TO MY FELLOW DIsSERS:

PLEASE NOTE WHO REQUESTED nay DEMANDED THAT YOU ALL HAVE HUNDREDS OF POSTS TO CATCH UP ON. I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS.
How come I'm the only one that has to have legal disclaimers?

Ahh .. I see adding to your post count again ..... ;)

We are going to as well. One question though. Tom was thinking of wearing sandals rather than packing shoes. Would sandals be allowed in the dining room? What do the "experts" think?

Personally? I wouldn't care. Besides, once you get to dinner and sit down, your feet (and your shoes) go UNDER the table and no one sees them.

I happen to have personally dined with ppl who wore crocs to dinner. Yes, it's true!! :earseek:

IMHO, this is really approaching the neighborhood of TOO MUCH INFORMATION!! or TMI as my SIL insists on calling out.

I agree Curt UNLESS this will be a Burlesque Pirate Show pirate:

ME!! No m'am, you have me confused with the bus driver.
(Hose monkey doesn't quite fit does it when you have four(?) bugles on the Class A's.)

Another note of observation - It's really starting to get frustrating when your catching up and the page count keeps rising. And this is just the HOUR that it took me to get from work to home. Amazing...

Okay well MAYBE not totally unexpected I did type up something then backed up and decided it would be a TOP so I just went with it  and now you busted me out

Squid

Sorry, habit. I've got family members who tend to skirt the truth and I'm used to busting them out too! :)

Somewhere back there was a comment about the gauntlet being thrown... (I'm not going back to look for it) All I ask is can I use my sap gloves? But then Steve will want to use the Haligan tool

I did a little pirate shopping tonight as well. pirate:

I bought Walker a kids costume, came home and he was all excited to try it on. The only problem was as soon as he opened the package, it smelling like gasoline. So, it's going back tomorrow. :sad2:

That happened to a co-worker last year! She bought a princess costume for her daughter and it smelled like gasoline. She brought it back and told the store manager that she didn't want an even exchange unless she was able to open the package and make sure it didn't smell the same way. After 5 costumes she asked for her money back. Good luck!!

OK, that's too weird. Why do costumes smell like gasoline?

I like the smell of gasoline, but not enough to wear it!

OH MY, 15pgs since this afternoon! I'm not caught up but thought I'd post first. We spent the night costume hunting. DH will be wearing a WOMENS frilly shirt as part of his pirate costume. He said "well after all these years you finally got me in womens clothes". I will make a red vest and he will wear black pants and it should be fine. I'm another story ...I was tossing up whether to go wenchy or more casual pirate with a fun saying shirt. So DH convinced me to go wenchy and I bought a skirt, heels, fishnet stockings, and a blouse. Only when I got home it all looked awful together :-( So back to square one. I got a shirt that says Good Girl Gone Bad that would work as casual pirate type. Or I can go shirt hunting again for a shirt that will work with the skirt..that seemed to be the major problem...too much black. OY!

Oh Ilene! I hope it works out. I was supposed to get my pirate: costume from a co-worker tomorrow but she left me an email earlier this evening saying her son is sick and she won't be in the office. I told her not to worry about it but I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed that I won't get it tomorrow. I'm nervous that it won't fit and then I'll be running around this weekend looking for a costume! (big sigh!) Is there a smiley for that?

And I am supposed to keep it G ????????????????

Thatwas not what I meant!
But I did get a kickout of the little note on the bottom.
I didn't know those activities were added. Guess I need to add a thing or two to the packing list!

Do you have a frame for it already? I got the idea from a friend that used engagement photos. She put the mat on top of the glass with the photos behind the glass for safety. This gave a nice surface to write on, kept the mat in good condition, and also prevented anyone from writing beyond the frame area. Just an idea, though heavier to carry. (But if you're shipping it ahead of time, maybe an option?)

Another thought is to use like a low tack painters tape to edge off the mat where the frame would be rather then bring the frame itself.

Hey, I got new tags. Uh...but who do we send the complaint to if we liked the OLD ones better?

I mean "I will not beg and grovel even if it means I die an old, untagged woman" is MUCH better than "Spent all day at an amusement park yesterday." :confused3:confused3

You can also use Blue Painter's Tape on the edges for the portion that will be under the frame and then no one will write on that portion of the mat.

GMTA!
I replied with the same answer.

Enough all ready! There's no way I'm getting to the end tonight!:rotfl: I think the guys talk more than the ladies!:lmao: I'll try again tomarrow. Goodnight.:wave2:

We are having the pirate boot issue in this family as well. I ended up purchasing DH some boot covers from Fred Meyer for $8.00. That will have to do. DD and I will be wearing non-pirate shoes (the boots I bought hurt my feet). I thought about going around barefoot (wouldn't that be nice). I am not going to worry too much about the feet because I try to pack light and bringing lots of shoes along just isn't my idea of packing light.

I'm in the same predicament. Not sure what I'm going to do about shoes thing yet. Guess I'll have to shop!

It'd be cool at Christmas with green cupcakes. Maybe a bright yellow one for the star. And "ornaments" made with some sort of sugary sprinkles.

Mmmmm

I thought the same thing! I think I'll pick one up when we get back from the cruise.
