1. How many brothers & sisters do you have? 1 Sister
2. What is your birth order? Sister is older, always has been - always will be!
3. What was the house like that you grew up in? Ranch, two story, condo, apartment?? Three story brownstone apartment bldg in Berwyn.
4. What did you do first when school was over? Did you go home, to a friends, to a babysitters, daycare? Went home, later stayed at school for activities.
5. What was your kindergarten teachers name? Sister Philomena
6. What did you play with as a kid? GI Joe
7. What was dinner time like as a child? Pretty plain, four people around the kitchen table, keeping the cat off the table.
8. What major news event do you remember from when you were a child? Define "child", nevermind. I rember watching Tricky Dick resign. I was at my Uncle's cottage near Manitowoc, WI. (Shoto for those who know the area). I was 8 at the time and knew NOTHING of the significance of the event.

Well I got a call from my doctor today, when they did my ultrasound they found Gallstones. so I go in for a consult on the 18th.

Just a question,

Has anyone hear any whispers about MK refurbing the Indy Cars to a Cars character theme. One of the fellows at work said he had heard that the cars were going to be refurbed to look like Lightning McQueen and the other racers... Anyone else heard this through the grape vine?

Well I got a call from my doctor today, when they did my ultrasound they found Gallstones. so I go in for a consult on the 18th.

2. What is your birth order? (I know Steve, middle child syndrome for you -- I've read your tag ) Another middle child syndromer here. I used to hate being the middle child, now I love it.
3. What was the house like that you grew up in? Ranch, two story, condo, apartment?? Ranch
4. What did you do first when school was over? Did you go home, to a friends, to a babysitters, daycare? Usually go home, some days Girl Scouts, some days dance lessons.
5. What was your kindergarten teachers name? Oy, now you're making me think. Ouch! I think her name was Mrs. Rabinowitz. She was older than god.
6. What did you play with as a kid? Barbie dolls and Dawn dolls, mom's old clothes.
7. What was dinner time like as a child? Pretty chaotic with 6 of us.
(My grandfather lived with us.) As I got older it was less structured as we had more activities we participated in.
8. What major news event do you remember from when you were a child? President Nixon resigning. When I was in high school it was President Reagan getting shot. (This was watched closely in our house since Hinkly bought his gun from my uncle's store.)

Kurt and AnnMarie congratulations on your milestones. Everyone has been busy today.

Cheryl gallstones are no fun. I found out I had them when I was pregnant with Brooke. I had my gallbladder out a few months after Brooke was born. It is really an easy surgery (if there is such a thing) and you will feel so much better after.

The UPS man just left here and I think a school exploded in our living room. I can't believe how many books we have. This is really exciting.

5. What was your kindergarten teachers name? Sister Portu. If you Google "Sister Portu" the third site that comes back is a quote from her about someone in my class who died on 9/11.
6. What did you play with as a kid? My Little Ponies, Strawberry Shortcake, Star Wars
7. What was dinner time like as a child? The four of us, all together--just the way I like to do it now.
8. What major news event do you remember from when you were a child? The Challenger explosion, Bernie Goetz, Reagan getting shot

6. What did you play with as a kid? Almost all boy stuff. I always wanted to play hockey but my parents wouldn't let me

3. What was the house like that you grew up in? Ranch, two story, condo, apartment?? We had a white farmhouse until I was 2, than a red ranch house
4. What did you do first when school was over? Did you go home, to a friends, to a babysitters, daycare? I went home
5. What was your kindergarten teachers name? Mrs. Schrum! The BEST teacher ever!
6. What did you play with as a kid? building blocks, arts + crafts, in the woods on monkey vines/swings
7. What was dinner time like as a child? My mohter cooked dinner. We all ate together around 5:30 at the kitchen table. We only had one telephone, and never answered it while we ate. It was a good family time.
8. What major news event do you remember from when you were a child? JFK assasination, John Glenn orbiting the earth

1. How many brothers & sisters do you have? 2 sisters, 3 brothers. One of my brothers passed away 5 years ago. I can't believe it's been that long.
2. What is your birth order? (I know Steve, middle child syndrome for you -- I've read your tag ) I feel like I'm the middle child in the 2nd set of 3 but actually the 5th. My parents adopted my oldest brother, had my sister and one of my other brothers and then took a break. More than a couple years later, my sister was born, then me and then my younger brother.
3. What was the house like that you grew up in? Ranch, two story, condo, apartment?? We moved a few times. The house I remember the most was a large 2 story with enough bedrooms for everyone as well as my oldest brother and his wife & child. Talk about crazy.
4. What did you do first when school was over? Did you go home, to a friends, to a babysitters, daycare? My Mom picked us up from school. When we moved, school was one block away from home so we walked.
5. What was your kindergarten teachers name? I'm not sure. Maybe Mrs. Hill?? I do know years later my mom was still impressed that she was the aunt of some actor (Charles Bronson, maybe?)
6. What did you play with as a kid? My brothers baby items. We used them with our dolls along with cake pans as swimming pools for our Barbies.
7. What was dinner time like as a child? Now that I think about it, very sad. I don't recall ever having family dinner unless it was in a restaurant. My Dad worked in Indiana and commuted every day. So, it was always late when he got home. My Mom would feed us haphazardly in the late afternoon. I suppose that's why when we have a true dinner and family night, it's at the kitchen table, even if the kids grumble about it.
8. What major news event do you remember from when you were a child? I don't really remember the actual event, but the Flintstones were not on because of either Martin Luther King or Bobby Kennedy's assasination.

3. What was the house like that you grew up in? Ranch, two story, condo, apartment?? Two-story brick bungalow (think Archie Bunkers house)

4. What did you do first when school was over? Did you go home, to a friends, to a babysitters, daycare? Straight home usually, sometimes to a friends house.

5. What was your kindergarten teachers name? No clue - way too long ago.

6. What did you play with as a kid? Stuffed animals (I loved them more than dolls) or my Brothers Matchbox cars.

7. What was dinner time like as a child? My Grandmother did all the cooking. We have a breakfast nook in the house where we all ate. It was my Mother, Grandmother, Great Aunt, my Brother and myself.

8. What major news event do you remember from when you were a child? John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King all getting shot. The Munich Olympics. Neil Armstrong walking on the moon. Watergate.

Cheryl, good luck. If it is any consolation when I had kidney stones about 3-4 years ago I found I also had gallstones. I was worried until the doctor told me that just about everyone has gallstones to some extent. My FIL just had gallbladder surgery and is doing fine.

You can have gallstones for years, but when they start getting too big to pass that's when the real trouble starts. Funny little body part - if we can live without it, why do we have it in the first place???
