Hi everyone. I finally decided to come out of hiding and say hello to you all.

Hey Bruce! It's great to see you posting, welcome home!

Curt and I met up for dinner tonight at ESPN Club but they were full because of the Pistons-Pacers game so we went to Beaches and Cream. We both had the cheesesteak which was good. We finished just in time for Illuminations, watched that from the BWV/BCV bridge then hung out in his villa for a little while.

Curt's a cool guy, not quite as crazy as he appears on the thread but still cracks some good one-liners.

Good morning. :surfweb:

Jeff, glad you & Curt were able to have dinner & chat. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I think that is the coolest thing about the DIS. If anyone would have told me I'd meet people online 3 years ago, I would have thought they were absolutely nuts! But, now it's so natural, I look forward to meeting my DIS friends for many, many years to come. ::yes::

Wow! You guys have been chatty! I was busy with work and the girls for the last 2 nights and just got on the computer....4 pages to view! It was really quiet the few days before that, and then I miss 2 and oh boy!

Hope all that are traveling are safe and have wonderful trips.

Tina, just wait! :scared: It's been rather quiet here but the closer we get to cruise time, the scary it's going to be to be away from the computer for even an hour. :rotfl: Last summer, it seemed like we were filling up pages and pages and pages most days.

Cindy - that's exactly what has been happening with our May thread. They go through milestones every couple of days now. :lmao: We hit 44,000 posts yesterday!

That's one of the reasons I haven't posted as much here lately. Trying to keep up with the blabbermouths and get ready for the cruise! Luckily the big part is done. Mark and I finished up all the buttons and navigators for the cruise and shipped them down to our friend near Daytona. He should be getting the package today. I only have one more week of work left but plenty to do here and at home. It will all be worth it.

When we get back I'm going to concentrate more on the SSMC06 page. I know I have some updates to do to the gallery (my apologies to those who have sent things in the last couple of weeks).

Jeff - Glad to hear you had a good time last night with Curt. :thumbsup2 I can't wait till the cruise to meet new friends and see old friends again! Actually I'll be seeing Diana in about an hour for lunch, I can't wait!

Cindy - I know what you mean about "meeting" people on line. I'm a pretty outgoing person but meeting people online had a bad stygma attached to it. Then I found the Dis and all was right again in the world. You can meet some geniunely nice people online (just as long as you are looking in the right place).

Mary - Glad to hear things are coming together for your next cruise. I keep asking people if they have room in their luggage for me to tag along but so far no takers :confused3 :lmao: . You are going to have a fabulous time (I just know it) then you cen get into full swing for SSMC06!

Stacy, you certainly can meet some geniunely nice people online. :thumbsup2

But there are still a lot of fruitcakes floating around out there. I've seen it a number of times on this board and especially with selling on ebay. Sometimes hiding behind a computer screen brings out the worst in some people --- which is really very sad. :sad2:

Good morning Everyone! This has been a busy week. I will be doing some yard work this morning before I go to DD's school to help in the cafeteria. After school is dress rehearsals for the Variety Show and then Karate Graduation is @ 6:00 pm. Tomorrow is the Variety Show @ 1:00 (school) and 7:00 (parents).

Next week should be good! Only 3 days of school (conferences on Thursday and Friday). So, DD and I have a 5 day weekend! :woohoo:

Weather has been record highs this week! :sunny: Today should only be in the low 80's :thumbsup2

Welp! I gotta look like I am doing something so out to the yard I go

You are both very right.

I actually met Bruce the Shark online, while I was at the lowest point of my life. :thumbsup2

On the other hand--I've come across my fair share of wackos.

I just got home from lunch and shopping with Stacy. I think my girls confirmed her decision to not eat with us on the cruise! :lmao:

They were just fine don't let Diana kid ya!
There little girls, all I expected was they would be hungry!
Only 2 things dropped on the floor and only a little hair pulling, nothing more! :lmao:

Meeting genuinely nice people is the best part of the DIS :disrocks: , that’s why I hang out here so much. ;) I enjoy communicating with everyone on the DIS, even those with opposing/contradictory views of mine. The tolerance of others is how we can learn from each other and not get stuck in the same old routines all the time. Sometimes you learn the most from those who you dislike the most rather than from your best friends.

Categorizing others is not a practice I like to take part in. I hope I have never done it on the DIS, I don’t remember if I did and if so I’m sorry. It can be hurtful and take away from the whole purpose of the DIS. :disrocks:

Unfortunately, I’ve seen this all too often and from people I would never have expected it from. It truly is sad. I usually chalk it up to someone having a bad day, I know I had one yesterday when I stuck up for a resort basher.

You dont sell on ebay do you? :lmao: And you probably haven't heard all Cindy's lunatic ebayer stories! I agree about not categorizing others in one sense, but some people go way out of line and seriously need to be committed!

Nope, I don't and that's one of the reasons I don't. I've watched Ebay sometimes and don't understand how an auction can go on for a week or more. You'd think a day maybe two would suffice.

I'm so excited. Disney Visa sent me an email about an early sale for tickets for Mary Poppins, which is coming to New York October 14th. SO I just went online and bought 2 tickets for the first night! Woo Hoo, I'll have something to talk about on the cruise for sure.

Sandy - sounds like an awesome show. That is one I would love to see!

Jeff - sadly while 99% of the people who post on the DIS are good the other 1% can be trouble. Someone could come across as very kind to one person and be very mean to another. I prefer to give everyone the benefit of the doubt until they hurt me or someone close to me. Sadly that has happened on here. I hope it never happens to you but when it does it can be an eye opener. I prefer to spend my time dealing with the 99% that is great. Even more I prefer to spend time with the small percentage of people that have not only become computer friends but true friends. Had to come back to edit as I was interrupted when I wrote that. I love making new friends as well. What I meant was I just don't worry about dealing with the negative 1% any more. :)

I just got the email too....sounds like it's going to be good. My father keeps offering to watch the girls for us so we can go into the city. :scratchin

Got that email too! I would love to go but I don't think It's going to happen unfortunately. We'll have enough going on with my son starting middle school next year and then missing a week for the cruise.

Jeff - if only ebay would offer that option. Now I've only sold a few things long ago, but I have bought a few too and I don't think we can go for listings less than 5 days or so. I'm such a novice! :thumbsup2

Oh we got the Mary Poppins email too ... darn that we live so far away from NYC or it would be cool to do :cool1:

What a BUSY day! DD is now a brown belt decided :woohoo: She broke her boards with only 1 second attempt on her side kick! :woohoo: DH an I are VERY proud! :cloud9: Only three more belts until she is a first degree black belt! :yay:

Jeff- I have to correct ya here.... Last nights game was Cavs vs the Pistons... and the CAVS won!!!!!! LeBron is amazing!!!!!!!
If I was a betting gal I could have won 1400 on a $200 bet last night. The CAVS are having an amazing playoff season.... :cool1:

DH and I both received a Vacation Magic mag today... Kinda cool we both got to read it. There are some interesting facts in this issue.....
