2006 Disney Dining Plan FAQ

Please help me understand this. We are going to WDW in October and staying offsite. We are purchasing 10 day tickets but only using 5. We are saving 5 days for next October/November. We are thinking about camping at FW, but are very interested in the DDP. Do I need to purchase a separate MYW ticket to be eligible to get the DDP? Do all four of us need to purchase these tickets, even though we will have 5 days left from this years vacation? This is confusing!!

It is only complicated by the fact that you're attempting to save yourself money two ways: By buying non-expiring admission and by purchasing the Dining Plan. To answer your question, yes, unless you're staying at a DVC resort on DVC points, you must purchase a qualifying package, including both hotel and admission passes, in order to qualify to purchase the Dining Plan.

Does anybody know if you can use 2 CS for 1 TS? Since you can use 2 TS for a signature meal I thought you might be able to use 2 CS? Just a thought.

Also, unrelated: How do you add your own signature? (ie... where you have stayed, days til next trip, etc...)

No you can't trade two cs credits for 1 TS. To add a signature scroll to the top of the page and click on user cp. To get a countdown ticker you can go to www.tickerfactory.com and design one then copy and paste it in your signature.

No, you can't use two CS credits for a TS meal. Sorry :(.

Welcome to the DIS!!! To add a signature, click on "User CP" near the top of the page on the left. From there choose "Edit Signature" under "Settings & Options". Here is a thead that describes the rules on signatures: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=976007 .

As others have indicated, no, you cannot. If they were ever to allow such an exchange, it would more likely to be closer to 4 CS for 1 TS.

Any news on separately counting children TS vs adulkt? Last post I can see about this potential development is from July 18th...

We were on DDP last year, and frankly WDW and CMs didn't seem to really care how credits werre used. Only cared that kids order off the childs menu.

Thanks for any tips...

I'm sure as soon as there's any change in this we here at the DIS won't be able to escape the info (judging by the proliferation of sharing threads/threads about the 5th page of the Dining Plan brochure, etc.) So, my guess is, it's a big no for now. ;) :goodvibes

There was a message posted on another Disney forum yesterday relaying how the guest was limited to the number of meals of each type (adult/child) that they had purchased. I suspect we will continue to see this sort of inconsistent, surprise enforcement, up until the information systems are changed (or people start voluntarily complying).

I just did a quick compare of the two PDFs, and these are the differences in terms of restaurants and eateries:

So, in a nutshell, the non-Disney owned restaurants are all gone. Because that is so consistent, I don't believe it is because they all, coincidentally dropped out, but rather either it is an oversight or Disney has decided that their own restaurants should benefit from the extra business that the Dining Plan generates. (I'm guessing the latter.)

Also, note the the addition of room service is indeed limited to the deluxe resorts.

Wow! That's a lot of changes Bicker. When you say "the two pdfs" do you mean Disney has released a new Dining plan pdf? Where is that? Is it the same link as always? We were considering the DP for our 2nd BWV reservation but with Earl of Sandwich and Chefs de France removed, that would certainly make up my mind to stick to oop instead.

Thanks!

Oh, I just realised that's probably the new 2007 plan? So does the 2006 list remain as is do you know?

I am sure this isn't final, and most of the restaurants are still in negotiations with Disney. If they are all dropped, then it is because Disney did not reimburse them enough for the meals. If they loose money on each DDP person, then it makes sense for them not to accept the plan. I am sure plenty of people will still eat at those restaurants.

Yes, but how could they all have decided to drop-out all at once. At least one or two would have stuck with it, I'd think, if it wasn't something imposed by Disney.

BTW, regarding my listing above: It was the result of a text-compare program, so I think it masked something: It showed a change from Big River Grill to BoardWalk Joe's, but I think that's an ADD and a REMOVE, not a CHANGE.

Thanks for posting the differences Bicker. I agree that it was probably Disney imposed and not voluntary by the restaurants.

The Chakranadi Chicken Soup shop at AK has closed and that would be the reason it is no longer on the DDP.

Are the restaurants that have been removed for 2007 or for now? We have ADRs for October for one of the restaurants listed.
