Well, I have my own exciting news!!! (No, Elaine!!!!!) We are still at Etta's, and we're getting dinner ready, and she says, hey, I've been meaning to ask you, what IS this stuff?!?!?! And she reaches into her frig and pulls out.......
MY FLUBBER!!!!!

I thought it had gotten left in the frig in our hotel room in California!! Evidently, it came all the way home with her insulin!!!! Woo hoo....

OK so isn't exactly on the same par as a grandchild, but we all gotta take our thrills where we can get them!!!!

That is too cool...I can see Etta emptying her insulin container and wondering what is this green coloured stuff? Oh well I'll just put it in my frig and ask Kelli & Keith when they come to visit....Is is still usable?????

EXACTLY!!! Do you believe she kept it for over a year?!?!?!? She is big on saving things for their owner..... It looks exactly like I remember....I'll have to play with it tomorrow and see if it's still OK.....science experiment.....good one...

Hi Kelli- you're not too far from me. Tell Etta hello. I haven't been to Burlington for a while- mainly working in Chicago now- but still go to the Aurora hospitals for special cases.

Just got done booking my excersions for the Sept. trip- I'm gonna need some OT to pay for these.

I told her.....I remember your reasons for Burlington, so hopefully you won't have too many special cases. Going to the therapy place in Burlington today and tomorrow, hitting Granny's for lunch one day..always a highlight. Great greek toast and patty melts.

So how is/was South Bend....I can give you exact directions to a Denny's, or a Wendy's, and point out the local Bob Evans....funny I'd never heard of BE until Elaine talked about them......thought they were a southern thing....

South Bend was good. Always is.
Sounds like you took the toll road to South Bend and exited at the Notre Dame/Roselawn exit. That area to the north is not rally SB.(not trying to be picky). That's where we find the cheapest gas. It is about 2 miles from Lee's parents.
Bob Evans. We have one just down the road from us. Cracker Barrell too. Now that's a southern thang.
I should have told you, the place to go is the South Bend Chocolate Cafe, which is downtown. Yummmmmm! Coffee, cakes, icecream and of course CHOCOLATE!
Hmmmm. Why do I describe everything in terms of food?

Can you tell we're excited? Our son and DDIL just came by with a father's day gift, a little cute onesie with surfboards on the pocket, and the due date inside! Hooray!!!!

Grandkids are great. Spoil them and send them home.
Actually, we love spending time with ours. Took our grandson on a western cruise 4 years ago. Now, his sister wants her turn.

Bob Evans. We have one just down the road from us. Cracker Barrell too. Now that's a southern thang.

Bob....you are sooooooooo lucky.....I would die to have a Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans close by....both are not here in Canada and our closest Cracker Barrel is 40 minutes from the border but there is a Bob Evans only 15 minutes from the border.....I think Mom and I know where every Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans is along our drive from here to WDW!!!!!!!!

Debbie...our first Bob Evans was many many years ago when we visited my cousin who lived/lives in Maumee Ohio....well the Bob Evans might have been in Toledo....still you guys are so lucky...I wish that both Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel would expand to Canada....I mean our Tim Horton's coffee shops are popping up all over the US now....rumour had it one was scheduled to open in the Canada Pavillion at Epcot...but won't be anytime soon...something to do with WDW being Coke and Wendy's (who owns Tim Horton's) being Pepsi)

P.S. Congrats on keeping your FLUBBER...I wanted to keep mine but thought it would be conficated by the immigration people....

Oh! I remember a funny Bob Evans/WDW story!

This past May as we were walking out of the Magic Kingdom one night there was this young family trudging out with 2 strollers of sleeping kids. They were debating where to go and eat once they got back to the hotel.

Man: We can just walk over to Bob Evans
Woman: Whatever (she did not care if she ate toothpaste at that point I think )
Man: I don't even know what Bob Evans is..

So nosey me has to say:

Obviously you are not from the North!!

Man: No we are from South Florida!
So as we walked I tried to explain what Bob Evans was and compared it to Cracker Barrel, they at least knew what CB was!

So that is my Bob Evans/WDW story

I hadn't thought far enough to think about taking babies to Fantasyland, I was just thinking of cute clothes and baby proofing the house... Now my fantasies... have begun, and I can't wait to take him/her to the rides for the first time! That's going to be so fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now you guys have me thinking about lunch at CB... yum!

Hi Everybody,

Here it is, the big announcement! We're about to become grandparents, courtesy of our son Ben and his lovely wife, Sicily!!!! The little green shirt they are holding in this picture is their announcement to us. It has a little card in the pocket that has the due date on it, and the design on the pocket is surfboards, Ben's favorite occupation when he's here. We're thrilled, and can hardly believe it, even after planning for it for years. I can't wait to go Disney shopping with Sicili for baby stuff!!!!
