My Mom was over today and I was showing her how to download her pics from her digital camera. She told me the other day she needed to do that, but she couldn't be online that long at most of her resorts. Had to have a quick download 101 lesson. Anyway, I was showing her my pics from the trip, and I kept sayng "This is the gal that got thrown off a horse (you're in a BUNCH of my pics!!) Finally, she said "Does this person have a NAME?!?!?"

I had my first experience in a scrapbooking store today. They had a whole big Castle display with tons of Disney scrapbooking stuff. Joe tried to confiscate my credit card as soon as he saw it...but TOO LATE.......Oh boy... I was in sensory overload in that place! Spent quite a few $$ but got such neat stuff. I am addicted now.. and although Joe says it will be less expensive than my pin addiction.... I don't know.. there's so much neat STUFF! I'm so excited I got 2 different sizes of those Mickey head punch thingies!! They have the SDU classes there too... but I don't know... there was one going on in the back while I was there and it was already WAY over my level!! They told me about some sort of cropping convention near here in July but even the brochure was baffling to me!

Leslie....I know the castle well . The punches you got were what I used to make the Mickey Head punches I gave out at Linda's scrapbook class. Originally I was going to bring them as my scrapbook exchange but I figured everyone would already have them. I would have loved to have been at the store with you to see your face when you walked in and saw the castle. I can just imagine the stuff you bought. Is Joe ready to dis-own all of us yet for getting you "hooked"on scrapbooking?

The convention in July is CKU (Creating Keepsakes University) and it's at WDW (Coronado Springs, I think) and I would to be there but it was....Panama Canal cruise....CKU....Panama Canal cruise....CKU...you know which one I chose!!!!!

If you need any help or have any questions, feel free to email me...Renae and I have been "cropping" and "scrappin" together all night tonight...it was really fun...it would have been better to have been in the same room (even same country) but this was just as fun!!!!

P.S. Leslie...I found the perfect sticker to go with your picture....since you're DisneyPinDiva and you use the Evil Queen (even though you are not evil) as your symbol...I found in my scrapbook store Evil Queen stickers in the Disney section!!!!!!!!!

The cropping convention you heard about is probably the one I'm going to. It's called CKU and is amazing. It's going to be at the Gaylord Palms hotel and is for 3 days. It's all classes taught by the best in the business nationwide. I'm so excited!!!

Money....hahahaha....or maps...,yeah, that's it, MAPS....London underground maps, park maps, museum maps, Mickey money...oops.....

Surrounded by pictures of the place the maps refer to...with numbers, or some picture sticker that match the description on a journal page telling about that exact place on the map.....

Money, too...but it was better in Europe during pre-Euro days......

This one is somewhere here in Ft. Lauderdale area.. at a Hilton I think. All I know is that it's $99 to attend the 2 day event. I'm not that up to speed yet.... But now instead of pin events I'll be going to scrapbooking events.... so much for saving $$$$$. Maybe I should change my user name to DisneyScrapDiva....LOL Sounds like I work at a Disney junkyard...
Yes we are still coming up next weekend as far as I know. I looked on their site but did not see hours for Mouse Surplus. Do you know...Will they be open on the holiday weekend?

I would LOVE to have some Evil Queen stickers... let me know how much incl postage and I'll send it to you somehow... I did buy some horse stickers..... .

It was at Coronado Springs last time, 3 years ago. I went that time too, and learned so much and got so many goodies! I had to have an extra suitcase to take it all home. Eric and I stayed there and I went to all the late night crops. Eric brought me food so I wouldn't have to leave to eat... it was that good!

This time it's off property, at Gaylord Palms. I don't know why, but that's a gorgeous resort. It's only about 15 minutes from my house, so I'm staying at home this time. I spent too much money on the cruise to stay at the resort too. I chose not to do CKU this time because of the cruise, but my son, Nick, said I really needed to go, so he gave it to me as a Birthday/Mother's day gift! I was so shocked I cried... He's so sweet! I'm taking a class called 100% boy, and I'm going to do an album all about how much I appreciate him.

OK, I know that's a little TMI, but I'm feeling really sentimental right now...

Eric and I stayed there and I went to all the late night crops. Eric brought me food so I wouldn't have to leave to eat... it was that good!

This time it's off property, at Gaylord Palms. I don't know why, but that's a gorgeous resort. It's only about 15 minutes from my house, so I'm staying at home this time. I spent too much money on the cruise to stay at the resort too. I chose not to do CKU this time because of the cruise, but my son, Nick, said I really needed to go, so he gave it to me as a Birthday/Mother's day gift! I was so shocked I cried... He's so sweet! I'm taking a class called 100% boy, and I'm going to do an album all about how much I appreciate him.

OK, I know that's a little TMI, but I'm feeling really sentimental right now...

Maps are great in pockets! I love them, they bring back such great memories of getting lost... I have NO sense of direction, after living in Utah for 20 years, I have to take a map just to get across town, so I have them in many scrapbooks...lol.

I'm not sure if the store is open tomorrow but I will definitely go there on Monday after work. Is there any other "villains" you like? I think they might have also had Captain Hook (can't remember which store I got him at).

Don't worry about the $....you have a "wedding" to pay for...please tell me that Erin is engaged now!!!!

CKU is held about 6 times a year all over the US. This is only the 2nd time it's been here. It costs $345 to go for 3 days. It's pretty advanced, but I think you'd really enjoy it. There's classes from 8-5 and then every night there's a crop till 1am. They give away huge prizes like digital cameras and printers to people who win door prizes and layout contests. We get all crazy and wave pompoms and scream for scrapbook celebrities. Somebody said Brad Pitt was there last time and everybody said forget him, we want Becky Higgins! (She's a teacher there and a Creating Keepsakes writer)
It's almost as crazy as a sailaway party! BTW, they are talking about having it on a cruise ship next year... if they'd do it on the Magic, I'd be there in a second!!!

Did you hear we lost her the night of the great midnight chair relocation? Actually lost her. Everyone left and she wasn't in her bed anymore. Not on the verandah, not in the bathroom.....finally, I saw the light on in that BIG closet. She was trapped in there with her suitcase. When I opened the door, she said, "You should have woke me, I'm just getting my clothes."

Had to explain to her that it was midnight, and we hadn't gone to bed yet!!! She'd been asleep for about 2 hours, and she was ready for a party through the canal!!!

Yeah, she's great!!!

3 years ago....wow how time flies. The lady that owns my scrapbook store went and loved it. As a surprise she sent the assistant manager to the CKU in Vancouver. The owner arranged it all with assistant manager's husband and boy was she surprised!!!! She loved every class she attended.
