Elaine- glad to hear that you are okay. I have yet to experience a tornado here in the Midwest- but they have hit towns around us last fall. I think I would rather to a hurricane- atleast the boat can usually go away from those vs a tornado just shows up unpredicted.

Kay- sounds like you are getting everything back together. I hope your leg gets better! Sounds like the surgery went well.

I wish I was going in December :guilty:

Robb and Noah might meet you guys- post more so I can tell him where to go.

Mom and I as well as our house and trees are fine. We live right below the escarpment so after the tornado did it's bit of destruction on top of the escarpment it kinda passed right over us without touching down but did touch ground again about 5 minutes from my house. The worst damage is an elementary school that lost it's roof but when they examined the building, they found that the building actually came off it's foundation so it looks like they will have to tear it down. Now the city has to find somehwere for all the students to go. It was fortunate that the tornado hit just after 4 pm and most of the students had already left for the day. There were just some students having volleyball practice in the gym at the time and only a few minor injuries resulted thanks to a quick thinking volleyball coach.

To those that asked, yes, a tornado is unusual for our area...this is the first tornado my Mom has experienced and let me tell you, we don't want to have another one anytime soon (and we didn't even feel the "brunt" of the storm). The storm came so fast that there were no warnings. They showed on the news the clean up that is happening in our city and from the shy the area where the tornado hit looks like a war zone....trees down, houses with no roofs and debris everywhere.

Elaine!!! We're so glad you both are safe + sound! What a horror that must have been for you!

Kay!!! Double WOW for you and Harry. That's a lot to have to go through. Glad to hear you went to WDW for a few days. Hope your foot progress continues well

Leslie + Joe!!! Did you recover from Wilma?

There has been a bit TOO MUCH Mother Nature interference with the elements lately!

Regina!!! Congratulations to the Mother of the Bride! Hope the wedding went well.

Scott + Lynn!!! SNOW ALREADY! BRRRR :cold:

Big news for us... my mom fell last week and cracked a bone in her lower leg just below the knee cap (Celeste... you will know the name of the bone :goodvibes I can't remember it!) She can't put any weight on this leg for 10-12 weeks. How frustrating for her. Joe + I have been available to assist. We live just up the lane, so thankfully we are close by. We are learning our time is not really our own. My dad is adjusting to not being waited on hand + foot. I think I'm really more concerned for him right now ;)

Still enjoying being a part of this great extended family. Blessings to all as we look to the Thanksgiving Holiday. :flower:

Well, Scott, what's the temp there?!? It's 18º here!! I'm sure you got more snow, but we've got the wind!!! :guilty: It took us almost an hour and a half to get home from Laramie last night! Had to take Happy Jack over, because the interstate was closed. Us die hard Bball fans gotta get our fix!!!!! :cool1:

And we only have 72 hours til we get some warmth....heading to San Diego Friday morning for the football game, and we're gonna try out Carnival's 4 day to Catalina and Ensenada.

Kelli it was -2 this morn, I would like to hear yuour thoughts on Catalina.

Ahhh the joys of winter travel in WY.

Hi to all... things are still tough with Mom unable to walk on her leg until January. I'm hoping it will heal correctly. Getting ready for Thanksgiving will be interesting this year.

Georgie: know exactly what you are going through. Mom must be frustrated also. Give her a :grouphug: for me.

Dr. said I could start walking around the 3rd week in December. Even the last week would be OK with me. (Dr. cut out all the ankle bone - can't wait to see how I have to walk properly). It has been 4 weeks already. With the house flood and Hurricane Wilma coming through, I haven't been able to do anything either. Very frustrating. We got the new Tile and carpet in the house this week already and trying to get the movers back over to put all the furniture back into the house. Will feel much better at that point. The house echos with our voices all day. Very funny sounding.

These times shall pass also :earseek:

Here are some pictures of Emma from our 3-D ultrasound we just had. Thanks so much Celeste for giving me the link to it! It was a lot of fun!

It was funny to see how much she yawned during the process. She gets that from me, you know!

Steve & Amy....I can't wait to meet my "niece" in person!!!!!!!!!!

Emma is going to be one very lucky little girl with you and Amy as her parents all these "honourary" DISaunts and DISuncles...and a very special honourary DISGrandma!!!!!!

Steve and Amy,

Man, that's amazing!!! I never knew they had such great resolution! I bet you guys are so excited... How's Amy doing?

Renae

Steve and Amy- those came out really cute. She has a really cute nose and little mouth and you can see her hands. So fun! (I wish they had those when Noah was little.) I get excited just seeing them. It will be fun to see how they compare- are you getting more later?

Georgie- Sorry to hear about your mom. No fun. I'd have to guess tibia or fibula if they are below the knee. The patella is the kneecap. :confused3 Sorry I can't be more helpful- I don't work with osteo stuff. Bone people have screws- which equals pin care for nurses- not something I enjoyed doing. You just sit there with sterile q-tips cleaning over and over and over and over- not very interesting. However, I hope you mom heals well.

Kay- glad to hear that everything is moving along well.

Renae- my sister and her husband accepted the job working for Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, so I would like to pass on your information.

Noah wants me to tell you that he is reading (with me) the chronicles of Narnia. We are getting ready for The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe to come out in December. Now he wants me to put this: :badpc: :wizard:

Have a great weekend!

OK Kids, Here are a couple of ideas for meeting up during the first part of December at WDW. Just a simple way to say hi.

Idea #1 – 12/3 at 3:00, Meet at the Swan Dolphin Boat Dock after Mega Mouse Meet. Board a Friendship and sail to Epcot. At Epcot do Soaring, Space, or just get a drink at Ice Station Cool (don’t know the new name).

Idea #2 – 12/4 at 7:30 during MVMCP, meet under the talking Parrot at Pirates of the Caribbean. Sail the Caribbean with the pirates.

Deb, you mentioned something on 12/2, name it and we will be there.

Whatcha think???

Busy weekend for us, I got three hours of sleep last night and Lynn worked a grave shift. We gotta finish up Christmas decoration, get family Christmas presents ready to ship, pack for Thanksgiving and WDW trip, SCUBA Class, Walk the dogs. And so the list goes on. Seem like we are loosing this race and on a treadmill.

Scott,

I can sure agree with you... it always seems like we get on that Christmas treadmill and it keeps going faster and faster and I don't get everything done, ever! ARGH. Oh well, at least we get to see our family and spend some time with them. That's the silver lining to this!!!
have a good day,
Renae
