Glad to hear that it went up....

Does anyone know the difference between this stock and the stuff offered on the Disney website- the one with a min. investment of 100.00?

I sort of miss the Happy Haunts Ball. Won't be dropping lots of cash for merchandise this year, though, it'll ALL go for food.

What is the happy haunts ball? Is it at WDW or DL?

The Happy Haunts Ball was a Disney merchandising event that has been held the past three years in the Magic Kingdom (WDW) on the Wednesday before Halloween. It was really an excuse to buy stuff and ride the Haunted Mansion over and over and complain about Disney Events food service.

It won't be presented this year.

Hey All,

I wanted to check in - realized that it had been ove a month since I had last been on. I can't believe it has been that long!

We're doing well - going nuts with work and the business.

We're counting down the days to our Thanksgiving cruise - only 100 days to go!

Congrats to Amy & Steve! That is great news.

For those I owe DVDs to, hang in there. I am finally getting started on that project, and hope to have them done in the next few weeks.

Joe + I went to the first 2 and had a wonderful time. :flower: The first time they billed it as 999 openings... room for 1 more. The MK was closed except for participants, and some of the rides in the HM area were open, HM, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad. They had inside food buffets in several locations. If you wanted you could get a picture taken in a doom buggy (extra $$). The headless horseman made an appearance too. The first event featured Imagineers and tales about the history of the ride. Jason Surrel was on the scene promoting his Maunted Mansion book. We enjoyed ourselves... it cost 99.99 to attend. The next year we did the Gus package (middle one of the 3) and got a special dinner... again, fun, but the ka-ching was bigger. Not as many rides open.

There is talk about them changing the Happy Haunts Event into a Nightmare Before Christmas Event like in DL.

I am hoping they do a POC event, this time promoting the POC ride. pirate:

Now I know where I know you from, Georgie. :cool1:

Well, we ended up down at San Pedro today. They are having a tall ship event this weekend, we have friends on this week's west-coast cruise, and I haven't seen the ship in a month. So off we trekked to see the Magic sail away.

We took one of the harbor cruises, and boarded out boat just as the ship cast off its lines. So we got to sail around it as it headed off to Mexico. I thought Adrienne was going to break into tears as the horn sounded. We got to see our friends up on Deck 10 - wearing their gold ears and waving like crazy.

I wanna go back!!!! ;)

Here is a snapshot of the ship leaving today:

Aw, Tony, that is just so SAD.....I'm with Adrienne....my heart hurts just thinking of being so close, but SO far away!!! :sad1:

Btw, I can find "my" verandah (actually, Etta's verandah), can you find yours?

Just had someone ask that question in an email this morning.....I mentioned that today's high was supposed to be 55º!!! (We didn't make it!) Summer in Wyoming is OVER.....waiting to hear if Scott uses that darn "S" word......:cold:

Yep - we spotted it immediately. And we looked for yours, too.

It was a bit strange, since I have never seen the ship sail without being a passenger myself. It was so majestic, slipping through the water.

Okay...here is my non-medical based "test" to see what sex your baby is. I have been using this test for over 5 years.....2 of which was in high risk pregnancy----AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN WRONG.

If you crave OJ during pregnancy you are having a girl.
If you crave milk during pregnancy you are having a boy.

You have to select- out of the two which do you crave more often.......let me know how I did.

It's funny that those are the two choices. Amy never drinks either. She never liked OJ (she still insists he's guilty :rotfl2: ) and only has milk with cereal. I immediately thought milk was the logical answer so I was ready to reply to you with that.

I asked her and she said OJ. I was puzzled and reminded her she didn't like it. She said she had a glass the day before and it was really good and milk doesn't sound very good so there you have it, OJ is her answer!

It's strange, Amy and I have a feeling it's going to be a boy but everyone else seems to think it's a girl.

So if we rush out to paint the nursery pink, you'll come out to CA to help us change it to blue if it's a boy? :moped:

Does anyone remember the last name of the guy who spoke on Pirates and Haunted? I wanted to see if his books were on Amazon....

I ordered two of Jason Surrell's books after we returned from the trip. One was his Haunted Mansion book which I haven't read yet but looks very good and has great pictures. I think a lot of the neat pictures on his slideshow came from it.

I also bought his Screenplay By Disney book. It's intended to help screenwriters write stories but I found it to be more of an insight to how many of the Disney animated classics were created. It has a lot of quotes from Walt and many other people closely involved with the making of the stories. It is a quick read but was very informative and fun.

I also read The Imagineering Way which he is credited as contributing to. I only recall seeing one quote from him though. It was a great book. It was more of a motivational and inspirational book and was a quick read too but I really liked it. It's mainly a book full of quotes from Imagineers describing what they do and how their minds work. It's pretty fascinating.

I can't wait for the POTC book. If it's half as good as his presentations it will be great!

Steve, Georgie's e-mail reminds me that you should tell everyone what song you came up with for when the baby poos! :rotfl2:

Tell them! Tell them!

It's definitely "had to be there" humor but I'll tell it anyway. Of course, with any of my stories I need to give the lead-in story.

Elaine had just finished watching a DVD I made of roller coaster clips that look kind of like music videos. She said that she could see it now, clips of baby's first poop, baby's first steps, etc. She said she's not sure which song I'll use for baby's first poop but I should use Aerosmith's Walk This Way for the baby's first steps. I quickly replied with:

"In the stinky, stinky, stinky, stinky, stinky room
In the stinky, stinky, stinky, stinky, stinky room
Mom & Dad hold their nose while the baby poops
in the stinky, stinky, stinky, stinky, stinky room!"

Needless to say I won't be quitting my day job anytime soon and obviously Georgie has absolutely nothing to worry about with losing her spot as the thread's resident poet!

Steve, I can't wait to hear more stories as the months go by!!! I hope Amy feels good all the way through!! If you can't paint yet, have you decided on a theme?

We decided on a Winnie the Pooh theme for the baby's room. It's safe and has neutral colors for a baby. We found lots of neat things at our local Target and KMart. We're not sure yet if we'll stick with Classic Pooh or Contemporary Pooh or have a mixture of both.

We're preparing our house to sell right now so we will be able to visualize a nursery better once we get into the new house.
