On the pin trading cruise the lines each night could be 2 hours long as people start to gather very early. On the 7 day cruises we always ate dinner at the early sitting and then left at 7:25 for the pin cart and usuallly half a dozen people in line if that. So no telling on this cruise.

Boy oh Boy.... you get an advantage with that beautiful puppy...

P.S. Can I borrow him one evening at the pin cart ??? :rotfl: :rotfl:

If the pin shows the official logo for the cruise imagine how nice all the shirts and hats and everything else will look with that logo.

We talked to some friends about this who are definately the ones to know. They explained that WDW Event Services offered to do an RSP program, or ordering system for DCL for the two cruises. Unfortunately, DCL turned them down flat. As of right now, there will be no pre-orders or RSP offered.

So, bring some comfortable shoes, because we are going to be standing in a *lot* of lines. :sad2: Until I saw the jumbo pin, I was refusing to do anything that was going to involve the hours long lines, but now....

OK I have to place a call about something else today anyway.
I will be the first to start the requests for some sort of system to pre-order pins.

Down with standing in lines for pins!

We were at Disneyland the day they released the Club 33 door pin. I was going to pick one up... but when I saw the line I passed on that one. (Seeing how much some of them have gone for on ebay, maybe I should have stood in the line) just did not want to wast valuable park time that way.

Laurie,
I'll be interested to hear how long we might be looking at too. Have never cruised Disney, so I'm not much help there.

2 hours long??? To buy a pin? Wouldn't that mean that everyone on board is in line or was there trading going on too? What is the lowdown?? I want ALL the details!! :cool1: :cool1:

What time do they open the pin cart if people start lining up at 7:25pm?

Laurie

The pin cart opens at 7:30.. and the lines usually start forming around 5:30.. That is why a few of us will probably be eating dinner while waiting on line. LOL

Oh my! The logistics of this are driving me bonkers! I have to miss the welcome aboard show and dinner just to get the hub cap pin??? Is there no other way???? :sad2:

Well! :teeth:
That is wonderful news, as we have late dining! :cool1: :cool1:

One problem though: That is cocktail hour!! Hmmm?!? Martini or Gigantic Pin??

And there is only ONE pin cart on the entire ship??

Yes only 1 pin cart the pin trading cruises are usually all pin traders so not sure how this group will react but can see a long line starting. All the regular pins are sold in the stores, but the LE Pins are only sold on the pin cart.

I could see the line forming at 5:30 maybe even earlier... with as many pin collectors on this cruise..LOL.............

Maybe all of us who call DCL on a daily (or hourly:rolleyes: ) basis could start mentioning something about the possibility of pin chaos...
Something like...
"I've seen they are releasing quite a few special pins for our cruise...I HOPE DCL HAS SOME SORT OF PLAN IN PLACE TO PURCHASE THEM SO WE WILL NOT HAVE TO SPEND ALL OF OUR VALUABLE CRUISE TIME WAITING IN LINES"

Since they turned down the idea of RSP.. (not surprising) if they have enough to go around ... then release them all at once so we only have to stand in line ONCE.
The least they could do is give wristbands in the morning or something so you can go anytime during the shop hours and pick them up instead of limiting it to one hour in between shows and dinner. Merchandise Special Events runs the Pin Cruises.. and I'm sure they've learned a thing or two from the events.......so if they are not involved.. it will be up to DCL Merchandise Mgmt who may have not experienced a "pin crazed" line of guests..... heaven forbid!

Kim... Love the idea of making the grass skirt out of a table skirt... that would solve the SIZE problem I'm having with DH and the standard grass skirts we've found...:rotfl2:

Someone a few pages back was asking where to get shorts, Old Navy and Victoria's Secret both have long cargo/ bermuda type shorts right now. The ones at Old Navy come in many different styles/ colors, while VS only has one style of longer shorts. Both also offer short shorts as well...

OOPS!! Sorry about that double post.. don't know what happened there!

Thanks Tom for the email link... just finished a nice looooong note to DCL regarding the pin release. They have 5 weeks to prepare... let's hope they figure something out.

Here is a real cheap way to get a grass skirt any size you want. Go to any party store, you can purchase grass skirts for tables ( they go around the edges) all you have to do is cut the grass the width you need to vocer yourself and then use sticky velcro/or sew the velcro to hold the skirt together. You can get usually 2 table shirts for around 10-15 $$ and that would be enough grass to make 3-4 skirts at lease...

Make sure to sew the velcro on REALLY tight unless you want to provide a free show :)

Okay Tom... I sent my request.. hopefully they figure something out... LOL

Maybe I'll just wrap the table skirt around DH 3 or 4 times.......and then staple it together....:rotfl2: He's not going anywhere without a pair of shorts on underneath anyway....

Can't wait to see the Hula stuff at the Disney Store... IF ours get's it.. they don't get much adult clothing.. mostly kids toys.
