This is Lynn, as Scott said, I am reading these on my graveyard shift. I have also been reading "The Path Between the Seas", I don't normally read non-fiction, but I am finding this really enjoyable, I am about 1/3 way thru, page 252 to be exact, and I would recommend it to all. I am also having a good time keeping up with all the posts instead of having Scott summarize them all for me.

Hi, Lynn!!! Sounds like Scott misses you....glad to see you here. If Scott is anything like Keith, I'd rather read these posts myself. Guys just don't get into the details us gals want. I know it sounds sexist everyone, but its true a LOT. I work with almost all guys and its hard to get stuff out of them!

I thought the first part of the book was the hardest to get through, so hopefully, you will really like the rest also! (I won't tell you who wins in the end!!) :rotfl:

Good morning everyone!!! :sunny:

Just wanted to jump back in and say hello. Have been somewhat quiet for a couple of reasons. One, busy with our business. Two, really wasn't sure we could pull this vacation off and didn't want to torture myself everyday by reading about all of the activities and great people. But the time has arrived..(almost) and we're going!

I can't believe all of the work many of you have put into this. Just amazing. We'll try to jump in and help any way that we can. Look forward to meeting all of you.

Hi everyone,

Well once again, NOTHING in the mail for us. I finally called DCL and they said " go look on the web site and you can see the excursions" well, that is not the same thing, I want them printed like everyone else . Of course we have no cabin assignment, deck 4 is really very nice, those of us without cabins can do a little decorating and we will be all set.

We have a hotel for Saturday & Sunday at the Carousel Inn & Suite right across the street from the parks. We got a great rate that includes a full breakfast. We will fly back to NH on Monday afternoon, unbelieveably we have a direct flight to NH ... Have to still arrange transportation to the hotel from the port and then to LAX on Monday, I will probably work on that this weekend.

I will call DCL again today and see if we have a cabin, however I think we may be at the back of the list since we paid off the cruise last October.

Back to work,
Kim
Hey Kim- We stay at the Carousel Inn & Suites every time we go down to DL. It's really very nice - clean, big rooms, and good rates most of the time. As a bonus, it is so close to the park entrances! Have a good time!

I agree, I would have liked the booklet too...even though we have booked our excursions and all. I called my TA to have her keep an eye out for it, but I'm not holding my breath either... :faint:

Happy Friday!

Welcome Jim, Tracy & Taylor! Glad you are able to go. When you have a chance, tell us a bit about yourselves...have you been on lots of Disney cruises? Any plans before or after the cruise at the parks?

I was reading Path Between the Seas, but had to give it back to my parents so my mother could read it before the trip too! I only got to p 107, so I really want to pick up another copy so I can finish it, even if it means finishing it on the ship! Anyone have a copy they are finished with? I'd pay for postage and return it in good shape, I promise! ::yes::

Welcome Jim, Tracy & Taylor!

OH NO, I may have created a DIS monster, thank goodness we have a wireless link at home so when Lynn is hogging the computer I can use the laptop. Well if we are ever home together, I last saw her Wednesday night at 8:00, we had an academic portion of a SCUBA Class. Now to have her get her own screen name. Then again, I could post stuff and have plausible denial ability. ;)

RE: Path “Between the Seas” I have the Cliff Notes...... :rotfl2: really I do.

:scratchin Hmmm...Scott, please write a book report on Path Between the Seas. It should be at least 1,000 words and give a complete summary of the book. :rotfl2:

Hi Karaeric..

This will be our 3rd cruise on the Magic. Went in July of 2003 and July of 2004. We're one of the crazy people that were on the phone last May 5th at the "opening hour" making reservations. Taylor is our 5 1/2 year old dd who LOVES Disney cruises! We're really looking forward to this one as we were lucky enough to have our waitlisted cat 3 room come through for us. Hopefully it's big enough for a little DIS party!

Making plans now for hotels near Port Canaveral. Planning on spending two nights before the cruise - just to rest up and gather our energy for the 14 days. Last two trips we have done WDW before and after the cruise - at the Poly and the AKL. After the trip it's just a short ride home to Palm Springs. Anyway, thanks for the welcome, hopefully we can be much more involved now until cruise time!
Jim

Weeks ago!!! Geez....

Did you book with a TA? Also, had you already booked your excursions??

I wanna book :)

Excursions are updated again! But, there are so many of you not on the LIST.

PM me with your excursions to see who is going with you.

GUILTY AS CHARGED! ;)

We made our excursions the first day, but now... I need to call and maybe CHANGE some of them :rotfl2: This comes as no surprise to my DH! He's already given me his okay on anything I can get. :hyper2: What a doll! :earsboy:

We also need to get our pirate names together! pirate:

The time is really going quickly. When you look at the weekends left (not counting Easter) to get anything done, there are only 7!!! I need my weekends! I'm too tired to get things done once I get home on the week days! :faint:

I am so ready for this weekend! :jumping1:

WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW COMERS. Be sure to check out Hygiene99's GREAT updates to catch up on everything!

Already composed, I was going for the extra credit..... :rotfl2:

Hi guys! Or ya'll, or you's guys... :wave2:

Just wanted to check in.. I'm here... busy as all get out with the school play and Box Tops for Education deadline in less than 2 weeks... but I make sure I have enough time each day to read our thread!

We got our excursion info yesterday from our Travel Agent. Went to him first so maybe that's an issue with some of you?

Promise to pm our list of excursions this weekend.... :flower:

Ok, off to school. :crazy2:

Have a great weekend!

Kendra

FYI- I emailed Hilton Curacao directly and you can use their beach facilities on a day rate for $10/pp. You don't need advance reservations for that. Disney is $50, but that includes buffet lunch, 2 drinks and transport. I think we are going to tour the city and the seaquarium and have lunch on our own, then if we want some beach time just head over to the Hilton.

I did the same! I emailed them and asked for a day room rate -- they quoted $55 plus tax. I assumed that was for my family. I need to re-ask about just using the facilities. I really don't need a room. I have that on the ship. :rotfl2:

But, I am thinking about Acapulco . . . I am booked on an excursion to see the cliff divers, but why on earth is that a 4 hour thing!? I really don't want to spend 2 hrs in a bus driving around Acapulco. I'm much rather be sitting at a pool having a nice beverage with an umbrella. Any thoughts?

My Cliff Notes are 17 pages long I want lots of extra credit :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :rotfl: :mickeybar

We did the city tour two years ago when we were there after going through the canal on Royal Carribean.

Now, it may have just been me, but when I was little and watched ABC Sports on Saturday, those cliffs were just incredible and the divers were just unbelieveable. Now, for the rest of the story......................to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. We rode the bus and pulled up with about 5 other buses, and vendors were all over the parking lot with their "stuff" hounding you to buy something. Then we walked across the parking lot to the lower deck of the restaurant (which I thought needed a little updating to say the least) and watched as these guys (not real young) dove off the cliffs.

Not real exciting, stayed about 10-15 minutes, watched four or five guys dive and then climb back up. Just wasn't like it was on ABC Sports. "The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat." See how those things brainwash you?

My mother asked me about it for this time and I told her it wasn't worth the time and money and if we wanted to do it that bad, we could ride a taxi over and back.

That's my two cents worth!

Linda
