Kara, sorry to hear about the postponed review. I dread mine every year, it's never bad, but it is written in stone, as are the raises. It's almost pointless to have the "conference" with your supervisor, because nothing you say will change it!

Kay, I am so glad that your DH was not upset with your booking the cruise. But....have you told him about the men's "grass skirt night"? I'd hold off on that one for a while......LOL

Okay, thank you for explaining the pin cart routine. I have seen people lined up and flocking to that cart. I did see several pins last cruise that I wanted, but did not know. I will be joining the crowds.

Randall, congrats on the good deal on the air. I had $120 in vouchers from Jet Blue when the flight I booked last Aug. with them went down in less than a week from when I booked. I booked for this cruise last October, and for two of us, New York to Florida and California to New York the complete total was $356.

Georgie, sorry to hear about Zazzle, I think their workforce needs an overhaul. My order after I got it was still showing online that is was "being prepared!"

This never happens to us.

We booked our airfare from Los Angeles to Orlando a few weeks ago. Normally, an air fare war happens and prices drop considerably.

NOT THIS TIME! I just looked on United dot com and the prices have doubled! For the first time I feel like I got some kind of air fare deal. I guess buying early still counts for something.

Thanks for letting me share. Sounds like a little thing, but I usually feel like I've been taken for a ride -- sorry for the pun.

Hygiene99 - Thanks for the tips about the dining tables! We tend to be quite reserved and take what's given, but on all of our cruises we've ended up right next to the bussing area looking at cleared dishes. For 14 nights??? I'd rather not .

seaulater - thanks for the info on the grass skirt night! I just casually mentioned to my DH that several of the guys would be wearing grass skirts for the tropical night... wouldn't that be fun... "No! I'm not doing that! That's one thing I won't do!" Oh well! I tried. At least we'll be wearing our matching Hawaiian shirts!


DH was up last night with several calls from the Command Center with jobs that went down. I still got up at 6:00 (will probably do that on the cruise too... drives DH crazy!) It's only 8:00 am here, but we're both tired already! What a way to start the weekend! But it's the job that's paying for the trip!

I booked our return home from LAX to Ft. Lauderdale and it was only $109. each. I thought that was a pretty good fare. Had I know before that we were close to Long Beach Airport, I would have had us depart from Long Beach - but didn't search that before.

But it's okay - that way we can drive up to LA and go to the Farmer's Market next to CBS Studio.

Was going to stay and go to Price is Right again but they are not taping on the Monday, the 30th if we did, then we wouldn't come home until Wednesday and didn't want to stay that much longer. We were just there in October and did that already 5 times.

For those of you going to the Price is Right, it is so much fun BUT it is too long. We were in line from Sunday night at midnight until 7 am and then didn't leave the studio until 5:30 pm. It is a very long process, as they interview everyone in the audience and a lot of sitting and waiting for the whole process to be over with.

It is better to request the tickets in writing before and they send them to you, in case anyone is wanting to go. There are also tickets in the office at the "Farmer's Market" next door - but not always for the day of or next immediate day.

I know this will come as a complete surprise to everyone, but one of my interests is improv comedy. Since DCL took the improv out of Off-Beat, it's up to us to bring improv back to the Magic. So, I'll be "hosting" some improv games on one of the at sea days TBD. Anyone interested? No experience necessary. It's just for fun. Audience members needed, too, but a minimum drink requirement may be imposed to enhance the comedic value of participants.

Seaulater = Disboard Navigator for this cruise. Now, I'm not coming up with an original idea here, but credit goes to Mark and Mary from the 10 day Christmas Cruise who made the Navigator and delivered to everyone's "fish" for when they arrived at their stateroom door.

I will make up the navigator (for everything we have scheduled prior to the cruise), print, bring, and deliver to everyone. I will also bring extras for the sailaway party(ies).
What Mary did is post the Navigator before we left on her website and then people could print out if they wanted.
So here's what it will list:
1. People's names; location and whether they are playing tag or not..
2. Each day and the schedule of disboard activities for that day.
3. A place for Notes
4. Anything else that might be deemed important.

NejTheLion = I was thinking about offering to put together a DVD of the cruise - collecting photos and possibly video footage from the cruisers afterwards, making some music videos, slideshows, etc. I'm in the process of desiging and putting up a website doing this, already having done quite a few for assorted family functions. I can make them all spiffy - real cases, color covers, direct color printing on the discs. Ron Jons and the Radisson, no official meets have been Set up as of yet but Look for folks all day around the pool area's also several others at the Airport hyatt and plans are in works.

Sent you a pm for a site that lists good prices for workstations and laptops if you are willing to wait for them to be shipped out. You need to check the site almost every day but there are some great deals. It's where I hunt when I need to buy parts and systems.

Hey Georgie, Angela is really into wireless connections and internet security(at least as I see it). She hard wired our office to handle at least six computers and also has me on wireless( with security) until I actually start using the plug. We haven made the cable yet for my computer. Got to go to best buy to buy the plugs and crimping tool. We use SBC DSL as we have to have relatively fast service in our medical office to reach insurances and lab results. If you have any questions that she might know , let us know. We are big fans of Kim Komando.

Now is a good time to get out those "dressy" clothes and send to the dry cleaners and then they will be all ready and out of the way.

Note to self: check DH's dress shirts from Christmas Cruise. Probably inside suit jacket and with three entree's per night, there are bound to be spots on them!

Busy Saturday. Got out the sewing machine already. Got to get my 70's outfit made. Making DH wear something too. Now, gonna go find the afro hair for him......

Morning everyone. Linda and Robin, thanks for the words of encouragement. Unfortunately, I have one of those minds that's hard to shut down sometimes, so I woke up at 5 this morning. Just now getting to the computer after two loads of laundry and watering house plants. Oh well, it's already been a productive day!

Kay, we booked on Southwest too. We are also flying out of LAX. For us, it was because it was really a lot cheaper to fly out of LAX. We are flying a much shorter route home...just up to San Jose (near San Francisco), so we got it for $39/per person. Couldn't say no to that!

Leslie, I just mentioned to Eric we needed to get him a grass skirt for the Buffet concert. He didn't say no, which I take as a good sign! Whee!

11 weekends to go before we sail! Pretty soon we'll be all wondering where the time went and the trip will be just days away. I can't wait. I was already trying to think about how to coordinate spa ressies, Palo ressies, and excursion ressies (still want to book the rafting trip) once we board the ship. A labor of love, for sure!

Well.....I've got one of those minds also! I was wide awake at 3:30 this morning, so I finally got up and 4 a.m. and went up to the office and did scrapbooking, then put clothes in the washer (see, we do think alike) and then at 6:30 thought maybe I could fall back asleep. Well, that is when I set my drink on nightstand went to crawl into bed and knocked drink over with bedspread. Got back up moved nightstand, then started wiping down the wall and by the time I got done I was wide awake, so didn't go back to bed! Clothes in dryer now! And it is only 8:30 a.m.!
