Actually, we had talked about it being on the first sea day (which is Monday). The final plans however won't be official until DCL makes their plans and decides which room is available. So it may be some time before we have a firm day and time for the wine tasting party.

Ken
Well, I'm a nit. Have I got the Castaway Cay day marked on the wrong date on my schedule?..... The current official temporary planner says Castaway Cay...Day 2...Is that the 15th? Is the first sea day the 16th? Gee, I'm confused already...

Later today I'm going down to the fabric store to scope out some lady pirate fabric....My seamstress friend said "Sure, I've got the time"...BUT for those, like me, who are digitally impaired, the new Spiegel catalog, and website, I think, has a super pirate-looking blouse, slacks, and jacket ensemble that looks remarkably like a pirate outfit....

Top...#951G0259
Crop pants... #951D9053
Reversible jacket... #951D0750

I'd go that route myself but that particular blouse would make me look like a roving cabana....

Do we need to arrange shuttle transport from the port to the GC prior to cruising? Sorry if this is a repeat... I've been trying to catch up for a bit. ;)

We should start a list of FAQs.

A buddy of mine returned from a cruise earlier this month and he said they shot fireworks from the Magic. Has anyone experienced this lately?

Have fun!!!

Steve

Steve:

Welcome aboard! The fireworks are shot during the pirate: Party on the deck during the big festivities. If you go back a couple of pages, we were talking about all the pirate stuff. Many, many, people will dress up as pirates on pirate night, including all the servers and characters will don their favorite pirate attire.

We enjoyed the fireworks during the 10 day Christmas Cruise. It was awesome!

Too funny, we sent in one from the Christmas cruise too - a picture at our table on the second formal night.

Linda, if I'm ready early for this cruise, it will be a MIRACLE!

Anyone know of a high-paying job that doesn't require a minimum of 55-60 hours a week? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

When you find one, sign me up too! At least I could get in some more cruise time! I actually thought my two week vacation wasn't going to be a problem since I told my CEO last year the first day I booked it. Of course, she couldn't remember and about freaked out when I actually put the vacation request in writing. "I can't have you gone for two weeks!" Well, needless to say, I am coming and she will survive for two weeks without me. I guess if she wants to pay for unlimited internet access for me, I would be willing to check my email..............................NOT!

Good thing she doesn't get on these boards pirate:

Add Robert and Linda too, but we will probably be late since our flight doesn't even arrive until 4 p.m.!

Just let us know where we report in!

Boy, it's in single digits here in NJ... I could use a warm hog roast just about now (smile!). I hope you can enjoy the hog roast, even if it may be a bit awkward with your brothers there too. Sometimes things get tough, and family is family... I'll be praying you make it through the event, with even some pixiedust and smiles scattered throughout the day. :wizard:

I haven't seen any red strapless gowns. I was busy looking through Coldwater Creek online in between soaking up the water from Wednesday's fiasco with our roof! Oh, the wonders of the internet!

Hi Lynda

Get on the boat - Saturday May 14
Castaway Cey - Sunday May 15
First Sea day - Monday May 16

If figure that I'm good to keep track of the days until about the 6th day. Then after that, all bets are off.

Ken

I saw some great dresses, red and black strapless on ebay and the neimen marcus clearence pages online about a week ago.

Keep sending the updates folks, we'll update tonite.

Kim, try overstock.com, I think we saw some there. I thought the prices were not that bad, . Enjoy the pig roast, well as much as you can.

Getting folks added to list.

Yep, when we went on Royal Caribbean in 2003, after about the 6th day I had no idea what was happening in the world. It was a good thing that they had the days of the week in the floor of each elevator. At least I knew what day it was! They just changed it out at midnight each night. However, never did see the lucky staff member that got that assignment though!

just a thought re the wine tasting...will dcl allow us to bring bottles on board?.. if not does the party move to the dock side!! :drinking1

DCL is one of the few cruise lines that does allow you to bring alcohol on board. Many of us pack a bottle or two of wine anyway for sailaway or dinner one night.

Thanks Lynda!

Booking now is an excellent idea. Any recommendations on a company, or will Disney offer a shuttle servce? We just booked the cruise on 12/30. My goal is to take care of all of the "little" things now and relax until the cruise. Providing my project at the office slows! lol.

We are staying at the GC until 5/31 and flying out of LAX to Orlando on Southwest midday. Any tips to get to LAX would be greatly appreciated.

Steve

I've already booked passage on a DCL shuttle from port to the GC, although I'm not staying there...All I want to do is be sure I can get a shuttle with a lift for my scooter to somewhere near my hotel (the Tropicana) and GC is close enough... $25 one way for 1 is a great price, too.

On the 10 day cruise we brought 9 bottles of wine on board, most we carried on. If you bring the bottle to dinner, there is a corking fee, $15 I think.

Need to think of happier things than the downpour we are having right now :umbrella:

So can we get a head count going for the Sail Away Party...

I will be there and most likely DH (unless I can't tear him away from the BB court  )

Who else is coming???

Lynda,

I am pretty sure that the Tropicana is on the east side of DL/DCA, and the GC is on the west. It would be a long walk/drive there if you have all your luggage with you....
