A Little 50th Celebration Merchandise Preview!!​

There is a plan to produce a set of twelve different, limited edition Mickey Mouse bean bags. Each Mickey Mouse bean bag will be themed to represent a different park (11) including the Disney Cruise Line.... and each bean bag will come with a matching pin!!
There is a redesign of the Pal Mickey in the works coming for the 50th that will have an "interactive" pin like the large, light up Magical Moments pins we've seen before. And hold on to your life jackets.... there is a whole range of Disney Cruise Line exclusive merchandise for the 50th!!!

Yay! We got our cocoanut in the mail yesterday. Just as Linda said with hers coming to her DH, ous came to Eric. All of our cruise ressies are made under my name, so it makes sense. Oh, just can't wait for that chocolate souffle!

Shari, there are a lot of states that don't allow you to ship alcohol into their state. We will be shipping grape juice, if ya know what I mean

You can order empty wine shippers (I believe they hold 6 bottles to a box?), because my marketing person at work gets them all the time. I will find out from her where she gets them and post that for those of you that are interested.

Noticed something interesting tonight as I was studying the Panama Canal nav charts. Navigation markers are inbound until the Pedro Miguel Locks. It is there they change to outbound. So the navigable channel in the canal will be marked by red nuns on the starboard side of the ship, with green cans on the port side until we get to and through the Pedro Miguel Locks, then it will change and we will have the green cans on the starboard side and the red nuns on the port. The mean level of Gutan Lake is 25.91 meters and Miraflores Lake mean level is 16.46 meters, and the operating depth of the channels is 14.63 meters. Just think this trip will be the first time the Magic will be above sea level.

I know mostly useless info for most but pretty interesting to me. I drive the guys at work nuts with this kinda info.

As ships leave or enter a harbor(etc) there are navigation makers, i.e. buoys, to show the way. Basically, they are red and green in color. The red buoys come to a point and got the name nuns. The green buoys are flat and are called cans. As a ship enters one of these waterways from the sea the axiom of “red on the right returning” meaning keep the red markers to the right/starboard side of the ship.

Flag protocol is also very interesting, I will spare you

Anyway, I just thought as we get older and visit Port Canaveral in the years ahead we can say to our friends and off spring. “ you see the shuttle assembly building over there at the Cape, well it used to be the largest building in the area, then there was the 5/14 repo cruise, and they had to build this other big building, known as the “5/14 Sailing Building”, as you can see it is bigger than the shuttle assembly building.”

There are two lines that I will need to collect from everyone in the next couple of weeks as I fire up the magnet factory. The first is where it says "Tigfanjeff & Jenkatt". This line can either be your Disboard names, your first names, or a family name.



The second line is where it says "Apollo Beach, FL". The line can be your hometown or your disboard names or first names.

Thank you. So it's like the channel markers at Lake Powell that my DH is always trying to explain to me to stay between when the lake is low............

Changing the subject............okay, I'll bring some GS Cookies so we can binge and expand our waistlines while waiting in line for DCL to open.....Obviously we now have something to do since we are getting there so early. We will also be able to watch DCL bring over pallets of boxes that we preshipped to the 5/14 warehouse and load onto the ship!!!! Boy, are they in for a shocker.

Okay, so now that we've figured out how to ship stuff down ahead of time, what about getting it all home AFTER the cruise??? With all the commemorative pins, shirts, etc. that I will be FORCED to buy, I just know it's not all going to fit into my suitcases.

Hey..for all the extra stuff we buy..lol, we get it home this way.

We always take bottled water and the little cooler with us to have it handy in the room...so when we are finished with the water, the little cooler folds back up and we have all the space in that large suitcase for souveniers, etc.

Otherwise..I have heard some people pack an empty suitcase, inside of a larger suitcase to use for the trip home. We have to fly home this time, so unfortunately..we have to make everything work from the start..lol. Hubby says..I bet we will still have to mail boxes home once we get to DL..lol.

I need volunteers to drink my wine . I ordered some styrofoam things to ship them in since I can now ship them down to wait for me. Makes my carry on lighter, and now I can liquidate my stock...I think I'll bring 12 bottles. I will have to do some taste testing before I pack though, let's see that's another 12 bottles...so only 12 bottles left after that .
