20050430 or... April 30, 2005 cruise, anyone?

So sorry to hear about your husband's glaucoma. I agree--it would be a scary thing to be in a foreign country and have a medical need. I hope you are able to reschedule your cruise soon.

Sorry to hear you won't be on the cruise this time around...hope your husband makes out ok!

Please accept my apologies everybody. I've not been on the board since I got back from my December trip. I should have posted weeks ago that we won't be sailing with you all. I had to rebook our cruise because I hadn't thought ahead and bought travel insurance during the window of time after my initial deposit that would have allowed for pre-existing conditions to be covered. Considering I almost had to leave the ship at Nassau during the Mousefest cruise because of a health condition, I decided it would be best not to take any chances. Medical evacuations are extremely expensive and rarely covered by group health insurances.

So I rebooked for the 9/24/05 Western cruise. But I'm giving Dad a "make-up trip" in May to WDW and to see the Shuttle Launch on May 15th. So there are no regrets here, other than not getting to meet any of you all. :guilty:

Have a great cruise and I hope our paths will cross on future cruises! :wave2:

Any one have an idea how full this ship is going to be? I thought it would be full, since it's the last Eastern until fall--but there sure haven't been a lot of posts about this particular cruise! Thoughts or opinions?

I just got off the phone with them and they tell me that the whole April 30th cruise is sold out!! On their website it shows availble staterooms but the rep just told me it was all sold out. Guess there goes my chance of buying an upgrade a tthe port!

That doesn't make any sense. I checked the website, as well, and it shows LOTS of available staterooms--in several different categories. I was hoping my parents would get upgraded (they are in a Cat. 10) if the ship wasn't too full. We are in a Cat. 5, mid-ship, which is exactly where we want to be. I didn't see any availability in Cat. 8 and lower, but there were several staterooms to choose from in Cat. 4-7. What do you think is causing the confusion?

DH and I have a DS12. This is our 3rd trip on the Magic! Our son Ian would be delighted to hear from a fellow cruiser in his age group. Drop us a PM if your son would like to introduce himself!

Well now I just called them again and they said they have cat 7's ,6's 5's and 4's leftbut everything else is sold out...which I am happy to hear...perhaps I can get an upgrade or pay for one at the port! So now that makes much more sense!!

Greetings to all. DH,DW,DS10 & DS9. This will be our 3rd trip on the beloved Magic. We are from Memphis Tennesseee and will be sailing with grandparents from Media Pennsylvania. Can't wait to meet up with some fellow Disboarders.

Getting close to the date, can't wait, travelling with ds11 & ds 2 & dh, my ds11 is looking forward to meeting new friends. Will anyone be visiting the kids club???

My son is also 2 and will be going to Flounders a few nights (hopefully). My daughter is only 4, so although she will be visiting the kids club they wouldn't be in the same age group. I think there was someone that had a 12 year old that was going. I just looked it up, it is a few posts back...BunnyMom. I remember because her son has the same name as my son... Ian.

I sure hope this thread picks up a bit as we get closer to the date. It would be nice to meet up with a few people from these boards.. I'm not sure if there is a meet set or not??? Anyone know?

There is no meet set up yet but I would sure like to go to one! We had fun at the one from our last cruise. It was so nice to be able to walk around the ship the rest of the week bumping into people you "knew" LOL!! I have my disboards tshirt and lime green Mickeys all packed and have 2 of my door signs made!

Well, I saw on the boards that a family on this cruise was upgraded from a Cat. 8 to a 5. Anyone else get notice of an upgrade? :cool1:

I've got a little over a month to lose those last few pounds before I get into a swimsuit! :goodvibes

Hi!

April 30th cruise will be our very first cruise! It's our first big vacation ever and we are just too excited! Also, we will be very happy to get away from the snow! It's been a long long winter!!!! Our 5 year old is too excited! Although I don't think she has a clue about the magnitude of the ship! Any special hints for first time cruisers?? We arrive in Orlando on the 29th and are staying the night at the Econo Lodge by the airport. We will be going back to the airport on the 30th to catch the Disney transfer bus.

I'm counting the days!!!

My daughter will be 5 1/2 when we sail I would love for her to know someone prior to going to the clubs. Are you staying at the Radisson the night before the cruise? Last cruise she went into the club and loved it but with so many kids its hard for them to hook up with any one in particular.

Hi April! Just found this board today! Cool!!! I have a 5 year old daughter, Nicole. I showed her your posting with Kasey's picture and told her that she would be on the Disney boat. She got sooooooo excited! I guess in her sheltered little mind she thought she'd be the only little girl! (she is the youngest of all her cousins, the nearest in age being 16 years, so she is used to being the youngest).

Thats funny! Last cruise my daughter couldn't figure out why a friend she made in the kids club the day before wasn't in there the next time she went. She expected it to be like school, the same kids there each days like a class....my daughter is always the youngest too...closest cousin is about 28 years old and my friends kids are all much older and even in school she is the yongest in her class! To bad you are not staying at the Radisson the night before, we could have hooked them up together before getting on the ship!
