I just booked our rooms for this cruise today! Very exciting! My Dh, me and our dd6 will be cruising with my mom. It is the first time for them cruising, my first time on DCL.

I would love to find another family or two that will have a daughter participating in the 5-7 aged Kids Club activities. My dd will be 6 1/2 at the time of the cruise.

my daughter will be 5 1/2 when we sail!

aprilgail2,

I noticed you are from Long Island also. Which airport do you usually fly out of? We fly out of Islip because it is close to home and SW has some great fares. Maybe we can keep an eye out for good airfare for each other! :D

I normally fly JetBlue but I may try southwest for our next cruise. The only thing I have a problem with with southwest is that when I talked to them on the phone last month they will not gaurentee me that I can sit with my 4 year old....what kind of plane wont make sure you sit with a 4 year old?? They said kids preboard but if you go into or out of orlando then its all kids and most everyone preboards so they wont say for sure if I can sit with her or not. I'm flying jetblue again in August for a week in DIsney and I got a pretty good fare- 79.00 each way.
I am from West Babylon so Islip is really close to me too so I would like to fly out of there but I am just not sure about the seating thing....

Where is everyone planning on stayinghte night before the cruise? We are going to stay at the Raddisson again, it had a great pool!

We were planning to stay at the Radisson as well. I just found out that the kids have off from school the week before the cruise. Poor planning on my part! I wish I would have known sooner because we would have booked the Western for the week they are off...anyway...I think since the kids are off, why not do Disney that week. As it gets closer and the airfares start to come out is when we will decide whether or not to do WDW first.

We have taken SouthWest twice and on all 4 flights the seating was no problem. All 5 of us got to sit together (2 rows next to each other). We do pre board as do lots of other folks but it's really not bad. We did have a woman with her daughter board very late and there wasn't 2 seats together. The stewardess asked if someone was willing to switch seats to make room for the 2 to sit together. Many people offered to move. It does annoy me when I see a couple sit together and leave the center seat empty in hopes that no one will want to squeeze between them. Those are the people who mess everything up!

I too was nervous about the lack of assigned seating but the benefit of the closeness of the airport and the great fares we got made us choose SW.

How far in advance do you book the Radisson? I need to book rooms for everyone traveling with us (sister's family, brother, Mom) and I want to make sure we all get a room and a great rate too. Any tips on getting a great deal at the Radisson? Do you book through their website?

Thanks for any info you can share!

I booked through their website, last time I got it for 89.00 but this time it was 119.00. I wonder if my daughter will be off the week before the cruise....I have no idea when Easter even is and we dont get next years school calendar until the end of August!
I have Jetblue booked for our August Disney trip but maybe I will try southwest for the April one. I really like the TV's on jetblue though, they keep my daughter quiet the whole flight!

My kids loved the TV too. It was a hard decision to switch from Jet Blue but the price was better and the airport closer. They still talk about the TV's on the plane and they liked the play area for kids!

How far ahead do you book the shuttle from the Radisson to the Port? I've read so many different things on this board about the shuttle. Some say you have to book a "cruise" package to get the shuttle, others don't. What's your experience been? Thanks for the help!

Simone

Add us to the April 30 cruise!!! Yeah!!!!

It will be me, DH, DD's 3, 5, 7, my mom, two brothers and their wives!!!

Looking so forward to it!!! Can't Wait!

Lee (Littlebunny) and I are trying to get another family or two to join our Hummerzine (stretch Hummer) from MCO to the port (and maybe the return trip too if it works out). We'd be leaving the airport probably at 4 or 5 in the afternoon on Friday, April 29 and taking it to the Radisson. If you're interested, please email me. We'd like to get at least 4 more people and that would bring the price down to about $23 per person - what a way to start our trip!

Lisa, I hope it's okay for me to add this to your previous post. As Coleland (Lisa) posted, we're looking for a few more families to join us for the trip to the Radisson from MCO Friday April 29, in the Hummerzine from Happy Limo.

My party has 10, possibly 8, and Lisa's party has 3, possibly 4. The Hummerzine seats 20 Adults, and they give you a free vehicle to follow with all the luggage.

Also, I have 3 daughters coming, ages 3,5,7, and Lisa has a daughter coming age 6 1/2. If we could get some families with similar aged kids it would be great for them to meet beforehand.

You can either email Lisa or I, and my email is mldornfeld@yahoo.com.

Thanks!

Lee

My party is definitely at 4 and will stay that way. So we have at the least 12 - anyone interested please let us know. The cost of the Hummerzine including 20% gratuity (added by Happy Limo) is $390 at today's rates - so add your party to the mix and divide by the total and you'll get an idea of your cost. We thought this would be such a fun way to start our cruise!

I can be reached at coleland@juno.com (for some reason I can't be emailed through my profile - which I have changed to allow - but still won't lol!)

It sounds great to me but I would not know what time our flight was getting in until Jan when the release the flights for May for Jet Blue....I have 3 in the party..me , my mom and my then 5 year old daughter!

We are thinking about joining the April 30 Eastern, my ds will be 11 and another ds 2, any 10-12 year old boys out there.
Never cruised before, this will be on my ds2 nd birthday. Looks good.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

My nephew who will be on the cruise with us will be turning 12 4 days before we sail. I hope I got his age right! He is going into 6th grade this September so I think he is 11 now.

Shame on me, but I'll have to double check with my sister. He is mature for his age so I always think he is older. He's a great kid and there is no one else in our party his age. He'll be looking for some friends on the cruise.

This sounds great my son is going in grade 6 this September. I know it sound far away but time goes so fast, maybe you or your nephew could e-mail us before and they could get to know each other.

joeleshand,

I checked with my sister and I was right about my nephews age. He is also going into grade 6 this September. She said it would be great to get them acquainted prior to the cruise.

Have you booked yet? If you do book, they can exchange info and e-mail or IM each other a couple months before the cruise.

I think it would be fun for them to get to know each other and then meet up on the cruise.

Let us know if you are joining us!
