2005 ticket price increase!! Need Ap experts advice.

I know this might seem like it belongs on the budget board. But since there seems to be a lot of ap experts on this board I am asking it here.Hi I just read on the all ears website that 2005 uph ticket prices are increasing by 11.00 for childs and 12.00 per adult. We are planning a trip in april 2005 for 8 nights and were considering Ap's. with this price increase it doesn't add up to much more. My question is if they are increasing ticket prices does it follow that they will increase Ap's as well. And should I buy my Ap's ahead of time to avoid this increase?? I have read somewhere on these boards that you can buy Ap's and wait to have them activated until check in is this true?? Thanks for any thoughts or help on this. P.S. This is going to sound real stupid but do the 2005 prices start in 2005???

APs have already been increased $10.

If you're planning on 8 days, go with the APs and buy them ahead of your trip.

You will be sent vouchers that are exchanged and the AP is ACTIVATED on date of exchange, not when you purchased the voucher.

With all the perks and savings, those APs will almost pay for themselves!

I would buy the APs and then plan another trip right before they expire. We bought ours a long time before our trip.

Ok, so call me crazy but I am already thinking about my next trip which will be in Dec 2006 (when my new little princess will be 2)we plan to go for 10-12 days.

We got the length of stay last time for 7 days so I am assuming the AP sounds like the better deal for the next trip. We will stay on monorail, GF or Poly.

I don't know much about the AP so here are my questions,

When will the AP price increase again?

Can I buy an AP now at today's prices for 2006 and activate it when we go?

How do you get the AP room discount if the pass is not active?

Any other thoughts for a better way to go?

dreamalittledream.... if you are going for 10 - 12 days you should definately get an AP. The breakeven point is 8 days or more.

If you can afford to do it, I would pick up your AP's as soon as you can. The vouchers never expire so you can pick them up now and activate them when you get there. They would start the day you activate them and be good for a year.

You don't have to have the actual AP when you make your reservation, just when you check in. Most places will actually allow you to check in with your voucher and some will ask you to show them your activated AP later.

Last time I had a great rate with the winter Dream Maker package and we only went for 7 days. My DH suggested a longer trip for next time (he has no idea what he has started) so I am gatering info on the AP.

How are the AP rates for the Deluxes compared to AAA rates and where do you get the codes? I see them posted here but is that the only place?

I am a planner so I will want to book 8-10 months in advance, do they post codes that far ahead? (I know I can always change the ressies.)

Any other info I should look into?

I have never used AAA, but I have gotten AP rates in the 30-40%off range (30 being more common). Also, I can't recall anytime recently that the AP rates were announced 8-10 months out. Usually they are announced for a 3 month period, 2-3 months out from the start of the period. What you can do is reserve the room you want and then rebook when the rates come out.
