2005 Points for Disneyland Hotels?

Does anyone know the points for the Disneyland Hotels for 2005? They're not on the website and I never received any updated membership book (do I need to request one?). I'm looking for the Value season, specifically the Grand Californian. We have 63 banked points and would love to fit them into a West Coast vacation, even if it's just one night at Disneyland. Thanks in advance!

I don't know about the "value" season, but, for the summer season, they have significantly jacked up the point cost for all 3 hotels (from the 2004 rates).

The change was pretty dramatic. We were planning a midweek stay. For Sun-Thur nights, here is what MS provided to me:

Grand Californian Standard: 49 pts (prior was 34)
Grand Californian ThemePark View: 56 pts (prior was 41)

Disneyland Hotel Standard: 39 pts (prior was 28)
Disneyland Hotel Resort View: 46 pts (prior was 34)

Paradise Pier Standard: 35 pts (prior was 26)
Paradise Pier ThemePark View: 43 pts (prior was 34)

Keep in mind that these rates were for mid-week. The weekend (Friday/Saturday) rates are probably double.

I looked into cash rates as well -- and that's not much improvement. Disney has increased all hotel rack rates for the special 50th celebration and there are no tangible discounts available at this time. They clearly are expecting huge crowds and have opted to gouge their customers -- at least those who want to plan in advance.

As a few examples, the cash price (not including the 15% room tax) for GCH in the summer is $340 for a standard and $410 for a theme park view. (That's for one night folks.) Paradise Pier is not much better with a $235/$275 per night rate. The only discount I could find is 10% for AAA members.

Member Services has the entire point chart for next year. I don't know why they haven't bothered to post it (maybe because they know that they're going to get a bunch of negative feedback when they do it), but they'll provide you with the numbers if you give them a call.

I had e-mailed MS asking when the charts would be posted on the web site. They responded that they had no timetable for posting, but to call if I wanted the numbers. ..Now I know why they don't want to post them !! The increases are ridiculous.. We were contemplating a trip to LA next summer, as it is my daughter's last summer before college.. At those point levels, I think WDW in a 1-bedroom at OKW for a lot less points (for a lot more room) is where we will be !

Besides , our AP's expire 8/6/05! Sounds better all the time !

We're planning on spending a couple nights at the Grand Californian in conjunction with a visit to my parents during spring break next year. We'd done it before and had a great time. So we were anxiously waiting for the 2005 points to come out. When they were finally available from MS, I was stunned. I was expecting some increase because of the anniversary celebration, but not that much. During spring break, Sun - Thurs is 54 points for a standard view at the Grand Californian. Wow!

While it does seem a little like gouging, I prefer to look at it in a more positive light. Disney only charges what it thinks the market will bear. This certainly isn't a necessity, like hotel rooms in Florida after the hurricane. I'd like to think that if they can make a lot of money during this next year or so, it can only mean good things to come in the future--renovations, upgrades and new stuff!

Just a thought...

A couple of weeks ago I booked a week for March '05 at DLH Upper Floor for 35 points a night and that included weekends. MS told me that they evened out the points between weekdays and weekends.

at these rates, did they "even them out" or just charge the same for weekdays as weekends?

d-r: I thought about your question and I think they don't have to even them out since they're not a DVC property. I guess they can make the points whatever they want.

Thanks for all the great advice. In the meantime, I've discovered we can stay at HHI for a week on these points while we can always stay with my mom in California for FREE! Sort of a MVC (Mom Vacation Club)!

We booked a room at GC for the end of May for a Fri, Sat, and Sunday. The points were the same for each night and I was told the points have been leveled i.e. the same for all days, with no diff for the weekend. I do not know if there are seasonal differences for point useage. Maybe not as it is DL's 50th.
