Hi Friends:

Any recommendations for a place to purchase the 2005 Peg Perego Pliko P3 MT Stroller? babyride.com has it for $289 and free shipping (they have one color combination of the stroller for $269).

Thanks in advance.

Take care,

You can normally find it for a lot less on eBay, especially if you aren't picky about color!

Be careful about Ebay since sometimes Perego will not honor warranties from strollers purchased through Ebay. I have read some bad things about Babyride. You might try www.arunningstroller.com. They have great customer service and sell the P3 for $260.10 w/ free shipping. Not a great price difference from what you found though.

www.babycatalog.com has them for $260.10 - $289 with free shipping and they throw in a free cupholder. If you join their baby club (lowest membership is $25 for 1 year) you save 10% so the club would pretty much pay for itself with the P3 purchase and you could get additional savings throughout the year on future purchases.

I have a 2004 model in Black Sable and it's a great stroller!

Babycatalog.com is VERY ruputable. Their brick and morter outlet store is here in CT, and it's a fun store to go to! I have purchased several things from them and been very happy. You can also try babyuniverse.com - they have that stroller for $289 and free shipping as well. My sister purchased from them twice and has been very happy. Good luck!!

Just to chime in: I had great service from www.arunningstroller.com - that's where I got our P3. The owner's name is Marilyn and she is very helpful if you have any questions whatsoever (I even asked her opinion on the color of a Skip Hop diaper bag to match the Hip Hop color of the P3). She's very reputable among the internet stroller fanatic community :)

I LOVE our P3 - I sold it and had sellers remorse so I had to buy another one. This is a great Disney stroller - we love the canopy on it. I have the 05 Metallica !

I got mine from Albee Baby and had great service from them on that purchase and on MacLaren Twin. They have free shipping too (over $100 or something...).

Here's a link: Albee Baby Peg

I too LOVE the Pliko as does DD who really hated umbrella strollers.

KristinU, I just ordered a P3 in the hip-hop color off of albeebaby. I was wondering, what color Skip Hop Diaperbag did you go with? How do you like the hip-hop color? Looks cool online, I just hope I like it when it gets here. I was wondering also if there is a weight limit on the standing child. I couldn't find any specs on it. I was on the verge of ordering a Mac Techno XT (have a Volo already and wanted something that reclined) when I finally looked more closely at the P3 after seeing so many DIS'ers recommending it. The platform for the other kid to stand on sold me on it. Plus the bigger sunshade than the Mac. I can't wait to get it! Sad when a stroller gets you excited.LOL :rotfl:

I got mine in Hip Hop color from arunningstroller.com. They were the only place I could get that color at the time. The service was very prompt.

The stroller is great for Disney. We used it in June and my 2 yo DS and 5 yo DD loved it. The 5 yo can stand on the little running board as long as the 2 yo isn't reclining.

In May we took our Maclaren XT to Disney and while it steered well and had great handling - I had a skip hop attached to the back of the handles and it was very tippy. It drove us nots with always tipping over. It will even tip over with a shopping bag or so on it. I

I have always liked my P3 and like someone else sold it and then had to buy it back :o) Now I have 2 P3 and think this will be the perfect Disney stroller. I have one in Hip Hop and one in Metallica. They aren't tippy like the Macs are and you can't beat the hood on it in the Florida heat.

My only dilema is the Red one or the orange one ?!

I saw someone on the DIS saying that they put excersize weights on their Maclaren so it wouldn't tip. I have the organizer on mine and found the tipping to be a problem yesterday while at a local amusement park. I think I am going to get one or two of those weights and try it out for our Disney trip. LOVE the Mac...it handles so nicely and DH loves pushing it. I haven't checked the Peg Plikos out in person so I'm hoping I'm just as happy with it.

Anyhow,I'm so glad to hear the P3 is not tippy. I do think I am going to get the Skip Hop Duo Diaperbag to attach to it for more storage as long as it won't interfere with the kiddo standing on the platform.

The weights will probably work but keep in mind that their use can wear down your wheels and I think will void the warranty.

Laidies, I am newly pregnant after nine years. I feel like I am starting from scratch, things have changed so much, and I'm out of the loop.
Would the p3 be the stroller I should be looking at? Do I need to purchase the attaching car seat separatly? We will be going to Disney when the baby is 3 months. Would love some help. Shelly

Congrats on your pregnancy! My P3 hasn't arrived yet so hopefully someone else can give an real opinion on it. It does get alot of positive props. Here is a link to a stroller review site that may help you get familiar with some of the newer strollers. Baby GaGa stroller reveiws

The matching carseat is purchased separately, but the P3 will also accept other carseat brands I believe. I just ordered my P3 in the Hip-Hop color from www.Albeebaby.com for $269. Have fun shopping for the new baby stuff!

Congrats on the pregnancy! I have a 7 year old and a 3.5 year old and I know things have definitely changed since I was pregnant w/ my 7 year old. I have a 2004 P3 and it is a great stroller. The 2005 model is compatible with other carseat makes (Graco Snugride, etc) although before that, they say it is compatible with only the Perego seat. The 2005 model comes with a strap that will allow you to securely attach other brands of carseats but I believe you can get that strap separately to use with a pre-2005. The P3 would be a good travel stroller for an infant but would not be the only choice. A good forum board is the Baby Bargains board at:

http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=1

They have a forum dedicated to strollers. There is also a Yahoo Strollerswap group with over 4000 members who would be happy to offer advice. But the messages number in the hundreds each day, so don't be overwhelmed!

The P3 is sold as a travel system but while the Perego seat has it's fans, be sure to check out reviews on other car seats. The Perego seat is sometimes said to be heavy, overpriced and disliked since it cannot be installed w/out the base. Not sure if this is true for the most recent models though.

Thanks so much for your help. I didn't realize I could use any carseat with it, that will be helpful. Now to research those. I think the stroller and the carseat are the most important purchases I have to make. The wrong choice can make out lives miserable. Thanks also for the links. shelly

Not sure about using ANY carseat in it...but I know the Graco Snugride is compatible....on www.arunningstroller.com it does state in the description for the 2005 model:

"NEW! Universal Infant car seat attachment strap is included so any infant carrier can be attached."

I would double-check with Perego or try out the carseat with the stroller before buying to make sure it is compatible.
