For those who have done MNSSHP's in the past, I'm seeking any advice. I've noticed there will be 3 opportunties for me to go, as my travel dates are Oct 2-Oct 9, arriving early afternoon on the 2nd. First ?, what time does MK start letting people in who have tickets to MNSSHP? Second ?, would I want to do this on our first night? We have to be to the airport at 5:30 a.m., so i'm hoping kids will catch some zzzz's on the plane but they may just be to darn excited.. Original plan was to do the parks M-Thur (4 day park hoppers) and then do MNSSHP on Friday Oct 7.

Now my 3 choices are:
MHP - Sunday Oct 2
MHP - Tuesday Oct 4
MHP - Friday Oct 7.

Of course I will pre-order tickets, and I can't predict things like rain-storms or God-Forbid anymore hurricane like weather. Should we go the 1st night? Of course then they will be up late, and I don't want a cranky start to the week, so i think that option is out. Do I go mid-week, have park days on Monday & Tuesday, have the kids nap & go back to MK Tuesday night, then we would take a break from the parks on Wednesday, finish parks on Thur & Friday..

OH, the decisions! Any advice/tips would be great, is it typically "less" crowded mid-week rather than a Friday night? I remember reading the 1st Friday in October was sold-out last year, making it crowded, how many tickets do they sell for this event?

TIA!! Shelly  (who will drive herself completely banana's before the trip even gets here!)

I would pick Tuesday.

They start letting party goers in after 4:00p with just the party tickets. Then the park will close from 6:00p to 7:00p to decorate and clear out the park of non-party goers. If you are not eating in a restaurant that hour, they'll ask you to go to Tomorrowland so they can easily clear out the park. Then at 7:00p you can do whatever you want.

I would go with the Tues. It will be less crowded and you won't be tired from traveling.

 Beattyfamily. I know you will post some good advice in about 2 seconds!

Sept. 30, Oct. 2, 4, 7, 11, 13, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31, 2005

I would also pick Tuesday, as others have said.

We went in Oct.2004 and they let us into the Magic Kingdom at 4:00p.m. with just are MNSSHP Tickets. All I have to say is that it is a BLAST and that you will have an awesome time!

You are welcome! We will be there the same time in Oct & had the same 3 choices as you & we picked Tuesday Oct 4..

Going on your travel day would probably be too tireing, and you might not be able to enjoy staying very late in the MK. I'm sure the weekend parties can get very crowded as well. We're arriving on 10/7, and as cool as it would be to have the party to look forward to that night, I think we'll go the following Tuesday. You might also want to keep in mind (as I will) that now other parks will be open late with the 3 extra evening hours. You might want to see which night a park is open late that you are not interested in going to, and do MNSSHP that night (hope that made sense!)

Last year we had the same choices. We picked the Tuesday of our week. It was fantastic!!! :cool1: We walked on every ride we wanted to ride. My father (64) and I (37) made loops around the trick-or-treat lines (CM encouraged us to do it. :teeth: Only thing was it was humid, humid, humid. That was my only gripe. And since Disney cannot control the weather, it was, again, FANTASTIC. Tuesday is my vote!!!

Have a great time...we'll be there October 31st...leave us some candy!! :rotfl2:

To everyone for responding, I guess you have all answered my ?, Tuesday it is! I'm looking forward to it, my kids will think it's great to go trick or treating 2x this year, my dentist will probably say that is not so great :rotfl:

I am probably going to purchase an annual pass in order to get discounts on room (if available) and the DDE card. I see that you can get a discount on MNSSHP tickets for the day of. We will probably go tuesday the 25th. Should we just order ahead of time or would we have a pretty good chance of getting tickets at the discount? If so do you have to get them exactly that day or can we purchase them when we check in on the 21st?
