HI ALL!
Just got off the phone with HIFS , made a res for April 2005, many changes and probably more to come.
Nick Family Suites by Holiday Inn starts in Jan 2005.
Discounts will be a Quest for the old HIFS room rates,
We are booked at $180 a night WITHOUT A COMPLIMENTRY BUFFET BREAKFAST.
Breakfast is going to be priced in January 2005, plus there is going to be Character Breakfasts with the Nick Characters.
Well, things never stay the same, and the Old HIFS has to pay for the conversion to Nick Theme.
But. knowing the Disboard members The QUEST for a good discount will happen!

"THE MAGIC HAPPENS!!!"

For $180/night you could get 2 moderate rooms or 3 value rooms (with decent discounts) and stay on site. I wonder if HIFS is missing their market.

I've heard a lot of good things about HIFS, I've driven by it and my friends stayed there. They loved it.

But there is NO WAY I would pay $180 a night to stay there. Do you know what kind of house, with my own private pool and jacuzzi, I could get for $180 a night??

WOW!

That is why we cancelled our reservations with them for 12/29/2004 to 1/09/2005 with tax it came out to 1777.00 I thought it would be fun for the little ones. But thanks to the boards here I really started doing more research and we rented a really nice 3bdrm 2 bath private pool home for the same exact time frame for 1225.00!! :Pinkbounc Now I really cant wait to go! Normally we stay on-site so this is all new to me.

We stayed at HIFS 2 years ago and loved it. We loved the low key family orientated fun of it all. My worry is that it is going to become way too commercialized. We are planning on staying there in late Nov. and considered going back next Mothers Day, but when they gave me a rate of $161 as a discounted rate for next May, I much rather get a condo. We'll enjoy it in Nov. and wait until the newness of it wears off and the prices come down before we return.

I was on the HIFS website and I thought that the free breakfast was not going to continue

It stated something like free breakfast remaining until 2005

That is what I was told when I had originally made our res. That the complimentary B-buffet was going for the rest of 2004. And that there would be a charge for it in 2005. I just thought the prices were a little high!::yes::

cause I saw an ad--I think it was with the Orlando magic packet--that said if you stayed at HIFS in 2004 then you get 25% of a stay in 2005.

So I called to validate this...

They said yes this is true and that with this discount my rate for a late June 2005 stay would be $150.

I'm not that great with math, but does that mean the "rack" rate is $200/nightly? Wow! That's really expensive, and no free breakfast!

April 2005 is still pretty far away. And the beginning of the month is close to Easter (and school breaks) so they might not want to offer discounts yet.

It should be fun to hear the reports!
