DCL website has posted the remaining dates for 2005 for both Wonder and Magic. The Magic is unavailable between the middle of May and the end of August.

CALIFORNIA HERE WE COME

Moving the Magic to California without a replacement boat? Wow, that sure does put a kink in our plans.

We were getting ready to book a large group of family members for early June, 2005. Somehow, the Mexican Riviera ports of Mazatlan, Acapulco, and Puerto Vallarta don't seem quite as appealing as Grand Cayman, Cozymel, Key West, and Castaway Cay. I've been to a few of those mexican towns, and they are quite old and dirty.

I just got off the phone with Disney. The fella I spoke with took about 10 minutes to get information from the "marketing department." He came back and told me that those months are blocked out right now because Disney intends to change the ports-of-call for the summer months, but he assured me that the boat will still be based out of Port Canaveral for the entire year. He stated that not all of the new ports have given final approval, so Disney must wait a few weeks before releasing the dates for reservations. He encouraged me to fax in my desired dates and that I would receive a phone call from Disney as soon as my date became available for bookings.

Now I'm getting confused. I'm not sure what to believe.

Cozumel is also part of Mexico. Sorry couldn't resist. :)

We're in the same boat, so to speak (couldn't resist that either, LOL). I grew up in SoCal & I'm planning a cruise in 2005 with my parents, who still live there. I didn't have any desire to visit those areas when I was a few hours drive away, even less to fly for 6-7 hours to get there.

Ok. So I call the Castaway Club number to see if I could get a quote on the December 17th 7-day Western (05) since it IS listed on the official website. First of all, she answers the phone "Disney's Castaway CAY, how may I help you?" Ok, she meant Castaway CLUB, not CAY. Right there I knew I was in trouble.

She pretty much told me that it wasn't printed on the website and I was seeing things. I told her that the dates are indeed listed but wasn't able to get a quote online. Well, forget that. She also said very emphatically, that she "DOES NOT KNOW" when they will be released.

UGH...end of my rant. Thanks for letting me vent.

Yes, I've been to both. While I am no big fan of any of the Mexican resort towns, at least in my view, there is no comparison between Cozymel and the older "Mexican Riviera" cities. In Mazatlan, the shanty town shacks are literally across the street from the resort beaches with the posh hotels. That's not my idea of a pleasant vacation experience.

I hope, for both our sakes, that Disney will have the Caribbean iteneraries still available in June, 2005.

I just went to their site and couldn't get any of the added months to show dates for the 7 night cruise. I really want to book Christmas 2005. :(

Now that the dates are listed has anyone tried to reserve any of the new dates over the phone? I don't want to nag my TA if she can't do anything yet.

I just checked the DCL web site again and it's showing the same dates as it has been for about 2 weeks. The last one showing for the Magic May 7-14. All of the months are showing in the drop down box but no dates listes past the May 7th cruise. Hopefully they will be there soon.

Phew, glad I found this thread. I was idly checking for September 2005, as you do, and when I saw that there were no dates available. But if I've understood the thread correctly, no dates are giving quotes after May. Do I understand that this is because they are finalising the itineries? The shock has befuddled my brain and I'm not sure what the reason is.

We rebooked on board and really wanted May 21st or 28th. Those dates were unavailable so we booked April 9th with the hopes of switching when the dates come available. I have heard that they are not available yet because of new ports of call being added. When I looked on the DCL site this am there were still no dates for the 7 day listed past May 7-14. I think I will call Disney today and ask for an update if they have one. If I get any helpful info I will post it.

There definitely is a difference in the website. If you go to the itineraries page it now lists cruises for Sept. - Dec '05. It shows the alternating Eastern/Western itineraries. These cruises were not listed on the website last week. I agree with the previous post that these months/year were in the drop down menu before and you still cannot book them on the website. I plan to call this morning to see if I can get a quote for Dec.

are you guys seeing things? I am on the DCL website right now and I don't see any changes???!!!!

I've cleared the cache and am not seeing any dates for 2005 summer either. 2004 is there, with some dates in red, indicating a different itinerary.

The new dates were there this morning just like they were there yesterday. When I called DCL this morning the CM did not know what I was talking about, but I told her that I saw the dates posted on the website. She thought that maybe they would not allow booking for these dates until all of 2005 was available. I guess they received too many phone calls about it today....

I have already booked my Sept. 2005 cruise thru DU. It seems strange that a TA can book before Disney.

Another oddity.... last night after reading that late 2005 dates were up, I went and tried to get a quote for October 2005, and it actually gave me one. I was very surprised b/c everyone else was saying the computer wouldn't give a quote for that time.

I know it was 2005 b/c I double-checked the dates with our calendar, and the dates for the cruise corresponded with my 2005 dates.

Weird, huh? I didn't book it as I was only wanted to get an estimate.

Today it won't let me put those dates in. The 2005 dates are still in the pull down menu, but it says "Ooops..not available for those dates" or something like that.

It looks as if your 2005 cruise is a 4-day. The cruises in question here are the 7-day. I believe you can book the 3 and 4 day cruises through 12/05.
