*2005* Dates Are Posted on disneycruise.com!!!!!

For those of us who have dreamed of working with Disney - would you really want to have to "field" these questions now AND take all the phone calls once the announcement is made?!

WHEW!!!!!

IT would be nice if the CC members would get first shot at these cruises, but with the exception of that towel and pin set, we are all just cruisers!!

Rae,

I wouldn't mind fielding the questions and taking the phone calls, as long as Disney didn't ask me to lie about something. I could easily say "A further announcement is expected in May - new itineraries are being considered - we've been asked not to discuss any that might be under consideration until the final decision is made and the announcement is made public. I'd strongly recommend that you check back during early May."

I couldn't say "There will be no west coast cruises or repositioning cruise", unless I had good reason to believe that such a decision had been made.

Could I do such a job 40 hours / week? - probably not.

While consideration for CC members would be nice, as a Disney Vacation Club member, I'd really like some consideration there also, perhaps a member cruise for repositioning. However, Disney may just make that a special Disney & Comcast Cast Member cruise

You never quite know, do you?!

Hugs!

Man, can you imagine how fast the west coast cruises will book up once they are announced?? I think the DCL phone lines will implode!! :)

I do think it will be nice for the west coast Disney fans to have the Magic there for a couple of months AS LONG AS the ship returns home after that! We are planning to do a 4 day in 2005 anyway, so it doesn't effect us. In 2006, however, we want to do a 7 day again (every other year we splurge for a 7 day)! So I hope they don't plan any surprises that year in September!

Something that I don't think anyone has mentioned in my scan of the responses is the possibility of repositioning cruises! If they do in fact move the Magic to the West Coast it has to get there somehow (and back). That could mean a Panama Canal Cruise also. Hmmm, how to manage that....

If they post a repositioning through the canal in May, 2005, you won't have to ask me twice! I'll be on the phone booking before I finish reading the news.

I talked with my DH about it and we are ready! Just post those itineraries and away we go!

I was thinking repositioning also!! But I wonder if the Magic is small enough to make it through the canal --

Both the Magic and the Wonder are built to panamax standards and thus should meet the specifications to navigate the canal.

We enjoyed our first cruise with disney on a 7day western in 2003. We are anxiously awaiting to book again for 2005 with friends. Like everyone else, patiently waiting.. I called Disney Cruise and spoke to a cast member who informed me that the rates for the summer months will not be released now until this summer.. In phone calls past, i was told early spring.. I surely hope it is sooner. I myself would not like to see repositioning of the ship.. Hey.. WHAT IS A DISNEY CRUISE WITHOUT CASTAWAY CAY........

Please say it isn't true. I cannot wait until the summer! I thought waiting until May was bad enough.

We wanted to do a New Years Eve cruise 2005, but it looks like it won't happen. I can't believe that they did not do a special cruise again like this Xmas. I don't want to be getting on a ship Christmas Eve and getting off New Years Eve. Maybe if the Jan 2006 week comes through we will do that. Oh well, maybe 2006.

We are actually going on the 12/24/05 cruise. We are thinking of staying at the BCV on New Year's Eve so that we can go to the boardwalk and see illuminations. We figure that even though it will be really crowded, we can enjoy ourselves without even going into a park. This will be the first time we will be away for Christmas, but I cannot imagine a better place to be.

Maybe someone coming off the Magic this week can tell is if Donna has opened up to any more information.

I just called DCL and the CM told me we could see summer '05 as early as next week. I didn't get too excited though b/c she didn't really seem to know what she was talking about concerning anything I asked.

shelly3girls . . . Isn't it funny when you just *know* they don't know what they are talking about? LOL

I would love to find out within a week or so. I'm even bracing myself for the big $$$ that I expect this will cost.

It is also funny to realize by "knowing" I must also realize that I am a complete addict, cruising nut, compulsive planner .....you put a name to it!

I wonder what the next CM would say if you were to call back and ask the same question. It's funny.

Hi everyone,

I just posted this on my "live from the magic" thread, but I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I have a message on my stateroom phone from Donna, saying that most likely the bookings for the summer of 2005 won't be available till summer of 2004. I listened to the message over and over again to make sure I heard her right, and that is indeed what she said.

This all came about because if you book onboard you can get 10% off, and a $200 stateroom credit. At the information meeting, she said it would only apply to the current Eastern or Western routes. I could make a reservation, and transfer it once the summer of 2005 opens, but I would not get the discount if the itinerary was anything else. I filled out a cruise quote request card, and put a long note on the back to her. I explained that all 5 cruises I have sailed, I booked 1 1/2 years in advance, and this right now would be the time to book the summer of 2005! What benefit would it be to me to book onboard now, pay the deposit, wait for the summer of 2005 bookings to open up, and possibly not get the discounts??? She said at this time they could not say whether the discounts would apply to the summer of 2005 cruises, and they would not be open for booking until summer of 2004. No one is talking or saying a thing!

Sorry,
Robin
