10/25 UPDATE. This swap will close on 10/29 at 12pm EST to allow time to coordinate trees and swap details. I will do my best to get everyone who has signed up a tree. If you are the first person listed on the resort (earliest check in dates) you will most likely need to supply a tree. If you cannot or are unwilling to do so, please post so that we may try to make alternative plans. If you are willing to supply a tree and I DO NOT have you down for doing so, please let me know. Thanks!

I'd love to have a small tree in our room for Christmas. Maybe we could post by resort and date and pass the tree on to DISers after check-out? We'll pattern it after the stroller swap on the Family Board? We'd just need one small tree for each resort to start. Each DIS family will provide some small decorations to leave with the tree and pass on to the next family.

We will need several DISers to volunteer to buy the original trees for the swaps. Whoever has the earliest check in dates would have this task. The pre-lit small trees can be bought for around $15. Perhaps we could have Wegoshop deliver small prelit trees from WalMart (they'll shop anywhere you request). I'm willing to start the GF tree, unless someone else checks in before 11/29.

If dates overlap at a certain resort, you may have to go to a resort you are not staying in to pick up a tree, or drop it off at a different resort. I will try to coordinate the pick up/drop off so that it is as convenient as possible. Also, the 1st person checking in will be responsible for starting the tree. If there are several DISers at one resort, more than one person may be responsible for starting a tree. Please make any suggestions and post them here!

I think this is a great idea! We will be at POR from 11/29 to 12/6.

Do we just swap the tree and bring our own ornaments? If no one at POR wants to take over on 12/6, I am moving to the Poly from 12/6 to 12/10 and could swap it there.

Well, you could bring some things you wouldn't mind leaving. I'd probably have little lights and maybe some of my Christmas ornaments (that I've made on the Craft board on mine). I personally vote for leaving it all.

Cool. That will be great. My dd will be so excited!! I didn't even think of decorating since we are going so early, but since I usually put up the decorations the weekend following Thanksgiving, and we won't this year because of the trip, that will be a fun thing to do.

I'll tell you, the next 87 days can't go by fast enough for me!!

I did this with a fellow DIS'er last year. To make it easier on us, I shipped a small 3 foot pre-lit tree down ahead of time to the resort. I think I paid $18 for it on the Walmart website. When we checked out of the resort, I boxed the tree up again and left it at the front desk with the DIS'ers name, resort and reservation information written on it.

I would love to do something like this, if possible. We will be at Wilderness Lodge, departing on 12/4. I have one of the tall craft trees - looks like a tall cedar tree, with white lights. I don't usually put ornaments on it, we pin the pins we trade for on them.

we'll be at PO one night (12/17) and at the Poly 9 nights (12/18-12/27)

I could pick up the 17th or 18th, or even a few days later (if someone was leaving the 19th or 20th

Great idea!! I was planning to get a tree and would love the souvenier space going home and to share the magic. We will be at ASMovies 11/27-12/4. Since we'll be amongst the earliest, I will provide the tree. I would also be willing to drop it at any All Star resort if needed.

Can I join in? I loved to get involved if I can. We'll be at WDW Dec 19 th thru Jan 1. Not sure about our resort yet. I was hoping the AP rates would have been out by now, or maybe my travel agent is in limbo. I found 200 and some change for conceirge for the Swan and Dolphin. I'm not sure if it's a good idea never stayed at them before. Anyway, just let me know what I need to do. I can even bring a tree down also, if needed.

oh, this would be great! I just booked our dec. trip for the WL Dec 20th-25th and would LOVE to do a tree thing!!! I am bringing white lights for my porch. but you need a tree for christmas! so include me! just let me know what I need to do!

Triplefigs, thanks for updating my dates, but can you change it a bit? I can't start a tree at POR and not carry it with us to WL - there will be mutiny when I get there! LOL! it's both my kid's birthdays that week, and I need the tree for each leg of the trip. I can do WL though!
