Welcome Back Deb!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! We're going to my in-laws for dinner so I can take it easy today ::yes::

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. We are back from the beach and it has been raining here all day long, good thing we missed most of it. Got up nice and early to go shopping.

Mary, not much longer before we see FL sunshine :sunny:

Deb, glad to hear you made it home safely. BTW, where do you live in England? We have friends over there and try to visit each year.

I am so ready to see sunshine and warm weather. We had out first real snow of the season yesterday!

All of our shopping is done! Got the labels done for the Christmas cards and the cards designed/written (I always do our own). Hope to get them printed out before we leave and then mail them as soon as we get back.

We are packing this weekend! Just think that one year from now we'll be packing for the cruise! I'm getting very excited seeing what those on the ships this Christmas will experience.

I'm also going to try and do the December issue of the newsletter this weekend. I'm off of work Monday and we don't leave until Tuesday morning so hope to get it up Monday at the latest.

jlljill we'll have our lanyards on with our Home Depot Mickey Heads on them almost all the tme. We are doing Candlelight Processional on the 3rd, MVMCP on the 4th, and the Mega Mouse Meet on the 6th. Hope to see you then! BTW did you hear about the sleigh rides they are doing over at Wilderness Lodge? We are doing one on the 2nd!

I am happy to report that the December issue of the newsletter is up and ready for review. Those of you who have given me your e-mail address should have been sent a reminder by e-mail as well.

Hope you enjoy it!

Nice job, Mary!

Have a wonderful time in FL. Wish I were on my way back down there.

Where is everybody? Been pretty quiet here the past few days.

Karyn

Hi Everyone.

Mary, the newsletter was great. It brought sunny warm weather to NY. Have a great time in florida. I am looking forward to going in 3 weeks. I heard from my in laws that it is chilly in the am in Boynton Beach. We had a busy weekend and it was alot of fun. Back to school tomorrow. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Talk to you all soon. Fondly-Gail1771::MinnieMo

 Thanks for the great newletter, Mary!! Have fun at WDW. We're headed for DL in a couple of weeks.
I don't know about everyone else, but we've been pretty busy here. I like to have all of the cards, gifts, decorating, etc done if not before Thanksgiving, then shortly after. I met my goal! Now I can just sit back and wait to go see the Mouse!

Great newsletter - Thanks Mary!

I'm jealous of all who are getting to go to Disney soon - oh well.... Guess we'll get back eventually..........

Have a great week!

Mary, thanks for another great newsletter. I'm really interested in reading about St. Lucia next month. Have a great trip and I will be looking for you Thurs. night, can't promise a thing with a 9½ in tow at the MK.

Still readjusting a little bit to the time difference.....but we're getting there now!!

Jilljill: We live in the small town of Malvern which is in Worcestershire, approx 1 hour from Birmingham and 2.5 hours from London if that helps place us! Where do your friends live?

Mary: Have a fantastic time at WDW, I can't wait to hear all about it and wish I was still there!

Gail and Mick: e-mail to follow I promise! We had a great trip, were up graded from a standard to preferred view at BWV which was nice! LOVED the cruise, but 4 nights just wasn't long enough! We had a rough first night, but the rest was calm seas and blue skies. Had 3nights at Portofino: beautiful hotel, FOL was great, but it lacked the 'disney touch'...can't explain, but you'll know what I mean! It was the first time that we stayed at OKW and we fell in love, I could live there!!!! Would love to add on!

with love, Debsxx

Debs,
We used to fly into Birmingham. I love to visit the Cadbury factory, mmmmmm!!! We have friends that live near Telford, Shropshire. We were just there visiting in February. And we have friends that lived in Kenilworth, near Stratford, but they have moved to Bournemouth. We have not been to see them since they have moved.
Glad to hear you had a good trip. I agree the 4 day is not long enough, bt it is better than nothing. I think the 10 day will spoil all of us and then we won't think the 7 day is long enough

Hi to all. Hope everyone had a good Holiday.

I'm home with a sick daughter today. Just a little stomach bug. Hopefully, she's better tomorrow.

I won't be in chat Friday. I will be at a Girl Scout sleepover with my DD. I don't think we can possibly shove any more activities into this month. I'm sure glad I'm not doing much Christmas gift giving this year. I wouldn't have time to wrap them! The kids know that most of their Christmas this year and next is the cruise, and the in-laws are the same. So that just leaves my Mom to buy for. Of course, her birthday is in Dec, so that's an extra gift, but I'll figure something out!

Take care!

:wave2:
Sorry I have not been on the boards lately. My computer has been giving me fits -
We were planning to go to my parents for Thanksgiving and spend a few days with the Mouse but, the kids couldn't miss school and I couldn't really leave home with out them. Now I am going through WDW withdrawl.

Garry is headed to Fla as I write. He left just a few hours ago. He had a few days off and couldn't resist. I unfortuneately couldn't take time off work right now. (and the kids with school) Man it was sooo much easier when they were in grade school. Mary needs to look for him - or he for them.

Mary great job on the latest newletter. You really do a fantastic job!!

Hope everyone is having fun as you prepare for the holidays.

Take care and God Bless
Vicki

Vicki, glad to hear that you and gaRry are still around. Sorry about your computer problems - my parents have been having the same.
DD and I head to WDW tomorrow afternoon. I have heard it is supposed to be rather chilly there this weekend. Still better than being cold at home.
Have a good rest of the week everyone.

We are a family of 4 ( children ages 10 and 6 )which are booked into a Cat 11 ( inside stateroom ) for the 10 day cruise.
Can anyone comment on the size of this room for our family.
I figure we will NOT be in our room very much, except of course for sleeping........but I am now having second thoughts about the size.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Greetings everyone from WDW! We arrived yesterday and I think we have had one of the most perfect days. Our room wasn't ready but we got all our requests met (upper floor, king bed, Magic Kingdom view). After having lunch at the Poly we called and the room was ready.

I love the view! We overlook the Magic Kingdom and I can sit in bed and see the Castle!

jilljill - the weather was perfect! We had light jackets on last night be were in short sleeves all day.

Vicki - how long will gaRry be here? Is he planning on going to the DIS meet on Thursday night or to the Mega Mouse Meet on Saturday? We'd love to hook up with him here!

I love this place at holiday time - but I'm willing to give it up next year for the cruise.::yes::

afff - welcome to this great and crazy group and to the DIS. I've never stayed in a Cat 11 hopefully someone who has can answer.I have found the rooms very roomy but there is only two of us in our room.

Hello Afff. Welcome to the DIS. We stayed in a cat10 with a split bath with just our DD this past August. That worked well with the split bath. Cat11 does not have a split bath and the room is a little smaller. If you could afford it I would suggest moving into a cat10 inside room. Since your children are older that might help having the split bath. Our Daughter will be crusing with us and so will my son. Our daughter will be 7 this March and our son will be 3 in June. I needed the bath for our son but the split bath helps when getting ready beacuse the it has two sinks and mirrors. The little extra square footage helps too. I looked at a cat11 when we were on the ship and I felt it would be to small for us so we went with the cat10. We were lucky enough to get a secret porthole on deck 5. They have obstructed views but there is a window with light coming through. They rate it a cat 10 because of the obstructed view. It was originally suppose to be a cat 9. We also wanted to be on that deck beacuse that is where the children's program is. I hope this info. helps a little.

Mary, It is so cold in NY this morning. 21!! I am thinking of you and everyone on their way to WDW. I wished we could of joined you all but we really can't pull Emily out of first grade as we are for 3 days during the holiday break. We leave for Florisda 12/21 and I am counting down the days. This trip there is no WDW. Bo Hoo!! Your view sounds awesome. Which hotel are you staying in?? I'm sure you all will have a great time. I look forward to hearing about it.

Hi Vicki, It was nice to see your post. When I get a chance I will e mail you.

Hi Deb, when you get a chance e mail me about your trip. I would love to hear Jake's experience on the Disney Cruise.

Have to go the children are getting up and I have to get them ready for pre school and Elementary school.

I hope everyone has a great day. Gail1771

Thanks for your replies and advice....I just rebooked into a Category 10.
I'm feeling a little better now.
I wish my pocketbook allowed us to go even bigger.

ARRRRR! My post didn't post!

I welcomed Afff to the group, and said about what the others said about the space. We were in a cat 10 on the 7th deck on our first cruise and really were very happy with it. One thing I like about the inside cabins is that the "living" room is on the side closest to the door. When you have a window/verandah, they put the bed on the side closest to the door, and you have to walk around it all the time. Even though our Cat 5 had the same floor space as our cat 10, the cat 5 felt more cramped.

I also asked whether your kids were boys or girls. Our DS will be 11 on the cruise, and our DD will be 12.

Hopefully, this will actually post this time!
