Man, I can't believe lots of the people on our first cruise are going to be on this one! I know we're going to break the record for posts!

As I put in my feeler post (thanks Joanna for pointing this one out), we were looking for this Xmas, but couldn't turn down the cool ports!

When I have more time, I'll read through the posts to "get to know you all".

For now, our family includes me (Lisa, currently 39, Program Manager for the Navy), DH Tim (currently 45, Logistician for the Navy), DD Kaylie, currently 11, DS Casey just turned 10.

This is our 3rd cruise. We did the inaugural Western with WDW Goose, Joe&Joanne, MJASP, and a bunch of others.

Your welcome Lisa...Glad you found this thread. I feel I should be on it, but I don't think its going to happen, but never say never.
Kaylie and Amanda would really have a blast on this one. I wish I could get the newsletters just to pretend I'm going.

I just called Disney and booked my in-laws into the adjoining cabin with ours. We wanted to send them on a cruise for their 50th anniversary last year, and they wouldn't go by themselves.

I called and told them that they'd never get a chance to do it again, and that they could back out with no penalty up til next October. I think they'll at least go along for now.

So add another Sanders family to the list, in room 2571. It will be Kenny and Diane, and I know they wouldn't want me to disclose their ages!

They are both retired. Dad sold steel for many years and Mom was a nurse (Vicki, one for you!). Mom is a cancer survivor (breast and ovarian), and recently had a scare thinking she had lung cancer. It turned out to be a false alarm, which was another button I pushed to make them come on the trip (you know Mom, we thought we were going to lose you and you never would have had the chance to do something like this trip!).

In case you can't tell, I really deeply love my in-laws and having them on the trip will make it even better.

We just received our official confirmation! We have two adjoining cat. 10's on Deck 2! This is the lowest on the ship we've ever been before. (been on decks 6 & 7) Any major differences or advice? Thanks!

catspjs, where on deck 2 are you? We've always been on deck 7, and I'm a little worried about the location. We're wait listed for deck 7, but now that I've added the in-laws, I don't think its very likely we can move both of us up.

Our rooms are 2571 and 2573. It looks like we're under either the atrium or lumiere's. I don't think that will be too bad. I wouldn't want to be under beat street!

tkd lisa, That's wonderful that you have your in-laws joining you! Tell your mother-in-law that we have something in common because I'm a survivor of ovarian cancer as well!

I'll add them to the list when i get home (we're on vacation right now up at the Mall of America).

I hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day weekend. I am happy to have the extra day off work. It hasn't been a time of rest though we have been getting a new home ready for 4 of our horses (putting up pasture fencing, cleaning out the barn and so forth) Manual labor = stress reduction?? I should be really destressed when we are finished.

Lisa which areas did your MIL work? I have been in OB for 17+ years. She also has something in common with my mother, my mom has been a breast cancer survivor for 16 years. We did ask my parents to come on a cruise with us but mom won't get that far from land. She prefers to keep her feet planted firmly on ground. (she won't fly either)


Well I had better get going the fence won't put itself up and GarRy needs help.

WDWLVR Hey I just read page 26 and DD, DS and I will be passing through Chicago on the 14th, returning from a show in Springfield. If the site is close to the highway and we can make the time we may just stop by.

DD Vanessa says she would like to get started emailing some others her age, any one else interested?? She corrected me she would like to IM some others from the cruise - "email is tooooo slow". She does post on the teen sites as uptown_girl44.

Vicki: Mom primarily worked in pediatrics, but probably the last 10 years she was the night supervisor for the whole hospital. When I was pregnant with DD and taking pre-natal exercise classes sponsored by the hospital, you should have seen the nurses who ran the class when I said I was Diane Sanders DIL! Man, was she one respected woman!

Mary: Glad to hear you're also on the survivor list. The ovarian and breast cancer were found just as Mom was nearing retirement, when I was pregnant with DD (hard to believe it was almost 12 years ago!). She worked all the way through the radiation treatments, because she couldn't let her nurses down during the holidays (diagnosed just before Thanksgiving, treatment ended just before New Years). Enjoy the Mall of America. I used to go there for work alot before the mall was built. Went a few times after it opened, then changed programs and haven't been back for probably 8 years.

GaRry: I also thought of another common link. My FIL and my husband were both marines. Dad was in WW2 and Korea (he earned the purple heart in WW2 and was at the Chosin Reservoir in Korea). Semper Fi for both of them!
