While he was there he made our ressie at the Radisson, in the king jacuzzi suite. If we can get four more families to book they will give us a group discount. We did the parking package, for just $10.00 more that the room alone.

We stayed here last time before the cruise and had a DIS meet at the pool the evening before we sailed. Any one interested in the Radisson?
Vicki...

We certainly intend to stay there. Hadn't even thought about booking it yet since we're still 494 days out. Didn't know you could even do that until you were within a year out. We'll be arriving late after a 9½ hour drive, though, so we'll be arriving too late to enjoy a DIS meet there.

Did GarRy say how to make the booking to get the group affiliation?

fyi... during a recent thread where someone had bad things to say about the Radisson, the GM of the property confirmed that you can book the lowest rate and still park there. You don't have to book a rate that specifically includes parking.

Checking in from England!!! Myself, my husband and our son Jake(3 yrs) will be sailing with you all! We are in room 7012 outside porthole and have an early dinner seating. We're really excited about spending xmas away for the first time!!! Would love to meet up with you, especially any families with small children!

Let me know if you have ever been on the DCL at xmas before as I'd love to know what it's like!

Feel free to e-mail me at : eddie.debs@virgin.net

See you in Dec 2004!

Hi Debs Hill, We have a son that will be 3.5 at the time of the cruise. Is your son 3 now or at the time of the cruise??? My son is so chatty at age two. It would be nice to get the boys together on the cruise. We also have a daughter who will be 7.5 at the time of sailing. Please feel free to e mail me at sands1@optonline.net Thanks, Gail1771

Vicki (wdwgoose), We are also going to stay at the Radisson for the 12/18/04 sailing. I did not call them yet because I thought you could not book a room until 1 year from date of arrival. Count us in. Let me know if there is a special code to book this under or a certain name your husband set it up under so we can all get the discount. You can also count us in to meet with you all the night before the sailing. I would apprecitae it if you could E mail me at the above address and let me know what the booking is under.

What is this SCAVENGER HUNT all about??? Could someone fill us in??? It sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks, Gail1771:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Count us in for the Radisson as well. We haven't booked because like everyone else said I thought we had to wait until a year out. Don't think we'll get there in time for a meet however. Plan on working the day before and flying out that evening.

Vicki if there is a code we are supposed to be using for the group rate let me know and I'll be happy to put it in the newsletter.

Karyn mentioned to me that one of the other groups was doing a scavanger hunt in Key West. I think I remember reading about this but don't know any details. Is this something we as a group would be interested in? Would anyone like to take charge of looking into and doing sign-ups?

Mike (Madcoco) also mentioned to me that he has worked at the Mel Fisher artifacts in Vero Beach so if anyone is interested in going to the Mel Fisher museum in Key West he'd be available for questions.

Since Key West is our first stop should we make it the first port we focus on in the newsletter?

Drop me an e-mail if you have any favorite stories about Key West that you'd like to share.

Hi GaRry!!

We are interested in the Raddison, please let me know. Seeing we are organized so early we should take advantage of a group rate, I'm sure there will be enoughof us!!!

DS13 and I will be there!:bounce:

This will be our first cruise. I'm still trying to decide which TA to use, as soon as I do and pay the deposit, I'll post out cabin # and other info.

Being a single mom, I've always been afraid to cruise. After spending the last few days exploring this board, I know son and I both will have a blast.

I've decided it was time to stop lurking and post. We (DH and I) are going on the 10 day cruise. We are very excited to be going (almost more so than our trip to the BCV in December of this year). It's just the two of us. I'm 25 now and DH is 27. We have no kids. We would be interested in finding other couples to meet up with on the cruise. This is such a great and informative site. I really appreciate all the info everyone contributes. It's been very helpful.

Anyone know if DCL will allow you to decorate your cabin door and cabin? I can't imagine waking up Christmas morning without a tree.

Gail (and anyone else who wants a countdown clock) just go over to the tech board. There is a post there called something like "Get your countdown timers here". Just follow the instructions and you'll soon have it!

Disney sells cabin decoration kits for bon voyage, anniversaries and birthdays so I don't think they'll have a problem with Christmas decorations.

On our May cruise one of the DIS'ers decoartes their door and it looked really cute. Thinking of doing the same thing. Just make sure you use either magnets (the doors are metal) or easily removeable tape. Don't use something that will be hard to get off.

WOW we are continuing to grow Welcome to all the new Christmas cruisers.

Spoke with Garry earlier - he said if we can get a rough idea of the number of people that want to stay at the Radisson and the type of room we (HE) can call to get the group rates. If those interested want to email us the type of room they want (double, king suite, single etc.) and the # in the party we can get prices and call the group ressie desk. We will try to have the prices by the end of the week if you all want us to.

Got to go work comes early in the morning!!

Vicki

I've read other Christmas threads in the past and see that cruisers bring tiny Christmas trees and various decorations and lighted wreaths for their doors and stuff. Everybody gets really festive for Christmas cruises! Sounds like so much fun! Just be prepared to bring an bag for the decorations! AND any presents you might bring!
