We are booked and ready to go have 2 stateroom cat 6 & cat 11. Myself , DH in Cat 6 and DD's 21 & 17 at sailing across the hall in cat 11.
This will be our 4th cuise with Disney, 2nd X-mas cruise.
Giving up 10 days at WDW over Spring break for this cruise.
Have not met up with any DIS members yet. My DH and Myself work so much don't get to meet many new people. I think we forgot how. My DH is a huge sports fan, and loves to talk sports and disney. Would be good for him to meet some new people with the same interests.

Mary, looks good! Hey, I thought I led you to Alex!!!!

robertsb glad to see you're joining us! It's good to see a few more "young adults! My DS and DD (21 and 18) will be glad more of their age group are joinging us! All_Ears had a college age son as well! Don't worry, in the next 16 months you're going to get to know all of us very very well! We won't be strangers but family! Feel free to pm me if your DDs want to start corresponding w/ my kids. We have them in a cat 11 across from us, too - tho we couldn't quite swing a cat 6 for ourselves! I've got a window, but I'm really going to miss my verandah!

Doing some bbqing tonight w/ the neighbors. Everybody else having a great weekend?

Cheers!

Karyn

Karyn -you did - what can I say - my brain is fried!

I'm getting all my e-mails and names mixed up.

Please forgive me!

Hey, nothing to forgive! You gotta understand I had to give up my Nov cruise w/ DH - glad we got something out of it - if only the link to Alex! Was he nice to you????

I'm just hurt that my N. IL buddy didn't remember who I was! LOL

Karyn
Gotta go chill some wine!

We've got four people signed up so far (besides me) in the Yahoo! Group. I think there's some potential here.

Christmas2004 - I signed up, but I don't understand why we need another group! Could you explain?

Karyn

Christmas2004 - I agree with Karyn. Don't see the need for a separate group when we have the DIS. I used to belong to two Yahoo groups and gave them both up when I found the DIS. Don't like the pop up ads that come every 2-3 messages. We've got a great discussion rolling here and I would hate to see it divided up between two places.

Just my 2 cents.

Welcome to the new members of the group. Take a day off and this is what you get, an hour of catching up. Poor Garry will have a days worth of reading when he gets home. Garry and our son Gregg are enjoying the sunny Florida weather (it rained today), they spent the day at Epcot (my favorite). I had to stay home to work.

Garry will update and resend the list when he returns.

Hope you got the info I sent to you Mary. Garry is usually the one that is on line, doing all of that but I had to since he is visiting Mickey.

I know last time we made palo resi for a group they needed the name and cabin number for the guests in the party. Not sure if they will need that again but just thought i would pass the info along.

Take care

Vicki

Vicki - got the info. Hope Garry and Gregg are having a good time.

If you want to be included in the Palo brunch that info goes to Gail1771. Yes she is requested you give full names and room numbers.

Thanks to all who have sent info so far. Anyone else interested in getting the newsletter and contributing some info on yourself please drop me an e-mail at marygums@covad.net.

Also check out the very beginning of a web page for us below.
More to come as I get the hang of it :)

Of course I was nice...I like to think that I'm a nice guy!

Never fear, Alex was great. If you see I borrowed a few of his ideas for our web page. Now if I can only find out how to do password protection on a sub folder I can upload the newsletters there for everyone to see.

I think Alex did a great job on his page and hope I do half as well.

Thanks for your help Alex.

It's not too late to sign up for this cruise as well! :)

WDWLVR, I've got pop-up blocking software on my PC so I forget that some sites are lousy with that.

Karyn, I've used eGroups with other groups with a common interest and it's worked well. eGroups was apparently purchased by Yahoo! Groups. Anyway, my thought was that anyone can contribute various links and share such things as reservations lists. Plus, the various members can share as much or as little as they want to about their profiles. You don't need to rely on a single person to update a web page that way. And it's reasonably secure since only members can view the content.

But... I set the group up when there was some talk about needing a web page or something... but fortunately, others have already taken the initiative.

Alex!!! I am soooo sorry I don't get to meet you and I think you're the best! I really really think you could celebrate your anniversary in December in 2004! It will be your 2nd right? Anyway - that's as good a reason as any to join us on the Christmas cruise! Look me up next time you're in Chicago.

Christmas 2004 - thanks for the explanation. I wasn't trying to diminish what you were doing, just trying to unerstand. I guess I was thinking along the lines as Mary that people have a hard enough time trying to find us here. There are still people chatting on the info note at the top of the forum instead of on this thread. It may be though, that through the Yahoo group we might pick up more fellow travelors who haven't found the DIS boards yet.

Mary - your picture is too small - I can't see what you look like! And I'm seeing the lettering in Arial - nothing fancy. Where can I download the Disney fonts?

Have a great Sunday folks!

Karyn

Karyn,

Good morning! The picture is small because I don't want to scare people away. Ha Ha Ha Actually I used it because it was one we did for a Christmas Card and I wanted to get that holiday feel. If you want to see some other pictures of us click on the other link to the DVC Member Cruise. Dh did those pages and you can click on the photos and make them bigger.

As for the fonts I used Walt Disney Script and Mickey Ears. I think you can get them here. http://www.disneykingdom.com/fonts.html
I've had them for a while but I think that's where we got them.

I've been trying to gather up some info for the newsletter and have been using gaRry's list (thank you to Karyn for forwarding me a copy), the info sent in e-mail to me, and info from earlier posts. Thought you'd love to see some of the early numbers:

# of DIS'ers - 32 (this is counting one per family)

Total # sailing from the DIS - 97

Avg. age of DIS'ers from those who responded - 41

Families with early seating - 6

Families with late seating - 7

As I said these are very rough numbers as I've only heard from maybe 10 DIS'ers with full information. If you haven't sent in your info yet please do so.

Don't be afraid to get involved and meet other DIS'ers. I can tell you from past experience that it only makes the cruise better!

Anyway hope you all enjoy this early data.

Minor additon made to web page - if you want to sign up for the DIS Palo's bruch Gail is organizing her e-mail is now on the page.

Giving a little

as we went to page 2.

Thanks Paul - got it!

I've started work on the September Issue (aka Issue #1) of the DIS Christmas Cruisers newsletter. Looking especially for any celebrations happening in September. Got a few birthdays already - anyone else celebrating in September. How about Anniversaries? Were you married in September? I'd love to celebrate it in the newsletter.

My goal is to have it done by the 1st of September so get the info to me soon please!

Hi all!!

Garry sends his greetings from WDW. He went to watch the Wonder sail today. While he was there he made our ressie at the Radisson, in the king jacuzzi suite. If we can get four more families to book they will give us a group discount. We did the parking package, for just $10.00 more that the room alone.
We stayed here last time before the cruise and had a DIS meet at the pool the evening before we sailed. Any one interested in the Radisson??

Back to work tomorrow.... Oh well, every day of work is one day closer to our Christmas Cruise!!

Vicki  :sunny: :sunny:
