I bought the Cooking with Mickey and the Disney Chefs cookbook at WDW this trip. The last recipe in it is the Chocolate Souffle from Palo's. We had that for dinner tonight....yes just souffle for dinner. It was VERY close to the real thing and brought back wonderful memories. Think I need to try the Herb Crusted Sea Bass next. Now if I could just get someone to deliver a Mickey Bar :mickeybar

Good evening everyone!:wizard:
UGH.. I am finally done unpacking.... put that off until just today...LOL Now I have a MOUNTAIN of laundry to do. Decided to send Joe back to S. Fla to work and I'm staying here at the MouseHouse until the marathon next weekend.... THAT should be an adventure, considering the shape we're in...
Mary...GREAT trip report.
Diana & Kevin GREAT pictures!!! Almost makes me want to try scuba... NOT!

I would love to get in on the picture sharing... but who knows when I will get around to getting them out of my camera/card and sorted for a CD!!! Is it easier to upload them to a website and everyone can pick and choose which ones they want??
How much ransom am I going to have to pay out for the Match Your Mate and 70's Night photos??
Another person pin trading at Downtown Disney today recognized me from the cruise... this is getting scary!!!!!
Anyone still here at WDW???

I can't believe that your tablemates missed the Match Your Mate experience.... It's a good thing that we have plenty of stories.... Still hoping for the video!

I'm hoping somebody will step forward with a video - I mean - somebody had to video it!

Hmmm cufflinks.... good reason to visit..... At least I'll get to wear my red mickey vest in 2006.... if I remember to pack it then...

I will probably just throw mine up on Shutterfly once I get the editing done. To many underwater pictures to just put them all up, but I am sure everyone will want to see my picture of a juvenile Yellowtail Damselfish.

:flower1: Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that the photo gallery and newsletters will be coming down off the web site in the next week or so. The main page and the trip reports will be left up but we need to make space for other things like our Member Cruise page.

I really enjoyed doing the newsletters and hope that they were helpful to everyone in planning our cruise.

Sad day. This is just another reminder that our cruise is only a memory!

Thanks Mary, it was all very helpful! Now we can look forward to the next set. :Pinkbounc

Well sad to say there won't be another set of newsletters. They were fun but they did take up some time. I need to get back to scrapbooking and other things. Plus I don't want to step on any toes and Amanda has already started up her list.

Mark and I will still be doing the buttons and I'll do a mini-navigator again if people want. I'm also more than willing to do another photo gallery (started one up for the Member Cruise already). Just can't commit to doing a monthly newsletter again.

Hope everyone understands.

Hello Everyone!

Finally getting a chance to check in.
We went to WDW for 3 nights after the cruise. Huge Mistake. I really wish we had just come home. We were exhausted and the crowds were unreal. I have never seen the parks more crowded and we were there over Christmas and New Years 1999/2000. We would have been better off coming home and having a few more days to relax.
We spent the weekend trying to unpack and unwind. Sorry Michigan fans, but GO LONGHORNS!!!

I would like to say how much I enjoyed meeting all of you that I did. I feel I missed meeting quite a few. This cruise was definately a wonderful experience. I am sad to say that I think we are the only ones who did not re-book a cruise onboard.
My son is very shy and just did not get to know anyone, basically because he didn't try. He wouldn't even try the lab at all. So we spent a lot of time with him, especially after dinner so we didn't get to participate in any of the fun adult stuff. He does not want to cruise again until he is a teen.
We will keep the May 2006 cruise in mind as he will be very close to 13 then. It is just not a great time for us because the kids are not out of school until mid June. But since there is a holiday, it might be possible.
Kristen has a fantastic time and really wants to go again.

I hope those of you that got sick are feeling better.
Virgil- sorry to hear about Frances cat. I have 18 yr old cat and I worry about him when we leave for so long. He has been practically on top of me since we have gotten home.

Mary & Mark, Stacey, Vicki & Gary- Thank you for all the hard work you put into making this trip so special for everyone. All those extras made such a difference. Kristen wore her t-shirt to school today.

Kevin- great pictures. I wish I had taken photo lessons from you.

I am working on my pictures. Didn't take nearly as many as I should have.
I do have a few good ones though. I am uploading mine to Ofoto. Will let you know when they are finished.

I hope everyone has a great week as normal life resumes.

Good Morning! Hi Tina!

Yes, "normal" life must resume....darn it. Jordan has a rehearsal at 9:00 and I'm going in to the office to close out 2004.
I don't seem to function well without a Navigator.

Still haven't edited my photos yet. Depending on how long it takes to get caught up at work, it coul be a while.

Leslie.....no video here, just pictures......nothing that I can use to blackmail you with! (Like I would) I'm not surprised people recognized you...you're more famous than Christy Carlson Romano!! (And easier to spot in a crowd;) ) You and Joe gave us some of the best entertainment we could have had on the ship. Thank you!!

Better get moving..TTYL
Have a good day everyone.
Stacey

I'm back too. Tina, we also didn't rebook. For us, it was DD. DS had a great time, and DD had fun too, but just didn't do the kids things much. I wasn't happy with how much time she spent vegging out, so I think it will be late teens for her before we do a Disney cruise again.

It was a great vacation though, and a Christmas I'll never forget!!

So I just have to ask - how did tag go?

We got tagged on the 2nd or 3rd day. I was so excited I went and tagged the next person (Linda - seaulater) and never even took a picture of our door with the tag.

So how did it go the rest of the week? Did everyone who signed up for tag end up getting tagged?

Wow Lisa I never would have guessed that you DD didn't participate. When we were waiting for the snorkeling excursion in St. Maarten she seemed to know all the cruise staff already so I thought she had been very active. She gave us all a good laugh about the "Magic Butt".

I'm really sorry we didn't get to interact with you much - except for the few times on deck and that one excursion we didn't see much of you.

Update on the beast:

went to pick up maggie at the kennel. she was happy to see us (she had been there one day shy of three weeks). took her to petsmart for her free bath/groom/nail trim--to get rid of the kennel smell. well, apparently it takes THREE to THREE AND A HALF hours....so we left her there! poor thing probably is so confused. was so happy to see us and then we take her and drop her off somewhere else!! :(

i hope she was ok at the kennel. last time we picked her up all of her toys needed a bleaching or washing from being in with her and all the other dogs. this time i unpacked completely clean toys (and her name not worn off any of them this time) i don't think she got her toys :(

why am i having these guilty feelings for a dog i do not like?

Thanks Mary. She did get along well with everyone. She just didn't want to do much of anything (probably typical pre-teen behavior, just different for her). I guess I had too high of expectations, but I was getting grumpy with her wanting to watch TV in the stateroom when there were all those options! I'm going to work on a trip report, so maybe you guys can give me some insight based on it? I finished my WDW pre cruise report and it's on the WDW trip report board.

As far as tag goes, I think our tag got stolen. DS and DD went back to the room early on the first formal night, and they said the tag was on there then (about 9:45). DD said she wrote tkd lisa on it, and stuck it back on the door. By the time we made it back to the room shortly after 10, it was gone. I kept meaning to tell LeiLani and see if she had a spare, but I never ran into her after that. So anyone else on our tag chain probably never got tagged.

Off to a meeting. TTYL. Lisa

I shared this with Gail, and I think it made her feel better about not going. Her daughter Emily is a calm, quiet kid. She makes friends, but not immediately, and our daughter is usually like that too. I told her I knew of kids (Charlotte's) that just didn't click with the clubs this time, mainly because there were SO MANY KIDS! They hit their limits for kids, and were only booking adult cabins at the end, did you all know that? Kids that already knew someone, or who are able to barrel in and get attention, did OK. Many others did not. So I think another cruise at a different time of year would be very different for some of your kids. Our daughter seemed to decide that she would be the "life of the party" from the get-go this time, and she made friends quickly. She told me that she was sitting in the Stack the first night, calling over kids that didn't seem to know anyone, asking their names etc, including them in the group. Amazing, not the same kid we cruised with last year AT ALL. And she had a really good time, a little up and down. She's a teen, after all.

Tina, Alicia said your son kind of stuck with the teen group, when they would let him. Too bad he didn't get acquainted with Jared, who was doing the same thing!

Virgil, hope you looked at our pics. There's a really good one of your beautiful family in funny hats. Use the scroll on the left side of the page to look through the snapshots. There are lots of fish pics on ours, too.

We got tagged, once. Don't remember who we passed it along to.

We did get tagged, but not with the one we were supposed to get. I too heard that one of the Mickey's may have been "lost." We got tagged very late in the cruise, maybe Christmas eve or so? Everyone that was listed on the back had been tagged already, so I added our stateroom, signed the front, then looked at my Navigator for others that would have been on the other Mickey. I ended up passing it onto Paul.

Mary, good point, I didn't even think to take a picture of the Mickey Tag either! Oh well, I guess we'll just have to play again!

That's the cookbook Jim wants so bad. I looked on the ship and didn't see it. So I guess a trip to WDW is in our future. Where exactly did you find the cookbook? Thanks for your help.
