Good morning...:wizard:

Okay... the toiletry bag is packed... well, sort of anyway. Now I have to spend the rest of the day with laundry, and PACKING. At least I have convinced DH that I NEEEEEEED to take the whole suitcase full of pins...LOL since I can't decide what to take. :sad2:
Okay OFF TO PACKING... I'll check back later to get updates.

Just so you know ... it's beautiful and sunny here in So Florida... But only 44 degrees!

Arrrgh...I predict I will need another bag to pack the layers... :flower:

Called the credit card company and told them to put a note on our file that we would be out of the country and might have more transactions than normal. Saves hassles in the ports.

See, Mary, you did it again. I need to do that too. Thanks!

I had another thought last night. We will be taking some cash to the wine party for the CMs in there. I'm sure they will be doing cleanup, rinsing glasses etc., so it would be nice to give them a little something.

Hi Everyone!

Just came by to say hi! I'm still doing laundry and packing as we leave on Friday! I have a dilemma that I wonder any one can help me with - I have 2 dresses for my vow renewal which will be on the formal night (December 26th - @ 5:15pm) the Captain's gala according to Debbie from Disney Cruise lines. Both are long gowns - Question: Should I wear the younger looking one albeit more princess like - I even thought of wearing a little tiara - but it might be too much! (according to the person that shortened this J. McClintock dress) or the more conservative elegant dress from Vera Wang. Dh and DS are wearing tuxes for the event and DD is wearing a long black and white dress Both are strapless, however, there may be more room in the Wang dress after a week of cruising! My mom says take both - but it's a lot of "dress" bulk to pack!

Help!!!!

Melissa
:wizard:

My vote, take both!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, PINS! I've got to get pins ready...

So what am I doing here? Actually, we have to go to a meeting at school. They're going to tell us what they're going to do to our daughter next year in high school.

Hi Again!

Ok - Thanks for everyone's imput - off the subject of dresses!

Onto the topic of ipods - just tried to get one for the last night of Hanukkah for our DS at best buy - last minute I know - wasn't available! (We like there warranty the best) CompUSA had the 20G but not sure of their warranties - any one have any experience with them? DS has the 1st edition ipod with 5G from 2002 - but of course right before we go and the holiday ends he mentions that he would like one! Aaaagh!!!

Just hoping the seas become more calm for our trip!! :boat:

Good luck and Bon Voyage to anyone leaving today!

Melissa princess:

Either the Apple iPod or the HP iPod (made by Apple) have a 1 year warranty. You can extend this for about $50 by buying an extended warranty. I've bought things at CompUSA before and never had a problem....

Thanks for that info. BTW, what's the difference between Apple ipod or HP iPod?

(p.s. I can spell their - I had a typo before - sorry! - I still can't get how you copy someone's message for a response :earboy2: )

Well.. it's up to a balmy 53 degrees now, but very breezy so we have a "wind chill" still in the upper 40's. Brrrrrr.

Packing is not going well...... Do you think 4 bathing suits is too many?? I probably have enough clothes laid out for 3 weeks....... gotta cut back ......... this is going to get ugly. :scared:

I love the water and am taking 3 suits, 2 quick dry and one that takes forever. I hope to get in the pool every day. Not when it is 53!!!!!!!!!!

Really nothing is different except it has HP on the back. HP signed a deal to distribute iPods..... HP iPods only come with software for PCs while Apple iPods come with both Mac and PC software. You can get the HP iPods a little bit cheaper sometimes - as HP allows discounting....

ps - hit quote in the bottom right of the post you want to quote. Just don't edit any of the [ ]....

OK - Something for us to remember.... (my apologies to RickW who I borrowed the quote from)

DCL tells you over & over:
"Don't worry, you'll never see these people again."
But that doesn't mean that you won't be made fun of on the DIS.

I see your 53-degrees and lower you to 31-degrees. I am so ready for warm weather!!! And for the amount of clothes you have, I guess I will be seeing you on the ship for panama :D

Just received my MouseSavers Newsletter - Looks like FUN!!! pirate:

pirate: Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho A Pirates Life…Aboard Disney Cruise Line pirate:

A new Pirates in the Caribbean party is taking over the Disney Magic cruise ship, transforming guests aboard into pirates for the evening and treating them to a scrumptious dinner feast and adventurously themed deck party that would make Captain Jack Sparrow proud.

This newly themed evening aboard Disney's seven-night cruise vacations to the eastern and western Caribbean brings together the traditional cruise dinner and deck party with a rowdy buccaneer bash combining invigorating entertainment, themed dining experiences and brand new special effects for an evening that's perfect for every member of the family.

Starting in the dining room, servers dressed as pirates play the part by welcoming guests with customary greetings of ‘ahoy matey’ and ‘argh’ while serving ‘grog’ rather than drinks. Guests delight in learning the pirate lifestyle by donning specially made pirate bandanas and choosing pirate themed dinner selections from a parchment rolled menu.

As the evening transitions from the dining room to high atop decks 9 and 10, a treasure trove of entertainment opens with classic Disney characters dressed in pirate garb, high-energy special effects and interactive audience participation set to music favorites for a new kind of celebration.

The party gets underway with a pirate-style line dance as guests join cruise staff, Goofy and his seafaring friends in learning special dance steps set to a wacky chorus of “Yo, Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate’s Life for Me.”

Impetuously the mood of the party changes as Captain Hook, Mr. Smee and their gang of ‘bad’ pirates take over the party with special effects including black lighting and skull and cross bone projections.

Just in time, and before Captain Hook’s able to enlist audience Dads to join his gang of pirates, Captain Mickey appears and saves the day, ridding the ship of the evil buccaneers for a swash-buckling finish.

Currently only aboard the Disney Magic seven-night itineraries, the experience is scheduled to board sister ship Disney Wonder and three- and four-night itineraries in early 2005.

Hi Jay! (sorry for the delayed response...so many chores so little time). Did I read that you made a wine rack? My DH makes lots of furniture etc as well. Mostly he works with wood but he also has some "ecletic" stuff. He is finishing off a project for a Lawyer today where he made "wall art" out of smash Ford fendors and tires. It sounds strange but the Lawyer I guess made a lot of money on Ford lawsuits :D
Jay's a blacksmith, and does ornamental iron. Many wine racks. I've seen some art work made from car parts. We had a guy bring us the door to an old Ford truck, he was using the window (missing) as a frame for a painting, and we had to make some tabs to hold the picture in place. Later we went to the gallery to see his work. It came out pretty cool....but definitely abstract!

Just finsished my morning read of the west coasters and now it is time to head off to work.

Everyone have a good morning and keep remembering that in a few days someone will be bring you coffee in bed as you lay there thinking about what swimsuit you are going to wear for the day.
At first I laughed at this....then I started to think....you don't know how hard a choice that is!! "Let's see....which one hides the most fat??" LOL
