4:30 is a good time to pack, right?

And with that TOP, I am off for a bit. Back later pirate: (I guess it is not a pirate when you are competing with yourself for a TOP...in less your name is Lisa).

Happy Wednesday! Only 2 more days of work for me. Yeah!

Got a few more things checked off my list yesterday. Called the credit card company and told them to put a note on our file that we would be out of the country and might have more transactions than normal. Saves hassles in the ports.

Paid off the bills we had here and got them in the mail.

Went to the bank and got a wad of singles, fives and tens to be used as tips.

Diana/Stacey - thanks for the info on the contact sheet. I felt like we were missing something but couldn't put my finger on it. I'll be ready at the port with the info.

Well off to read the boards and then off to work!

Have a great day everyone!

]I posted this a while back, but of course, no one ever listens to me. I'm going to get a complex one of these days.

Ya know, now that you say that, it seems vaguely familiar. I need more sleep. No way I'll be able to drive tomorrow with all this staying up till 1:00 garbage. :(

Thanks for checking that. :)

Not in the U.S. it's not. I'm not getting into the debate about downloading music, I'm just clarifying the legality of the site (having checked with my resident nerd who works for the Evil Empire, Microsoft).

AllofMP3.com actually warns you in their "Legal Info" area:
"MediaServices pays license fees for all the materials subject to the Law of the Russian Federation "On Copyright and Related Rights"...Administration does not keep up with the laws of different countries and is not responsible the actions of non-Russian users."

In the U.S., if they catch you, you're still s****ed.

Thanks, Dee, I'm passing that on!!

I heard the Elmer Fudd version of "Bbbbbbluueee Cccchrrisstmmass" the other day and was laughing pretty good!
XM Satellite Radio has a channel called 'Special Xmas' that is nothing but those kind of tunes and much worse. Have been listening to it in the car and at home a lot. :)

I am also interested in the PDA discussion. It seems the pda and cell phone's are getting so close and it would be nice to have just one device to schlep.
There ARE a few combo models already. It's what I am kind of waiting for to get a bit more integrated before getting another one.

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone!!

Today is going to be a busy day for me. Trying to get all the last minute stuff done so I can relax tomorrow, get my nails done, and try to figure out if I have forgotten anything. We leave at 3:00pm tomorrow afternoon to drive to the airport for our 5:30pm flight. DH still hasn't packed. He said he should be home by 10:30pm tonight so we can pack then. Oh Joy!!!

We will have our ipods also. Rich and I share one and both the girls have one. We love ours. I loaded all my favorite Christmas music on mine and we listen to it in the car.

Everyone have a great day and I will try to check in again later.

Boy, I've known about iPods for a couple of years now - but never realize how popular they are! I may have to get one!

Therese - you should get one, they are great. DH and I bought one over a year ago, and then we bought one for oldest DD for her birthday this summer. And after that I had to buy one for the youngest DD. She got hers as an early Christmas gift in November. We also have itunes and it is so easy to load music from CD's or buy new music and then we plug in the ipod and it automatically downloads the music.

Virgil came for a DIS meet in (I believe) June and showed his to my dh. VERY VERY soon after that, Dh had an iPod. KT loved it, so she got hers last week for an early Christmas present.

Besides the music, they both listen to audiobooks. Mike has a subscription, and KT got a gift subscription, to www.audible.com

Hi Everyone!

Just came by to say hi! I'm still doing laundry and packing as we leave on Friday! I have a dilemma that I wonder any one can help me with - I have 2 dresses for my vow renewal which will be on the formal night (December 26th - @ 5:15pm) the Captain's gala according to Debbie from Disney Cruise lines. Both are long gowns - Question: Should I wear the younger looking one albeit more princess like - I even thought of wearing a little tiara - but it might be too much! (according to the person that shortened this J. McClintock dress) or the more conservative elegant dress from Vera Wang. Dh and DS are wearing tuxes for the event and DD is wearing a long black and white dress Both are strapless, however, there may be more room in the Wang dress after a week of cruising! My mom says take both - but it's a lot of "dress" bulk to pack!

Help!!!!

There you techhies go, losing me again!

Please feel sorry for the old woman with the pea brain!
Believe it or not, I just got Jay to get rid of his reel-to-reel a few years ago!

Wait till I tell him he just had his first Shared T.O.P.!!
On second thought....I better not. I think I know what he'll say. Sometimes he and "Lisa" have a lot in common.
Don't feel bad Stacey... I am the same way... all the computer, ipod, palm etc jargon is lost on me. I think I know what an ipod is but since I don't have any kids under adult age.... I'm lost in the world of video games, music etc. That's why I had to ask what the heck Switchfoot was... I thought it might be some kind of folk dancing!!!!!

How about iPAQ h6315 Pocket PC? I have been looking at the combo units and some are looking pretty good.

This is what my question for you will be on the cruise.

Good morning...:wizard:

Okay... the toiletry bag is packed... well, sort of anyway. Now I have to spend the rest of the day with laundry, and PACKING. At least I have convinced DH that I NEEEEEEED to take the whole suitcase full of pins...LOL since I can't decide what to take. :sad2:
Okay OFF TO PACKING... I'll check back later to get updates.

Just so you know ... it's beautiful and sunny here in So Florida... But only 44 degrees!

That is exactly what I'm talking about. They are finally getting to the stage of being PDA and phone together. The limitation on a lot of the current ones is this: 'Resolution(WxH) 240x320 pixels' That is one of the keys, you need twice that to make it effective as a true internet ready device, or useful for other data uses. I currently have a Handheld pc, Mary has a HP Pocket pc. Handheld pc's have a resolution of 640x200, while a little short, the width is effective enough for me to browse all the websites I normally visit. And open documents in Word or Excel. Hers is not. Can it be done with it? Certainly, but it is very clumsy to do all the scrolling necessary to read anything.

Hi Again!

Ok - Thanks for everyone's imput - off the subject of dresses!

Onto the topic of ipods - just tried to get one for the last night of Hanukkah for our DS at best buy - last minute I know - wasn't available! (We like there warranty the best) CompUSA had the 20G but not sure of their warranties - any one have any experience with them? DS has the 1st edition ipod with 5G from 2002 - but of course right before we go and the holiday ends he mentions that he would like one! Aaaagh!!!

Just hoping the seas become more calm for our trip!! :boat:

Good luck and Bon Voyage to anyone leaving today!

Melissa princess:
