Well...I have a little more sewing to finish up. I picked up the important stuff (shortening a couple of dresses) from my seamstress today...these things that I'm doing didn't require any talent...thank goodness.
I want to try to convince the "boss" to let me stay home tomorrow, to pack his things and Jared's. Need to wrap my ornament for the exchange, and a couple other small things.....then I will be all done, and ready to PARTY!
I want to be all done. Jordan has her chorus concert tomorrow night, the kids school dance is Friday, Jared's last soccer game & party Saturday, and we are going to an annual candle-making party Sunday...that one is really really fun!!
Anyway, I want to be done, so that next week I can just stay caught up at work, go get my hair and nails done....and rest up for 10 nights of fun!! ANd yes, Mary, we need at least twice that to do all the things we want to do!!

Good Evening! Jared and I got home at about 6:45, but I have been sewing. Dusted off the machine, and have been buzzing away.
I made a scrapbook of Megan's wedding cruise. My one and only scrapbook. Most pics are on disc. We have at least 40 albumsof printed photos. So grateful for digital!
I used to embroider, no time any more. Seems kids and DIS get in the way. I'm just not a very "crafty" person.
VICKI!!! Are you trying to kill yourself??? I know, us Moms don't have a choice. After I had my first lumpectomy, I woke up to get a pain killer, and heard Jordan, from the top bunk in her bed...being quite ill...all the way down the side of the bed to the floor. I hate when they are too sick to run to the bathroom.
So of course, I had to clean that all up. I don't think there has ever been a time that I've had surgery or been sick, that I didn't have at least one kid (or hubby) home sick also. I never get to wallow in my misery and milk it! Do any of us?

I know I don't usually have time to recover fully before jumping in with both feet. A few years ago I had major surgery the night after I got home from hospital DH was working and the basement flooded (sump pump float got stuck) so I was down there trying to clean what I could salvage. After surgery last year DH had to go with DS out of town (Dr. wouldn't let me) so I had horse duty, Couldn't drive so my mom took me but she wasn't much help with the feeding (she's quite timid around the horses) I promised I was going to behaive this time but once again I have not really rested since about the second day - once I start feeling better I hate sitting around.

Yep...I'm tired too...finishing the sewing and going to bed. See, that race for 21,000 really wiped us out. How are we going to keep pace on the ship??

Guess I'll have to work on my #4000 "Profound" (No, Lisa...I already told you...NOT profane) Post. Off till tomorrow.

GOOD THURSDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE EAST COAST CRUISERS. AND THE MIDS, WESTS, ACROSS THE OCEAN AND CANADIAN CRUISERS, TOO!!

Good night!
Stacey

testing my list theory...

OH, DUH, I see....the first box you get after list is supposed to be where you decide WHAT list to have (numbered, bulleted, etc) I always put my first list item in there.

  1. one
  2. two
  3. three

ALTHOUGH...I just had typed that out, then did the list, and the typed out part disappeared (the part starting with OH, DUH) and I had to retype that. Hmmm...maybe before I do a list I should copy everything I already have.

Yeah, Like I'll remember that!

  • one
  • two
  • three
  • four

Ok, something is screwy. I just did my second list and the paragraph starting with ALTHOUGH disappeared. I think this is some sort of DIS board conspiracy!!

Hello Disney Christmas Cruisers.
I was on board when this thread started and tried keeping up for a while but between moving last year and spending the summer away it has been difficult.

My name is Doug and my DW is Amy. We will be in 5522 and are looking forward to meeting everyone. I think there was someone on here who will be our porthole neighbors...5520 perhaps.

We have taken the magic twice before one to the East and one to the West. The last time was March 2003 with my mother. We have no children and have been married for 5 years. We have early dinner seating since we are just used to eating early. Trouble is the lunch buffet can be so satisfying and I am not all that hungry. Some people knock the foor on board but I can't imagine. It is so tasteful. The variety is awesome.

We got our documents on Friday from our TA and have been looking thrugh the m,aterial. Is anybody getting the tux? I haven't before on Disney but given the holiday I wanted to fit in if men were wearing tuxs.

We look forward to meeting up with evberyone at the deck party at 3pm. We will be staying Friday night at the Radisson Hotel after working that day. We live in Sarasota so will drive over then. It'll be nice not worrying about a plane to catch.

I will try keeping up wih the boards till our departure.

Doug and Amy

Welcome Doug and Amy........looking forward to meeting you at the sailaway party.

Gus

So I talked to DCL President today on email. He actually has on the disney wonder for business. Rough business trip.

Anyways he said 2 formal nights, and possibily 1 semi formail. He was not 100%. Plenty of suprises he claims he cant even tell me. LOL But he said he and his family are for sure coming. So excited, I cant wait to meet him in person and have dinner with them one night. He says he cant wait until the cruise. Also he says we will all enjoy it.

Night,
Matt

September 2003: We had just returned from our second cruise on the Wonder, and I was reading the boards and saw a post titled "DCL's First Ever 10 Night Christmas Cruise", started by someone named Ohiominnie.
At the time, I felt grateful to have been on the two Disney cruises that we did go on, and I didn't even DARE dream of 10 whole nights on the Magic. But those words written by Ohiominnie would not quit playing through my head.

I booked the cruise and started reading the thread. All of these people that I was reading about already seemed to know eachother so well that I didn't think a "Newbie" like me would ever fit in.
There was some guy named Goose, who couldn't type and talked about screw-top wine, yet his job was to save other people's lives. There was a serious-sounding M.D. from W.V., there was a nice lady who I learned loved dancing and corked wine. There was someone called jilljill, whose real name was neither Jill, nor Jill. And, there was a lady who appeared to love Walt Disney World, and seemed to be the glue that held it all together, the voice of sanity in a totally crazy group.

A group who welcomed me with open arms.

A group who now, over a year later, has laughed together, cried together, prayed for eachother, yelled at eachother, shared secrets, shared good times and bad, and yet have remained together and welcomed many, many more "Newbies" with open arms.

I consider our group to be some of the closest friends that I will ever have. Anything that happens in my life, my first thought is "I can't wait to tell the group".

I believe that we have already "embarked" on our journey. We did that over a year ago.
Next week we will reach our destination. A trip that I know I will never forget.
And I owe it all to those open arms.
Thank you all, so very much.

I know my "mates" in the nursing home will someday thank you, too, when I say "Did I ever tell you about going on DCL's First Ever 10 Night Christmas Cruise?"

FOR THE FOUR THOUSANDTH TIME!!!!

Stacey:flower1:

Very nice post Stacey.

I just arrived in St Johns, Newfoundland(if you know where that is) so it is currently 3:30am. The weather here is horrible, snow then freezing rain and now rain, I am not sure what was worse my landing in this weather or the cab ride to the hotel. I had to do a quick email home and thought I would check in on what has been going on today.

I can not believe that you are still online Stacey, do you ever sleep?

have a great rest and thanks for all of the smiles tonight.

Phil :D :D

So I couldn't sleep and I come on line - now I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. That is really sweet Stacey. Know that you have had a big impact on this group. We wouldn't be the same without you and that is meant in the most wonderful way!

Do you take underwater pics? We are bringing a few underwater disposable cameras for the kids. I have no idea how they will turn out!

Yes, I do take underwater pictures. I have a housing and light for my digital.

Stacey, excellant post. All of us agree with.

Mary, sorry I missed you. It would have been nice to have someone on with me.

Today I actually slept in to 4:30 am. The sad part is that our alarm is set for 5:30 am. For the past two weeks I have been up anywhere from 3 to 4:30 am - when I don't need to be.

Do you think it just might be cruise excitement?

It was a quiet night last night on DIS so I'll just get ready and go to work early.

I can get a lot of work done before the morning rush of phone calls and emails.

We will have to remember to keep the dog inside today so Brown can show up with a box. I don't want Molly responsible for 100 angry people not getting their buttons.

Very nice and profound post Stacey!!

I couldn't sleep either. I bet it keeps getting worse until we leave!

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Thursday!

Counting today I only have 6 more days of work! :Pinkbounc

Yes the buttons are in Florida as we speak and should be delivered to the Scuba's today. So if God forbid a major snowstorm hits us and we miss the ship - you'll all have a button to remember us by :D Just kidding - we've been checking the forcast and it looks clears for travel.

It was a really quiet day/night on the thread yesterday. I guess getting to 21000 wore everyone out.

Well I'm off to read the rest of the boards and then off to work. Have a great day everyone!
