WOW!!! This board is "on fire" with activity. Between work, kids and their activities and attempting to get ready for SAIL DAY, ot to mention Holiday activities I barely have even a spare moment. I can't even remember who sent me the password for the newsletter but THANKS A BUNCH. As i scrolled down the # of posts listed by person I was sure I was going to be last on the list...no biggie..Congrads to Juletime for being a nebie and reaching her 100th post....take care for now..

Regards,
Lee

Last night ScubaMatt was trying to figure out his strategy for eating at both sittings (He is my son).

Does he try a small amount of everything at first and than eat only the best at second OR does he eat a full amount of half at first and than eat the other half at second?

If only he would spend this much energy and thought on his Spanish homework!
Door number 1 is my choice. Except for dessert. Got to eat all the dessert. It's against the law to leave a bite of cheesecake!

Quick question for you Matt - Where do you go to school?

Ken
I think it's in Alabama near the panhandle of Florida? But you probably wanted the actual school, didn't you.

Oh well, just boosting us up towards the next milestone!

I tried to smoke when I was about eleven. My friend and I wanted to blow rings thinking it was soo cool. Her older brother caught us and told us that our folks would smell it on our breath unless we ate pine needles to get rid of the smell. Yes, dumb kids we ate the pine needles. I have never had the urge to smoke since then

Interesting approach to the kids smoking problem. I have a older half-sister that made me smoke the entire pack (one after the other).

I was green!!! Have not smoked since!!

Okay, where IS everyone????? I guess I'll have to fill the space with something.

Hmmmm..... What to say? I know! Did I tell you all about our candlelight choir practice Sunday?

And an unplanned TOP! Never did bother counting the posts!

Well, since you asked so nicely, here goes!

We had our normal Sunday evening service. Kids are in the AWANA program (sort of like church related scouts), most adults are in a casual type of Bible study. I head over to the new fellowship center to pick up DS, and while we're there, the lights in the gym go out and the emergency lights come on. I assumed that someone hit a light switch, but then we all realized that the hallway lights were off too.

We made our way through a REALLY dark night (remember, we are about 85 miles from the closest major city, so I've seen stars most of you have only seen while we're out at sea on the Magic!) back to the church. This was our last choir practice before our cantata, and trust me, we needed the practice!

There's one emergency light in the sanctuary. Good news is that it's right over the piano. Bad news is that with no power, we have no accompaniment track. The pastor finds some candles left over from a wedding, which we stick to the bottom of styrofoam cups, and a couple of people have emergency flashlights in their car, so we improvise. The emergency light died about 1/2 hour into practice, so we had the roaving music light held by whoever wasn't singing!

We start to improvise, and at least work through how we are going to be moving in and out for the various numbers. There are 2 adult choirs, a kids choir, a praise trio, and several breaks for narration, so it's pretty complicated.

We managed to get through most of the music in the hour or so we worked. We do have a final walk through on Saturday, which will probably run long since we didn't get to do as much as we wanted.

Next up. House status!

After about 2 weeks, with almost no contact on our house, within the last day I've gotten:

1) re-drawn elevation since the building code changed so our window size changed. Good news is they're bigger and we don't have to pay more since it's code compliance!

2) Cabinet and counter top quotes and drawings. Looks like cherry cabinets are within our budget :pinkbounce:

3) Estimates for all the upgrades we were asking for.

4) And yes, the call we were waiting for. We have your lot staked. Can you come out tomorrow to walk through with us? I asked if we were still at a February delivery, and she said it will probably slide to early March. I can live with that. I was afraid it was April, and our lease back has a hard ending of 28 March!

Okay anyone else here yet?

Okay. I've done my part for the post count. Got to leave to pick up the kiddies. Library, grocery store, probably dinner out, maybe a run by the lot so that DH can give me his opinion on the stakes (since he can't come tomorrow), then home to finish homework.

It's weird not having to pick DD up at school, since she's had play practice for 3 months! She said that they are doing try outs for Guys and Dolls in January, so it will be back to the evening pickups. Fine while we're in this house, but once we move, that's 8 miles down to get her, and 12 miles back to the new house. Oh well, it's worth it to not move the kids in the middle of the year!

Mary the December Newsletter is fantastic.

Thankyou again.

Just printed it......I am actually putting holes in all my papers and putting it in a binder.
Someone here does that and gave me the idea.

And YES.....you guessed it, I still do not have anything packed.

BUT......I did try on my pirate costume......I wonder how many Capt. Hooks there will be?

Would Capt. Hook be Gay if he wears an earring?

Guess I won't be the only Gay looking Pirate there........RIGHT.

Have a great day everyone.

Gus

Gonna try to get out this evening to buy bubble wrap, Bubbles ( having trouble locating it believe it or not ), eye patches, pirate hat and a big hook for my hand.

I feel like a kid again......I guess Disney does that to people.
