News Flash from my area (yes, it doesn't happen often, but apparently, we're on CNN. I haven't checked that cause I'm too busy DISSING!)

A coworker of mine is a volunteer fireman, and he spent all day yesterday fighting fires set by Eco-Terrorists in Indian Head MD (as the crow flies, that's about 40 miles NW of me, but it's about 10 miles from our first Maryland house). Apparently, a new development of upscale houses (I'm visualizing McMansions here) was put onto a former wetlands area, and a group of eco-terrorists set the whole section on fire. Apparently only one house in the development was occupied. 45 houses were damaged or destroyed. I never would have thought that we would get eco-terrorists here in sleepy Southern Maryland.

We once knew someone who was a member of EarthFirst! We didn't know she was a member until she got arrested for trying to blow up a power plant. She lived in a small little town, led a quiet little "hippie" lifestyle.
What gets me is that they don't seem to realize that while they are trying to "save the Earth", they could kill innocent humans.

Karen, that is soooooo great. But I can tell you those Navy guys don't work here with me!!!! Now some of our Marines are in that kind of shape, but I can only think of maybe 2-3 of our Navy guys that even come close!

I just KNEW there was something wrong with that picture!! Of course!

I may go get some of the alcohol pads...but I hate buying a whole box only to use a few.

I talked to Amy this a.m. also.....the late diners are all re-arranged.....she wants ONLY happy cruisers!
And it seems that everyone is where they should be!!

And yes.....we still have a seat for ScubaMatt!!!

Wow --- I'm finally caught up!!! You all are busy at night, how do you do it!! Seems like I'm busy cooking dinner (very often two or three different things), laundry and driving to be on the 'puter.

Spent last night trying to figure out how to deal with the glitter lamp that fell and broke on the carpet --- I think it was full of oil and water. Any carpet experts out there??? I've been trying to soak it up with paper towels and haven't put anything on it but water so far --- of course it doesn't help that it's not the best lit room and I only get to see it at night --- so it doesn't look too bad even with the flashlight but I can feel the oil.

Maybe if I had a few of the Marines I could get it cleaned up

No, I'd bet they really were Navy guys, but Navy SEALs. (Sea Air and Land). Those are some SERIOUS dudes! Very very competitive program to enter. My youngest BIL really wanted to do that, but couldn't pass the entrance exam. He went Marines (had to follow the rest of the family), but blew out his knee so was medically discharged.
