Congrats Gus - were you able to keep them hidden from the kids?

Stacey - are you chaning his bath water often?

Cold Water Thawing:

Place turkey in unopened wrapper, breast down and cover completely with cold tap water.
Change water every 30 minutes to keep surface of turkey cold.
Estimate minimum thawing time to be 30 minutes per pound for a whole turkey.

Well....we are doing the so-called document dance up here in Canada.
They came today.
I didn't realize the package is so big.
They look very nice and elegant.

21 more sleeps for us.

Gus

I can't imagine how you manage to keep the excitement from your kids. doc dance quietly in the bathroom maybe

Totally ok. We didn't get the package for the romance - we did it so we didn't have to do the ressie rush :D

edited to add - not having me stressing about the ressie rush does make it more romantic. :D

I'm right there with you. I totally obsess about the ressie's and make everyone in my family nervous for me. This year should be a little more relaxing in the aspect for me. However, that doesn't mean I'm not going to try to be first in line at the port. Jim threatens to post the pictures, but the last three trips we've been first in line, second in line, first on the ship. (Jim says it took a bomb threat to allow me to be the first on board this summer. My family let me board first in our family, so I could say I was the first passenger on board the ship.)

Ok I may not have my docs, but I have a top!

Ok - I'd much rather have my docs!

WELL GREAT NEWS no MARY NOT THAT.

gaRry

That's great gaRry - I'm sure Vicki and Vanessa will have a great time!

Yep...making sure I change his water, and roll him over every now and then.

The pies taste great. I mean...they look great....:guilty: Okay, I tasted. The cook has to do that, though.

Paul....I'm shocked at your DW! LOL
Since you and gaRry aren't taking books, are you going to be a part of the scientific study group onboard?
I hear it has something to do with counting the number of women in bikinis.

Gus...all right!! That's exciting, isn't it?? Sending a PM.....

Mary & Mark, thanks for all your hard work with the buttons & mini-navigators.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my DIS friends. I have to work at 5:30 in the morning so I'll check in later in the day. Hard to keep up. I need to write down what page I end on each time :p

Ok a funny women in bikini story inspired by Stacey.

On my very first cruise (back in 1977) it was my mom, her god-daughter and myself. We go to dinner the first night and we are seated with two older women from Texas and a Catholic Priest from the southside of Chicago. Of course being from Chicago we hit it off with Father Mike right away. Of course even back then he wasn't your average Catholic Priest. He's a clinical phycologist who works at the VA and I've only seen him in your classic black "priest garg". Once at a party for my Grandmother and the other at my wedding (he married Mark and I).

Anyway about halfway through the cruise my mom and I are at the pool and Fr. Mike shows up. We ask him what he's doing and he says he is there to save souls. A few minutes go by and a beautiful woman walks by in a bikini. Well his eyes followed her all the way around the pool. I shot him a look and he just smiled at me and says "just because a man is on a diet doesn't mean he can't look at the menu".

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you to the south. I have always wanted to experience the post Thanskgiving day shopping experience. One day I will have to visit the in-laws , who winter in Florida and see what it is really all about!

Have a great day and don 't eat too much!

Paul

I see I'm talking to myself. I finally got caught up with today's posts.

Congrats to everyone that got there Docs. They seem to take a little longer to make it out West.

Paul

Mark! You ruined my surprise! I was going to do that to my turkey. Really. I know how. Just because I'm a lousy cook, doesn't mean I'm not creative!

I'm still here. I was CHANGING THE WATER for the bird. (Did you hear that, Mary??)

And, making chocolate shavings for the Hershey pie, and chocolate drizzle. Next time (if there is one) I am going to buy chocolate drizzle. Better yet, I'm going to buy the PIE!
