I am having a hard time settling on my formal dress. I keep thinking, well it is Christmas time, so I should go all out. I am considering a full lenth gown. Anyone else going this formal or will you be in shorter dresses? I hate drawing distinctions between formal and semi-formal!

Thanks for you thoughts,

Tracey

P.S. Our Argos are in the Grey Cup today! Go Argos....

Tracey, I'll be in a full length formal gown. We run the gamut here (and on the ship) from full formal dresses for the women/tuxes for the men to little black dresses for women/suits for men. If you like to dress up, you probably won't find a better time/place to do it. So go for it!

Can I go barefoot in my pirate dress?? Is it not allowed on the ship, or is it just a bad idea? I don't have any shoes that go with it...and I am definitely NOT bringing a pair of shoes just for that.

Probably not. Remember the old "Shirt and shoes required". I think it's a health law. The outdoor decks are okay, but for dinner, definitely wear shoes. Flip flops would work for me.

What a disaster of a day at Easton. I had a list of about 10 things to accomplish. Got none of them done. The biggest one was find Nick navy knee socks for his play. They don't MAKE navy knee socks, I'm convinced. Found a Christmas dinner outfit for KT and a formal dress for her (she'll be overdressed at our table) but really accomplished nothing else.

Karen, not sure if anyone had suggestions, but our Wal Mart has Navy knee socks in the girls section. If you can't find them there, let me know and I'll pick up a pair.

Dee, he's looking good! Very focused! Congrats on his placement. It looked like a pretty full tournament. And I'm glad you had fun.

We are going on the Dec 18 10 day cruise and we booked it so long ago (Sept 03 through Costco) and can't believe it is actually almost around the corner!!!

We are two families in four rooms (4 adults and 6 kids ages 6-16).

I tried to catch up on the board before posting but I am afraid it will take me 25 days!!

One question: does anyone know what movies are going to be playing? We are trying to restrict our kids from seeing a movie they can see on the cruise...

Thanks!!

Sarah

Welcome Sarah, we're glad you're joining us. Not sure if anyone's posted movies yet, but I'm assuming the following WILL be on the cruise:

1) The Incredibles
2) National Treasure

My kids are hoping that A series of Unfortunate Events will be playing. Anyone have any guesses on that? I don't think it's Disney, but DD SWEARS it's by the makers of National Treasure.

Of course I was at the fancy malls and couldn't find them. If I go 5 minutes away to my local wal*mart and find them I'll have to bang my head against a wall!!!!! I think I'll call them and find out. I have to go there tonight anyway to pick up a few things.

I ordered more sedation for Maggie. Should have told them it was really working, that I was in such a fog I didn't know she was running around like crazy!! Ha! Her belly is looking ever so slightly better but it must keep improving so she is COMPLETELY healed before we take her to the pet resort!

Plumber showed up at my door this morning, unexpected. I was actually leaving a message for him on his voicemail when he knocked (to tell him our lives are crazy and we'll reconnect whenever we get around to it!)

Today he used some sort of silicone sealer. Said if that doesn't work then it's time to cut a hole in the drywall. :( Said he wouldn't redrywall, he'd put in an access grate (it'd look like a heating duct) That sounds ok with me---seeing as we always have water problems, might as well make it easy to get to!

Off and running. Must gather sticks from the yard to take to the play and then off to rehearsals!

Btw, WELCOME, SARAH!!!

Linda - I love your door signs. Especially the naughty and nice. Our family might not have as much Christmas cheer. We've told the boys that their Chrismas present is the cruise. They are almost 14. Is everyone packing a gift or two for their older children? I probably will tuck in a new game boy game for each boy.

Happy Monday!

The cruise is our family's Christmas presents as well. I'm bringing DD (12) 2 CDs and probably a book or 2, and DS (11) 2 or 3 books, and a couple of arcade cards. We're only taking our stockings, and that's where the gifts will go. It's my understanding that Disney passes out gifts to the kids as well. I think the older kids get some sort of walkman/radio type thing.

That's all we're taking too. I cross stitched stockings for the kids and we'll take those and maybe some suction cups and put them up on the mirror. Santa will probably put a few small things in there for them, but we'll do our "family" exchange the weekend before we leave (that way KT can have her iPod for the trip down)

wow, a TOP without trying! I said I was leaving, but am on hold with Wal*mart about the socks....

.....

and YES, they HAVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why didn't I try there first????

Thanks, Lisa!!!!

Busy little fingers this weekend! I'm all caught up again. And talking to myself most of the morning! Sounds like everyone had a busy, eventful time.

DD and I went to Medieval Times on Saturday evening with a group of older Girl Scouts. It was a lot of fun. It's actually in a mall (Arundel Mills, which if I remember right is Charlotte's favorite). I actually meant to call Charlotte this weekend, and time just got away from me. I'm assuming her PC is still broken.

The show was pretty cute. DD was excited, because 1) our knight "won", and 2) she swears he was trying to throw a flower to her, but that "mean girl two rows in front of us just reached up and grabbed it" (LOL).

I sent notes in to the kids' teachers last week about the trip (reminding them of our earlier conversations). No push back from any of them, they just asked for a reminder a week before we leave, so I guess they aren't going to lock me up!

Oh, other bit of excitement this weekend. While I was talking with my mom, she said "Oh, I got those days off work." Me... "What days Mom?" "You know, the ones when I'm meeting you in WDW before your cruise". My mouth is on the floor at this time. Long story short, I reminded her that now that the in-laws aren't going, we don't have an extra bed for her (which I had told her a MONTH ago). But being the good daughter that I am, she now has a reservation at Pop Century for that timeframe. That's her Christmas present. I told her that she needs to worry about her tickets though. DH was REALLY not happy about this, but I told him to look on the bright side. Maybe the kids can spend the night with her one night, and we can have some "us" time???

Family.... Got to love them!

Karen, glad to help. I spend WAY too much time and money in Wal Mart. I knew ours had Navy, because I was looking for black to match DD's red and black plaid skirt, and the closest they had was navy.

I am taking small presents to put in a stocking for the boys for Xmas morning. They get their main present the weekend before we go when my Mum & Dad come over for our pre-Xmas lunch. It is nice for them to have something on the actual day.

Thanks everyone for all the warm welcomes! I didn't really need to work today, anyway... lol!

What's an arcade card?

I am still trying to make sense out of all of this but thanks to everyone for making it easier . This will be our third Disney cruise but we have not been in about 5 years and things have changed...
