Does Bear get involved in the towel art?

Sometimes! On the Western last year we bought him a little sombrero and it ended up on the towel monkey that night. Usually he just gets the mints. :D He also has a very important job each cruise. He gives the room steward the tip envelope!

Thanks for all the offers to help pass out the navigators! We just may take you guys up on that.

Hey Jim (scuba) - where are you in Florida again? We may just have a favor to ask of you.

LeiLani.....how come the early diners got to request their rotation?
  Remember, I'm blonde...sort of....grey is a shade of blonde, isn't it???

Hey Stacey - we get to request our rotation also, although Debbie also says it can't be guaranteed. I have just been waiting to see what the theme nights are going to be. She does not seat the dinning rotation until the week before the cruise so we have plenty of time. If things stay the way we have been hearing I will request the APL rotation, Miss Blondie. :teeth:

Hope Jim doesn't mind me answering for him. They are in the Daytona beach area. :)

Thanks Karen - that's what I thought but wanted to confirm.

Vicki & Dee - I sent you both pm's :D

GaRry, I'm pretty sure that they were going to WDW about now. I can't imagine that they aren't still going, since she didn't even check in with us until after the 60 day mark. You might ask again after the 1st of December, when I"m sure they'll be back from WDW.

Sue, on our last DCL cruise I started out great, walked a mile around Deck 4 the first day at sea. I missed the Walk-a-mile group, so did it by myself. That was the only day! But if anyone wants to meet to walk in the mornings, I'm game. DH usually hits the gym early in the day. I'd rather walk and enjoy the view.

I'd love to join a walking group. When MIL was going, I planned on doing this with her (she walks 5 miles a day at her local mall). I actually told myself that once Thanksgiving is over, I'm going to start walking in my building at lunchtime. It's 5 floors high, so if I walk up the stairs to the 5th floor, then around each floor and down one flight to the next, I figure I'll get in about a 40 minute walk, and maybe 2 1/2 miles?

I've done really well at staying on my eating plan (diet), but I quit walking about mid-July, and I haven't lost any more weight. Now I'm within 2 pounds of my goal, and my clothes fit, so I'm not sweating it, but once we're cruising, I KNOW I'll need to do something to work off all those extra calories!

Good Thursday Morning Everyone!!!!

:bday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!!! (DH of Glenelgmom) :bday:

Lisa - it looks like our walking group will be fun. I enjoy the am so much, and on Magic the view is alot different from home.

I just checked 2 back navigators and DCL doesn't have a fitness walk. I really thought they did. Guess I have my cruise lines mixed up.

Dexter, MI is nestled between Ann Arbor and Jackson. If you take I-94 West from Detroit to reach Ann Arbor, then 15 miles west, Dexter, then Chelsea, then Jackson. From Flint, you would take US 23 South to Ann Arbor then off the Dexter on I-94.

Is it coming back to you now? :)

Nope, not coming back, but that's because I didn't ever go that way. But I do know where it is now. There was always a back up where I-69 and I-94 crossed, right around Jackson.

And in our yearbook, there was a picture of the "welcome to Flint" sign that was on US 23, with the caption "Happiness is this sign in your rear view mirror". Needless to say, Flint wasn't the nicest place to go to college! At least not in the early 80s when unemployment was RAMPANT!

So do you have Coney Islands down in Dexter? Way back in the thread, I mentioned our late night trips to Coney Islands when I was in college.

Mary - that sounds like a great plan for the mini-navigators. Several of us will be up by the sofas so we will look for you guys in line.

We will be in Vegas for Thanksgiving so I will have to start my packing after we get back. I can't believe that when we get back, we will have only 18 days until we leave. :earseek:

Mary - I have to agree with you about this being a great Christmas. I think a group hug:grouphug: is called for. We should all meet in the atrium for one big hug. What do you think DCL will think of that.:p

Stacey - thanks for making the request. When I talk to Debbie after Thanksgiving I will double check the rotation.

No problem at all. Once we agree on a time (7:30) and a place. I will be happy to put it in the mini navigator.

Here's the plan for the mini-navigator. Thanks to REAS Mark and I don't have to do the Ressie shuffle. So I will have the mini navs put in envelopes that will have your DIS name and room number on it. We will do a walk of the ship and leave it on your message fish

When you get to your room check and see if it is there - don't know if we'll get them all to the rooms before you get there but we hope to have them there in the first couple of hours. That is so you will remember that the first meet is at 3pm!

Mary, you are truly the BEST! Between your willingness to coordinate, and Mark's tech skills, this is just going to come together GREAT! Thanks again for all you do!

:cake: Happy Birthday John! :cake:

and special thanks to LeiLani who always remembers the birthdays! :D

Sue - DCL used to have one each morning. Not sure why they discontinued it. Maybe too many people sleeping in :D I think the walk will be great fun! Hope you all aren't power walkers or I'll just have to wave as you lap me :D

Sue, I really do remember the fitness walk. Since I've only cruised DCL, I know they do it. Maybe it just gets announced on the loudspeaker or something.

And thanks to you and LeiLani from keeping me from talking to myself. I love my early mornings when I get to see what you all were up to last night!

Had a good girl scout meeting last night. My girls are working on a play on friendship for their performing arts badge. They wrote it themselves, and after the younger girls left, they practiced a bit. Did pretty good for a first run through. We're trying to get everything squared away for a big sleep over, Christmas Caroling and award dinner adventure the first weekend in December, but then we'll be done until after New Years.

Off to check the rest of the boards. Have a great day everyone!

Happy Birthday Mickey !!

November 18th !!

November 18, 1928 - Steamboat Mickey was born!!!

Not that I want this to come quick since it is after our cruise :( but very cool news:

Come New Year's Day, the world's most famous mouse will
lead one of its best-known parades. Declaring him "a friend to
families around the world," the Tournament of Roses named Mickey Mouse as grand marshal of the 116th parade, which will have the theme "Celebrate Family."

"Mickey Mouse has brought entertainment, joy and laughter to families around the world for 75 years and we couldn't think of a more ideal grand marshal to help us 'Celebrate Family' in 2005," Tournament of Roses President Dave Davis said in a statement this week.

Although he routinely appears on Disneyland floats in the parade, the cartoon character has only ridden at the head of the procession once before. He accompanied his creator when Walt Disney was grand marshal in 1966. Only a handful of non-humans have led the parade. Kermit the Frog had the honor in 1996 and the puppet Charlie McCarthy was co-marshal with Edgar Bergen in 1940.

After leading the parade, Mickey will toss the coin before the 91st
Rose Bowl football game.
