Hey, I thought it was a GOOD thing to be in touch with your feminine side?

We've got two Fir, and Apple and a Maple.

It can't be true b/c it has BOTH of my kids as Fir....and in REAL life they are as different as night and day!

Thursday, November 11. Veteran's Day. And may I be the first to thank all those in this group who served our country. THANK YOU!

All I really did today was pack and ship, pack and ship. The downside to selling on Ebay. Of course right before that, you get money. That's the upside. Anyone ever heard of an Italian purse designer from the 50s named Roberta di Camerino? Found one of her purses at an estate sale last week. Wish I'd found a dozen of them. Apparently Louis Vuitton is copying her designs now.

Up in the middle of the night last night with a sick kid. She was home all day, fever and nausea. Since she rarely ever gets sick, this was kind of worrisome. But I think she'll be OK by tomorrow.

Walnut Tree (Passion) -- unrelenting, strange and full of contrasts, often egotistic, aggressive, noble, broad horizon, unexpected reactions, spontaneous, unlimited ambition, no flexibility, difficult and uncommon partner, not always liked but often admired, ingenious strategist, very jealous and passionate, no compromise.

Yep! That's me!

Is that what they teach you out there in the West? Here in the SouthEast we don't like touching any of that, especially with our dive buddies.

Keep it to yourself if you have to be touching stuff.

Hornbeam Tree (Good Taste) -- of cool beauty, cares for its looks and condition, good taste, is not egoistic, makes life as comfortable as possible, leads a reasonable and disciplined life, looks for kindness and acknowledgment in an emotional partner, dreams of unusual lovers, is seldom happy with its feelings, mistrusts most people, is never sure of its decisions, very conscientious.

Hornbeam...hmmm kindof sounds like a drink to me, or some unusual lover.:smooth: why couldn't I get that for a pirate name. I don't know if I trust this thing. :teeth:

another movie favorite: The Family Man- Nicholas Cage.

bath time for the girls now. TTFN

Since Jenny hasn't posted a joke this evening, I got this in my email:

A blind man enters an all female bar by mistake.

He finds his way to a bar stool and orders a drink.

After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender, "Hey, you

wanna hear a blonde joke?"

The bar immediately falls absolutely quiet. In a very deep, husky

voice,

the woman next to him says,

"Before you tell that joke, sir, I think it's fair - given that you

are blind-that you know five things:

#1 - The bartender is a blonde girl.

#2 - The bouncer is a blonde girl.

#3 - I'm a 6 feet tall, 220 lb. blonde woman with a black belt in

karate.

#4 - The woman sitting next to me is blonde and is a professional

weight

lifter.

#5 - The lady to your right is a blonde and is a professional wrestler

Now think about it seriously, mister. Do you still wanna tell that

joke?"

The blind man thinks for a second, shakes his head and declares,

"Nah, Not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times."

Thanks. I thought it was Thursday, then read in the paper today that the parade is TOMORROW (Wednesday)

Why can't we do anything on the actual day anymore?

Heck, we haven't had Beggar's Night ON Halloween in YEARS!!! There is a new push to get it back to the 31st, but lawmakers like it how it is.

Did everyone have their chocolate today? Recent information about chocolate:

"Many people refer to chocolate as a "feel good" food. Now researchers are finding that it may also be good for your body as well. Chocolate and cocoa butter contain large quantities of natural antioxidants, called flavonoids. Antioxidants are believed to reduce the number of free radicals in the body that contribute to medical problems, such as heart disease and cancer. Forty grams of chocolate contain about 400 milligrams of antioxidants (about the same amount found in a glass of red wine). Dark chocolate contains about twice that amount. And unsweetened cocoa powder has the most -– about two times as much as dark chocolate.
Researchers studying the effects of chocolate fed a small group of people cocoa powder and dark chocolate. A second group of people ate cocoa butter. The investigators found the participants who ate the cocoa powder and dark chocolate had an increase in antioxidant activity in their blood and a decrease in LDL oxidative susceptibility. (Oxidation of LDL, the bad cholesterol, is believed to lead to atherosclerosis or clogging of the arteries.) In addition, those who ate the cocoa powder and dark chocolate had an increase in HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol). Other studies suggest cocoa may prevent the blood platelets from becoming sticky (which makes blood prone to clotting and can lead to blockages)."

And that's a post worthy of a TOP

I watch my 7yo nephew and 4 yo niece 2 days a week while DM is at sr ctr. My sis and bil are great ppl, just a little odd. Their dog was diagnosed with fleas, vet gave them medicine and frontline with written instructions. They also got a refill on the heartworm. Dog is over 10 so this has been going on for years. I was there today and found out sis gave dog the heartworm, one a day till gone, and was applying the frontline every day. Fortunately for dog the meds were to be given daily. My question, how has the dog lasted ( and he is the best pound puppy ) and what are Nick and Emmy's chances of survival :earseek:

Wow tried for top and ended up 3rd.

Well as long as I'm here I'll give you my day:

I LOVE dark chocolate. I had read this awhile ago and I bought a VERY large Special Dark bar. I think *moderation* is key though!! ;)
