Morning all. All you northerners keep that white stuff up there!! Actually, in the nearly 10 years we've been in MD, I can't remember a time where there was snow before January. We are surrounded by so much water that we get that coastal effect. Not that it doesn't feel really cold. Nothing like damp cold to make you know for sure that it's winter!

Anyway, on to the Christmas theme. Count me in on the singing. I don't think we're going to end up with the scarves we talked about though. My DD and I both love to sing, so if you plan it, we will come.

I also bought two strands of lights from DS's fundraiser, so I'll bring those along with the suction cup thingies to decorate our room. They aren't battery powered, so I'll have to put them inside the cabin.

Dee, thanks for the update on the terms for adoption. My aunt and uncle have 5 adopted children, and were foster parents for at least 40-50 children over the years, but I haven't kept up on things very well since they stopped doing this. What you said makes perfect sense though.

Good Tuesday Morning All!!

What a great morning and I started with a T.O.P.!

Not too much going on here today. I am spending the morning at the spa and then this evening we are going to a "People to People" meeting for Brittany. This is for a student ambassador group that travels to other countries in the summer. We are going to check it out for her. Could you imagine going to Europe for 14 days in the summer without your parents when you were 15? Not me! She also got invited to the Presidental Youth Leadership Conference which will take place during inauguration week(which will mean she will get to attend the inauguration) and I signed her up for that yesterday.

Gotta go get the kids ready for school. Everyone have a great day!

That is a great opportunity for your daughter! My son at 16 spent the summer 5 weeks studying Art History and Theatre in Europe - sans us! They studied in London, Normandy and in Beligium. He was one of 20 kids that accept worldwide to this program. He is still in contact with some of the kids he studied with. It was such a growing experience for him and well worth the money on our end. Imagine studing Shakespeare on Lake Windermeare! Then hearing a lecture in the trenches on Normandy Beach -

LeiLani -- Let me know how the People to People thing works. My daughter was invited to DC, but I thought at 12 she would be too young to travel on her own like that. It was hard enough to send my oldest to New York at 14 with a group from her school.

Made more shore excursions today --- I'm going parasailing with Andrea on Castaway Cay --- things we do for our kids. I need support on this --- so don't tell me any bad things --- only happy thoughts. I'm sure it will be fun, but I'm the one that thought I was doing good when I went up the ski lift at Winter Park this summer --- the anticipation was worse than the actual ride! I'll probably need my very own bottle of wine to celebrate if I survive!!!!

Patty - I did parasailing on CC and it was a blast! Try not to get the last boat of the day however. I did and they were in such a rush to get back to the ship (they had already sounded the all aboard) that we got drenched from the wake!

The up and down is so gentle you don't really feel it.

Take two disposable cameras - take one up with you and leave one with someone on the boat to take pics of you going up.
Great memories!
