Hi Lorraine- Nope, no luck in booking resses for the REAS yet. My TA can't even get DCL to admit that they would accept preferences. They told her they would even accept bookings until they faxed the TA when they were ready. It's okay, though. I don't want to commit to any dates until they release the days for formal, semi-formal, themed nights, etc. Seems that they won't be ready until end of October...we'll see.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday - and a special good luck to all of our Floridians with hurricane Jeanne.

Lorraine, I got the same info about the REAS dates. The package was added to my resie, but DU can only take your requests for dates at this time -- they can't confirm until DCL opens up PALO and the spa dates. I was told mid-to-late Oct.

Jim, hope you didn't send Lisa out in the storm, she might blow away! TWC had a reporter at Daytona Beach last night, so we got great shots of your coastline. Poor beaches!

DH had a thought that we might enjoy the REAS. While the thought was very nice, I had this image of our DD 13's reaction to it. Rose petals on the bed (Why didn't I get any?); breakfast in bed (where's mine?). You get the picture. Best left to a cruise for just the two of us, sometime off in the future. We might still be sailing on DCL, we like it so much.

Along that line, I need to ask the Fluff Queen a question. Lynda, are you out there? My Dad's SO wants to go on a cruise, but she also has a service dog. She didn't think any cruise lines would allow the dog, but I told her I know someone cruising DCL. Are there any other cruise lines that will accomodate the dogs? I'm not sure they are ready for a Disney cruise, though I did tell them how nice the adult areas are.

It is soo sad.

But, We were watching a combination of News 2 Orlando, Weather Channel and CNN. One of CNN's guys DID get blown away. One minute he was ther in front of the camera, next, 20 feet away in the grass. They said he's ok.

Hi all! Popped in the office for a few minutes this Sunday a.m. Tried to get on the boards at home, but from reading the posts looks like there has been some trouble getting in.

Hope everyone in FL is okay. I am just worried sick about everyone and CC everytime another hurricane is coming. I think I am heading to Jim's for dinner. His family eats better during hurricanes than I eat all year (well, except for when we cruise!!) But I need to keep the weight off I've lost, so I am trying to be good.

Okay, things to do. Have a great Sunday. Wish is was going to be about 3 days longer, got lots to do.

We had that same thought about the REAS, but after all the issues with trying to book the excursions Sharon decided not to fight trying to get Palo reservations and signed up for REAS. We figured the kids would enjoy the rose petals. They are not that special for Sharon any more. She gets them on her bed every weekend along with breakfast in bed. That's the kind of guy I am.

Listening to the radio the damage does not sound as bad as with Frances. Jeanne came on shore only 5 miles from where Frances did. They are not yet reporting on the CC, but I would be surprised if the damage is going to be as bad.

The winds are still blowing and it's been at least 14 hours. Not as much rain this time. I think I will be safe to take down the plywood this weekend!

Good to hear, Jim. Looks like TS Lisa will stay out of your yard, anyway. Your kids may be going to school until it starts again next year, though.

Almost sounds like Orlando got it worse. Losing part of the airport is kind of a disaster. That happened during Charley too.

Can anyone tell me.....if I sign me and ohiomickey up for REAS, can we make Palo reservations for both us AND my parents (as one group)? Or will we only be able to make reservations for us since we are the only ones with REAS?

From what I've read in the past, yes you can make it for more than just the two of you. I think they would frown on trying to make them for a large group, but don't think you'll have a problem booking it for the 4 of you.

Also from what I've read you can order as much breakfast as you want so those of you with kids in the cabin if you add a few extra things to share with them you'll be fine.

Good Sunday Evening Everyone!!!

Just popped in for a quick hello. We went furniture shopping again today and we drove over to the Ethan Allen store in Cedar Rapids. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! We ended up with new living furniture and new bedroom furniture for Alyssa. Both of them were desperately needed but it sure hurts the old wallet.

Off to do some research on vacation spots for spring break. Everyone have a great evening and I hope all the Floridians are safe and sound.

Trying to finalize our excursions and I needed to know --what city the ship docks in / or what side of the islands in the added ports. I'm looking at some things on our own and I like to have some idea of how far removed the ship is from the shops & sites.

Vicki - the following is from our Frommer's book:

Antiqua - Most cruise ships dock at Heritage Quay in St. John's , the islands capital and the only city of any size.

St. Lucia - Most cruise ships arrive at a fairly new (well the book is from 2003) pier at Piuenta Seraphine within walking distance of the center of Castries.

Hi Everyone!

Just posting to say hello to everyone and hope everyone made it safely through Jeanne's hurricane path. We are getting excited about our trip and are going to probably go with the 2 across cabins on deck 6 - I just can't see spending that extra $$$ especially when dh has gone out of his way to renew our vows - maybe another time with the cat.3!!

Oh well, so now we will just continue to book tours and spend our money on those items as we are now getting them for "free"(the cost of the excursions and renewal vs. what we would have spent that money on the cat. 3) - that is the way I like to rationalize my spending habits

Our trip excursions are as follows:

Key west - on our own
Antigua- Eli's Eco Tour
St. Thomas - private tour
St. Martin - Private tour
St. Lucia - Private tour/ pm Pirate ship
Castaway Cay - tried to book teen cruise - but sold out for now

Also on the cruise list my sister Allison and Marc are not going to join us so you can delete their names from the dis passenger list! I think they had enough of cruising for now after their Magic 9/11/04 cruise and decided to pass on the holiday cruise!

The power is back on, just in time to go to bed. Of course it did not stop us from cooking the steaks tonight. Had to use the New York Strips up since they thawed already.

The wind is still blowing. Jeanne just keeps on giving and giving.

I'm starting to run out of chores for the kids to do since they have been out of school more than in school. I'll come up with something before tomorrow. I got it, they can pull all of the deck furniture out of the pool (yes, we just throw our pool furniture in the pool when a hurricane comes. It keeps them safe and cleans them).
