I have a camera question for any one of you guys.....do you think since we're only snorkeling that I'll need the strobe? I've used flash cameras before (when snorkeling) and it never seemed to be enough light. I was thinking maybe this new camera might have a better flash than those cheap ones......
Definitely! Buying a strobe for a "snorkeling camera" is a waste of money. Spend that extra on some more wine for our tasting party!!Originally posted by scuba diver
The strobe only works if you are within a few feet of your subject. They are not for macro shots. They are also helpful when the color has been taken out of the subject due to depth. At snorkling depth I don't see any need for a strobe, especially on a clear, sunny day. If you want, just use the flash on the camera.
Tinksdad, do you agree?

P.S. LeiLani....I'll have to look at the calendar and see exactly what days I'll be in Vegas...it's not the whole week, just a few days. And I don't know yet if I'll go the first half of the week or the last half.
