Thanks Stacey...........for the wine tasting get-together.

Very hospitable of you.

Looking forward to it.

Well........I'll be off-line for a few days.

The computer has to see the doctor.

Needs a checkup to fix some minor problems.

I'm sure there will be many pages to catch up on.

Virgil - We are close to SF. If you know what your schedule will be like while you're out this way, PM me. We can try to hook up! Love to meet another DISer before the cruise!

Lisa (tdk Lisa) - Very cool that we'll be at BWV at the same time. We too have a standard view studio booked. We should try to meet up for drinks or even dinner one night. Sounds like you're doing the same thing we are, staying closer to the airport the night before to get the roundtrip towncar to and from the port.

Have a great day all,

Kara :mickeybar

Hi all - checking in at lunch. My but you've been busy this morning!

Lisa - that sounds so much like something I would do. We could have seen you on the national news for shutting down the airport! :D

all ears - welcome back. I think I gave you newsletter info before but if you need it drop me a pm.

Stacey's got a doorbell - cool! Ding! Dong!

So I was thinking after reading some of the posts from gaRry, afff and Virgil that they have some crazy schedule. Thought that would spark some great conversation.

What are you in regular life? Morning person? Night Owl?

How will that translate into cruise time.

I'll go first. I'm definately a morning person (but I guess you all knew that :D ) I'm up between 5 - 5:30, at work by 7:30 and usually call it a night between 9 - 9:30.

On the cruise we'll have early seating. We are used to dinner in the 5:30-6:30 time frame so this works for us. We'll do the big shows but usually don't make the late night shows. We finally did the nighttime deck party on cruise #5 :D

I'll usually be up before Mark and that's why I love our verandah - a great place to go and read a book and start the day.

So what about you and your family. Are you a morning person who gets up to watch the sun rise and retires early? Or are you a night owl who likes to party and sleep late the next morning? Or are you that rare breed that can go without sleep on vacation and want to do it all morning, noon and night?

One more thing before I head back to work. Kara had a great idea for the next newsletter. She thought it would be great if we could list what excursions we are all on so we'll know who from the DIS is on our excursions with us.

So post your excursions or pm them to me if you want and I'll do a tally for the newsletter. Sound like fun?

Lisa-just think...........................

You could have been on the national news with Cat Stevens.....................Oh baby, baby it's a wild world..................
In fact, I think on that same album (Tea for the Tillerman), the following song is SAD LISA!!!!
Wow, who would have known. I was a big Cat Stevens fan back in the 70's.

Anyway Lisa, you could have just gone to jail now, instead of waiting for when they handcuff us all when we get off the ship for being bad, bad, parents, all taking our kids out of school early!

Linda

Lucky for me, I know how to wire & unwire a doorbell!
But you're right, after 10 minutes I would answer....we're not as young as we used to be! ;)

Obviously, I'm not at work. I went to the dentist for a routine cleaning. But I knew I had a problem with a couple of teeth.
Just my luck, the dentist had 2 open slots after me.
So, 3 hours and $966.00 later, I am home, waiting for the novacaine to wear off and the pain to begin. The tooth that was cracked had decay, he hollowed it out, removed a section from the side of it, and filled it back in and sealed it. The other two (yes, 2) just had to be drilled & filled along one side. I'm numb on one side all the way to my eyebrow. And my voice is worse again.
(whine whine....where's my cheese?)
The reason these teeth are so bad (and I knew this) is because I clench my teeth constantly. I try to remind myself to stop....doesn't help.
Funny, though....he's asking me "Are you stressed? Work been busy? The kids? Life in general?" So I said "All of the above".
Got fitted for a mouthpiece to help me stop ruining my teeth.

Lisa....you trouble maker! We're sending you off the ship to greet the cops first! Sounds like you know how to get us all out of trouble!

Mary...I'll answer your great questions later, okay? Going to go lay down.

Kara, my Mom's aunt and uncle lived in Sunnyvale before they passed away....I think their two adult kids still may live there. Not that you'd know them, but their last name was/is Jordan. That's where my Jordan (DD) got her name.

Off to lay down, before the pain sets in. I knew there was a reason I hated going to the dentist.

I can never figure out why people actually become dentists. BLECH! We had a friend who was dating a dental hygenists and she'd tell us stories about what she found in ppls teeth and we'd either crack up or shudder...or both. My favorite story was when the guy came in and had curly hairs stuck between his teeth. Ok, Mr....ever hear of FLOSS??

Anyway, sorry if you laughed and it caused pain. Plenty of Motrin and rest tonight. Do NOT try to make dinner. Jay should take the kids out to dinner and let you rest on the couch. :) Hope you feel better soon, Stace. :)

That's what I need to do! More diving practice!!:Pinkbounc

Just woke up. Had to set the alarm to pick up Jordan, then I have to go get Jared, then take Jordan to dance. Then crash again.

Novacaine wore off, pain has set in. Could you guys please not be so funny???? I can't LOL.......

Umm, Kevin.....nah, never mind.

Thanks Mary & Ohminnie....I believe that I will be taking your advice.

Linda, you're funny:rotfl:

Answering Mary's question:
I am a night owl. It's only been lately that I have been going to sleep early. Even as a night owl, though, I usually get up pretty early. Jared is a night owl who gets up early no matter what. Jordan is a night owl who would like to sleep all day (teenager). Jay is the "early to bed, early to rise" person.
When we're on vacation, though, we prefer to go to bed early and get up early. Don't want to miss a single waking moment of fun. But I do intend to make it to the clubs and any other late night party at least once or twice on this trip!
Mornings on the ship will find me out on the verandah with my coffee first, then Jay usually joins me. We might actually tear ourselves away once or twice to have breakfast. But we're pretty happy to have rolls & toast, juice & coffee on the verandah. This time, if you go to the buffet for breakfast, just lean over and holler down a "Good morning" to us!

Time to get Jared. He's started staying after school two days a week in the school's homework assistance program. Courtesy of Mom and Dad. He's delighted to be there. Not.

I'd take some Motrin or whatever, but I haven't eaten anything today...can you take that stuff on an empty stomach? Maybe I'll swing through DQ's drive-in and get a milkshake.

The far back stairway from deck 8 to 9 makes it really easy to run up to Topsiders. We've gone up a couple of mornings and then brought our trays down to our veranda. The best of both worlds!

Stacey-

After you stop at DQ and get that milkshake, swing by the mall, I'm sure you will start feeling better pretty quickly!!!!

:teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :headache: :headache:

Sorry about the teeth Stacy, hope DQ worked. Am recovering from another day of Santa Anas and highs in the 90's. Called the reservation desk today...aargh. Can you all save a spot for me and DH? They are telling me I can't reserve anything until Oct 17. At the rate its going with just the DISers there won't be spots.:worried: on the pirate cruise that is.
Off to PTA meeting and back to school night. OH joy. Have a great evening. Survivor and the Apprentice. woohoo

Denise - that seems strange. I would call again. I think everyone else who has tried to book has been able to whether they are paid in full or not. Maybe you just got someone who wasn't up to speed. I would definately call again in the morning.

Stacey, would that be a port or starboard look over the rail? Hope you're feeling better soon. The dentist is the absolute worst. I once told a dentist that getting a shot from him was worse than my C-section. I don't think he was thrilled to hear that.

Dance is done for the night, but homework is not. I did get to watch Survivor, though. Verrrrry Interrrresting. Next week looks good too.

I'm something of an insomniac, therefore a nightowl. DH is an early-to-bed early riser. He has to go into training so he can stay up nights on the cruise.

Woke up for a little while. Taking a pill and going back to bed. My jaw and the site of the injection hurt the most.

Diana....I told him (the dentist) today that I hated coming there. He said he'd be surprised if anyone ever said they liked it. I also told him that I have my mammogram tomorrow, and I'd rather do that twice! It's a good thing we're friends, or he probably would have made that shot hurt!
Starboard, by the way.

Linda, I wish I could "swing by the mall"....it's nearly an hour away! I did get a small ice cream cone.....I forgot and tried to take a bite out of it....yeow! Can't open my mouth that far.

Back to bed. Good night everyone!

Stacey
