Guys, need some prayers for my aunt and uncle.

We went to the annual labor day family reunion. It was the first time in about 7 yrs b/c this family is a bit crazy (swearing, drinking, etc) and once KT got to the impressionable age I didn't want her exposed to that a lot until she was old enough to know that some things just weren't appropriate.

Well, while there, my uncle (mom's brother) and aunt (his wife) came in on their Harley. No helmets. KT and Nick made a comment to me about them not having helmets. On the way back to Columbus we were passed by riders without helmets and again, my uncle and aunt came up.

Well, last night, they were in downtown Cleveland and either ran into a car or the car ran into them....it's sketchy right now. My uncle is unconscious and has a shattered femur. My aunt has two skull fractures, broken ribs, a punctured lung, is bleeding from her ears and is also unconscious. Virgil, you'll appreciate this, her coma scale score in the ER was 3. It's now 7. An improvement, but still not good.

Anyway, a prayer or two would be much appreciated.
Thanks all.

Karen, that's very sad. I'll be praying for them. Prayers can do a lot, you know. What a lesson for your kids.

And I never said that you aren't a Geek. :D Sounds like you've embraced it very well! Your kids will be great improv comedians when they grow up!

We are a non-singing family. We like to do it, it's just not much fun for anyone within earshot. We'll just dance along.

Jim, love the story about DD and chores. Good thing she's not on the boards, eh?

Ohiominnie.....sending lots of prayers and pixie dust.

Then why have it there? That's WEIRD!

They used to let people play it, but I don't know if the neighbors complained about the noise, or if DCL just didn't want it to get ruined, so now you can't play it. I've seen old pianos in musuems where they have the keys covered in plexi-glass...if that's what DCL did, it wouldn't be very attractive, would it?

I'm guessing that they keep it either because it meant something special to Walt, or to just make the room more "special" than the Roy. Personally, if I were ever lucky (or rich) enough to get a Cat 1, I'd ask for the Roy......more space to move around in.

Just couldn't resist sneaking in and doing that!

Of course, as slow as this is going today, someone probably beat me to it!

Stacey... thanks for the info on Curacao on the other thread.

You are most welcome! If there's anything else you'd like to know, just ask. We had ten days to explore the island.

Since he is out of school for the week, DS decided to re-do his room. That means lots of trips to "The Mother Ship".

He called this morning asking how to remove wall paper. This could get serious.

Would this ambitious fellow like to come visit Arizona???

Okay, I leave Thursday pm for Lake Powell and come back in this morning and have a novel to read.....well 27 pages to catch up on!!!

Thanks Stace for the Curacao info on the other thread. Should have known you have been there before. And a business trip to Vegas Nov. 17-24, yeah right, sure......who else believes that story?

Had a great weekend at the lake, except for the mini hurricane storm, the cooler spread out all over the shore from the storm, the boat breaking down at mile marker 46 then being towed into Dangling Rope Marina at mile marker 40. Yes, and it is a Dangling marina, it got bombarded on Friday during the mini hurricane and broke from the anchors!!! There is no transporation in and out of that marina except by boat. So, our boat is sitting at Dangling Rope and being towed in 40 miles tomorrow behind the trash and ice barge!!!! Gotta love spending that money to fix the "Sea U Later" boat, probably would have been better if it sunk and I could get a new one with the insurance money!!!! Good thing we had friends with us with their boat. Unloaded everything off ours, left it, and came back in the 40 miles and stayed in hotel on Sunday night!!!!

But really did have a good time!

Favorite character-Tigger. Our motor home had license plates with "Tigger" on them. Sold that. Cost too much money and I like to cruise too much!!

Okay, now that it is 11 a.m. MST, guess I better get some work done in the next hour, cuz then I have to go to important appointment-get my nails done today!!

Gosh, who has time for work anyway?

Linda

:bounce:

Boy, having trouble posting today. I still haven't been able to open page 622!

Scubadiver, your son is going to do his own room???? I'm with Stace... How can I get those kids!

DD has a drs appointment this afternoon, so I'll be leaving soon to pick her up.

Karen, I'll pray for your aunt and uncle. DS would really like a little motorcycle. DH and he look at the want ads occasionally, and I just cringe!

Tina, I just can't imagine the stress of trying to get up to Hershey after school. And that's about the time that homework is going to really kick in. Maybe we can plan a weekend meet up your way like we tried this summer. Are you staying in town for Thanksgiving? Something that weekend might work out well.

Sorry, but from what I hear the diving is not all that great in Arizona.

Karen - keeping your family in my prayers.

Barb - :bday: Hope it's a great one.

Happy Birthday Jilljill! Here's your song:

:rockband: :charac2:

Someone else will have bring the cake, I brought the band.

Good afternoon everyone! :wizard:

Karen - Your aunt and uncle are in my thoughts and prayers. They recinded the helmet law here in FL too and I cringe every time I see riders without one. I used to have a little motor scooter and even wore a helmet with that.

I must have missed the Favorite character thingy... well, mine is Mickey... as the Sorcerer's Apprentice. Then The Evil Queen is a very close second.... she's just such a Diva....LOL I like all the Villains but she is #1. Then Stitch....another BAD one...LOL I see a trend here.... hmmmmm

Here's an excursion question for those who have taken snorkleing excursions. Do they always provide equipment? If so...Do you HAVE to use their equipment? Can you bring your own even if it is the crappy type? I am just used to it and I don't relish the thought of using someone elses mouthpiece.... despite the fact that it might have been "sanitized" ! Not by MY standards I'm sure...LOL:teeth:

Good Tuesday Afternoon Holiday Cruisers!

:bday: :bday: Jilljill Hope you have a great day.

dobelover - Welcome, it's great to have you aboard.

Leslie - most of the snorkeling excursions provide equipment, but they will also let you bring your own. We brought our own equipment in April and we are taking it again in Dec. The hardest part is finding another suitcase to fit it in.

Linda - sorry to hear about your boat, hope you get it fixed soon. We had ours out on the lake this weekend and I thought about you on Lake Powell. I couldn't believe how low Lake Mead was this summer, is Lake Powell that bad?

We always bring our own snorkels and masks. We usually use their fins since they weigh so much.
Also I have my own floaty vest.

I didn't want to post a book again so I split this up.

Karen - our thoughts and prayers go out to your Aunt and Uncle. DH deals with a lot of injuries from motorcycle accidents and says they can be pretty bad.

Stacey - When we were in the Walt suite in April there was nothing stopping you from playing the piano. I did not really try though because I do not know how to play well yet, so the the CMs might have stopped me if I had tried. I agree with you though, the piano takes up a lot of space in the living room so for our future request for Cat 1's we have requested the Roy suite.

Mary - I can't seem to access the Sept. newsletter. I can bring up the website but when I scroll down it stops at Aug 2004. Any clues?

Glad to see all of our Floridians are safe and sound with little damage. I know what those hurricanes are like and sitting through one is not fun.

Favorite character is Tinkerbell - of course!

But I also like that blonde, blue-eyed one whose name is derived from Alicia.

I am planning to buy snorkel equipment before we go this time as it will be so much easier than worrying about hiring it on trips. Also easier for the kids as they can have smaller versions.

Karen - my thoughts are with your aunt and uncle. I hope they both make a good recovery. My Dad was in a motorcycle accident many years ago and still has the holes in his legs where they pinned him back together. The problem is you are always so vulnerable when you hit something (or something hits you) when you're on a bike.

I should probably know this but I'm a bit confused about the t-shirts. Can we choose any color and any of the designs we like? I remember ages back we were saying which ones we liked but I thought we would all have to have the same. I'd like to have one - if only so I can wear it and you'll all know who I am.
