Well, enough of this...
The Panama Canal group is starting a Book Club and has two books selected already and I've got to teach Cash how to recognize the word SIT as typed on a huge flash card...(the reverse of the card has the cutest stick figure of a dog sitting). I hope he doesn't expect me to let him cheat by looking at the picture.....
I'll let you know how it's going. Could come in very useful if I lose my voice or get locked in a band practice room.....
The service dog training cruise is Nov. 6. I taught Cash to pee in a box on command in 4 weeks. Wonder how fast he can learn to read...Top of shopping list: Three cans of Cheese Whiz....doggie treats....

Gail - sounds like a great trip. Hope you DH is recovered - that sounds quite scarey. We are hoping to do a trip without our kids but I do worry about missing them. We've done weekends before but not a whole week. I don't suppose they'd miss us though.

Morning all. Kids first day of school went well. But on the way home, DD says "I don't feel good", and that was all she wrote! Made an unscheduled stop by the side of the road, and I'm home today with her. Since I'm not feeling well myself, I assume it's some sort of bug.

DD's chorus winter concert might be the 15th, and it's mandatory attendance. Apparently there are 2 dates, the 8th and the 15th. I've sent the teacher a pleading email explaining that we couldn't get any other flights, ya da ya da ya da. Hopefully she's on the 8th, so it's no big deal, but we'll see how it turns out! I figured the earlier I brought it up, the better they could work around it.

Gayle, my goodness such excitement from your trip! At least you have some memories! I used to work with a Navy commander who had two sets of fraternal twins. The oldest are DD's age (7th grade now), and the youngest are probably 2nd grade now. Each set is boy/girl though. Working with so many Navy guys, it is interesting to see how the kids are spread out around the deployment cycles!

Stace, sounds like a fun trip. It does amaze me how they really do up things out in Vegas. It just goes to show how much money must flow through that place! I just can't imagine.

GaRry, great! You're starting on the shirts. I'm going to order 6 of the blue ones. And seeing you guys at Hershey will be great! Anyone else have an opinion on the dinner? Or want to take me up on the $30 tickets?

Well, I'd better sign off and get DD something to drink. I'm afraid she's getting a little dehydrated.

Happy Tuesday all!

School started around here last week and turns out yesterday was dh's busiest day in the office in over a month....
Nice of those kids to pass the germs around to help us pay for our cruise!!! :)

I guess I can't say too much about Gail's poor husband.....I had a horse do the exact same thing to me one time. See if I ever lean up next to the stall door again. And they leave grass stain when they bite!
Was the horse looking for bees by any chance?!? :teeth:  I'm surprised gaRry didn't come up with some sort of comment.

Well as you can see by my new countdown timer, we have another new settlement date. This date will not change. We sold our house over the weekend, it sold in 48 hours for the listing price :bounce: . A very nice, young couple from Lithuania bought it - they attended the university that is here. The neighbors will be glad that it's not gonna be another rental property on the street.

I get to have somewhat emergency oral surgery this afternoon and have 2 teeth removed :earseek: - what fun that will be. The surgeon said I should be in the hospital since they are infected so badly and was even more surprised to hear that I was taking Penicillin. Hopefully tomorrow will be a much better day for me.

Yes - we've been terribly busy in the ER too, I was in our CareCenter (fast track, urgent care) yesterday and was overwhelmeed with patients.... stayed over an 1 1/2 hrs past my shift....

Hopefully today in the main ER will be better......

Barb - congratulations on selling the house so quickly - I bet that takes a load off your mind.....

Shirts - yes - shirts - we want shirts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoa, see what happens when you go to bed early? Four pages!

Stacey, sounds like you at least broke even on your trip. Doesn't sound like you were a loser to me! Did you take pictures of the suite? I wanna see.

Barb, sorry you have to do dentist time. That's the worst.

DD felt sort of sick the first week of school, and said that lots of kids were out sick. Must be Backtoschoolitis.

Today is picture day at DD's school. She left mad at me because I made her change her t-shirt to a nice blue blouse. The one she was wearing said "Ewe's not fat, ewe's fluffy". What a good memory for when she's grown, eh?

I like this! Very cute! I'll have to tell ohiomickey and maybe he can code for this on his encounter sheets.

:rotfl: Diana, you spoilsport! Jordan had picture Day today, too...I was still sleeping, so Lord knows what she wore!

That's a lot of us who've had sick kids the first week of school.... Jordan settled in and is great now.

I have pictures of the room, but not the dinner. I wouldn't take pictures in there, it would feel too "touristy" or something. But when I take them in the rooms, it's "documentation". Just in case I write a book or something. (sure)

Very good, jilljill...bees....I doubt it! Sorry about your dental surgery! Good luck!

Well, back to reality. Guess I'll go to work. Darn.

Have a great day, everyone!

Stacey

GEEZ------I knew Ms. Yakkity Yak had to be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gone for a few and I had to read a novel to catch up!!!!!!

Stace-glad you had a great time. Obviously I am hanging out with the wrong people. I love Phil Collins! Saw him 10-15 years ago, one of the best concerts I have been too. Sorry the acoustics were bad, that's a bummer!!!!

And Lynda and Cash, glad to see you back to! Don't get lost. I've got you on my shopping list still on the way to the port!

Gail- I loved your story. Especially this line:

We met lovely people and the week flew by so fat.

So, did that mean you gained some weight on this latest trip? Just kidding!!!! Could you imagine someone naked and drunk on DCL? Now that would be funny!

Okay, today I am heading up to Park City, Utah. Have to go do site visits for a spring meeting in 2005. Think I am going to choose a place called "The Canyons". It is where the Today Show was during the 2002 Winter Olympics. Anyway, I get to be wined and dined today, that's the closest I will be to Stacey's latest little excursion! WOW-a free lunch!!!! Maybe I can talk them into a free room to try out the place?

Have a great day everyone.

Linda

I knew something was going on when I pulled up the thread and had 6 pages to read since I signed off yesterday afternoon. You guys sure were busy.

Welcome Back Stacey & Gail - it sure sounds like you guys had a great time. Stacey - sorry you didn't win big gambling but it sounds like it turned out okay. Gail - sorry to hear about DH, I sure hope he is feeling better. That's what scares me about snorkeling and suba diving.

Barb - congrats on selling the house and sorry about the dentist. I hope everything goes okay and you feel better soon.

Lynda - our ressie for LTT is at 4:30 also, so if we are sitting near each other the girls can be on the look out for mean characters who scare dogs. They will tell them to be nice to the dog and don't scare him. As the cruise gets closer please remind us if there is anything we can bring for Cash. I know the kids cannot play with him, but it would be fun to bring him a treat or toy.

Anyone else for LTT at 4:30. Lynda & the Wonder Dog Cash, and the Naylor's will be there. Paul - I know yours is for 5pm so maybe we can see each other in passing. We should come up with something so we can recognize each other at MVMCP since there will be so many of us there on the 17th. Or maybe a mini meet somewhere? Anybody have any ideas?

gaRry - we are definitely in on the shirts so just let us know what you want us to do.

LeiLani

Hey, Linda....never hurts to ask....you'd be surprised what they'll do if you ask real nice!
I would have never thought I could get what I do....
The doctor at dinner next to me Saturday night didn't like the house champagne, so he asked for Dom Perignon....only he just said "Dom, please". I nodded my head and tapped my champagne glass. We got the "Dom". Later I thought to myself, you dummy, you should have one-upped him and asked for Cristal! Just a little old gal from Cave Creek.....yep yep yep.

You mean it's wrong to run naked on the ship? Oops.
Just kidding...I'd get arrested for that. The Bahamas have gross-out laws.

Work? I knew I had somewhere I was supposed to be!

Ms. Yakkity Yak is Back! :hyper2: puckerup:

Forgot....Hi LeiLani!!!!......LTT...we don't get in until 4:30 or so, and that's if I don't miss the flight again.....by the time we do a grocery stop, check in to the GF....we'll probably just grab a quick snack and rest till MVMCP.
But I think we had one of our best meals at the LTT. We loved it!
Give me good old turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy any day!

Although we haven't appeared in too many photos we should be pretty easy to recognize at LTT....I have yet to encounter another Service Dog in a WDW eatery...

Linda...Your offer of a dog food pickup is greatly appreciated! I think a 10-pound bag ought to do it...10 days, 10 pounds of kibble...plus the doggie treats he carries in his pack. So far this year we've traveled to Florida twice for WDW vacations and each time I bought him chew toys and other goodies...Would he eat them? Nope. Even things he has at home he turned his nose up at...Of course with his potty breaks being so rigidly controlled it finally dawned on me that having him get a sensitive stomach might not be the best of ideas...especially on the cruise...I had to put up a fight to get him there and all he needs is one little bout of stomach upset and I'll be paranoid the rest of the trip....He loves to play catch and I was going to toss a tennis ball around on the May cruise but I couldn't get the horrible picture of him chasing a ball overboard out of my head...besides, there was no room on the decks and the verandah was too slippery... When we got to Castaway Cay I let him off leash to explore the scrub brush areas at the side of the tram road while I was riding the scooter and he really got into that....
We should get a little more experience with what can and can't be accomplished on the 7-day HAL training cruise... There will be 17 other service dogs on that cruise.

I know one thing...He will be ever grateful if the characters remember not to try and include him in their antics...any help in reminding them would be greatly appreciated!

It looks like there may be some changes to DCL when we cruise in Dec. There is a thread on the cruise line board talking about upcoming changes to DCL. Here is a link from the thread with the informaion:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/news.htm

Most of it is changes to the kids programing but some of it sounds pretty interesting. I am curious what is meant about casual dinning. Is this the buffet at Topsiders, or are they talking about lunch in the dinning rooms?

Stacey - since you won't be able to do LTT, we will have to keep in touch and meet somewhere. I am sure Britt would love to hang out with Jordan.

LeiLani

Lynda - I know you will Cash will be easy to spot. I don't think I have seen a service dog in the parks, let alone a restaurant. I meant the rest of us, since we will look just like any other family at MVMCP. We will definitely be on the look out for you and Cash.
