about that trivia question...

I bet it has something to do with the filtration system being hospitable to algae particles. They do the same thing with the Fantasmic! moat - so you don't see the gasline pipes.

Eager to hear the Disney answer.

got to love Disney trivia, especially when it wins you a free round of golf at Winter Summerland. Or is it Summer Winterland? Ahh.. another trivia question is born.

Disneyland Trivia Question

Why do the Rivers of America (the water surrounding Tom Sawyer Island) look all moldy & green, and what does Disney do to keep it clean???
The water in the Rivers of America is actually clean. It is chemically treated to make it look murky.
The dark water systems at Disney Parks, including the Rivers of America, the Jungle Cruise, and the castle moat, are kept dark with green and brown dye so you can't see the tracks and equipment under water.

:cheer2: jilljill wins!!!!!

I should have known I wasn't clever enough to trick you!

We were told they use food coloring so as not to harm the fish and ducks.

Now, what's Summer Winterland, or Winter Summerland???

Winter Summerland is the mini golf outside of Blizzard Beach.

:rockband:

I just wanted to use that smilie, since I never have had any reason to.

Thanks for straightening out that summerwinterland thing.

:space:

Where is everyone, anyway??? Did you all get abducted??

And what happened to the "dog" smilie? The cat one is still there.

Well, I'm back amongst the living, we survived the dance recital. Friday night was a 7 hour dress rehearsal, and yesterday there were two three-hour shows. DD got very tired, but she held up pretty well, and made all of her quick changes. DH spent three hours Saturday picking thorns off roses to sell for the dance team fundraiser. He's still got a couple in his thumb. It's all over, yay! Glad it's only every other year.

Mary and Stacey, I get a prickly heat type rash around my lower legs when we go to WDW in summer. It's incredibly ugly and a little itchy, but I found out that aloe vera gel clears it up pretty quickly. Now if only I could figure out how to keep from getting it.

Leilani, Alicia would love to e-mail with your DD. Unfortunately, her computer has been confiscated until she gets her room in order, so it might be a while. I have your e-mail address, I'll pass it along to her.

Hi Diana!
I'm still up, still printing pictures. It would have been easier to use the 35mm and let Walgreens develop them!
Glad the recital went well. Why was DH selling thorns? Just teasing.......
Did you take pictures of Alicia? Jordan is getting so excited about the competition in Las Vegas. She heard on the radio that a dance troupe here was having a car wash to raise money to go.

All I have figured out about my legs doing that, is that it only happens when I walk alot , which is usually only in the parks, and it happens more when the weather is warm/hot. I had thought that it was the extra weight I'm lugging around right now, because it hadn't happened the last few trips, but those were also at Christmas, so who knows?
I had aloe with me, too....wish I'd thought to use it! Thanks for the tip for next time.
Stacey

Stacey - Nice trivia. I didn't know about the water being colored. You are a wealth of information!

Just wish I were wealthy! ::yes::

Maybe this one will stump jilljill:

In the Disney Gallery, there is a small area where there is now a cash register for purchases......what was that area originally?

Of course, we'll have to wait until she gets up tomorrow for her answer, unless someone else (Paul?) knows.

I guess I should clarify...that's the Disney Gallery in Disneyland.

Which, by the way, was built for what purpose??

Remind me not to pick you as a partner for Mouseketeer.

Tune in tomorrow for jilljill the trivia Queen.

I've had all the fun I can have for one day. Still have about 180 pics to print....made copies for family already, starting my own.

I have to get up and go help my friend pick out tile for her new house tomorrow, so the pictures will have to wait. I will check in for the trivia answer though.
But for now:

MARVELOUS MEMORIAL DAY MONDAY TO ALL OF OUR EASTS, WESTS, MIDS, AND ACROSS THE OCEAN CRUISERS!!

'Night All!

Stacey

I did, but I think after sitting here all day, I'm glued to the seat!

Oh, and Virgil......I cooked dinner again tonight. That's two nights in a row...a new record! Hope the ER isn't too crowded. (Here, that is)

All right time for me to get my beauty sleep and man I need it real bad!

Good night All!

Paul

Good Morning Everyone!

I'll take a crack at the trivia question.

Where the Gallery is now was an apartment Walt area Walt was building. He already had an apartment over the firehouse on main street. If you look in the railings you will see a W for Walt and a R for Roy.

As for the area by the cash register. There is a sink back there as that was supposed to be the wet bar in the apartment.
