I think you did good, Stacey. That set looks familiar, are they from the Disney catalog? How big are they? I'm trying not to buy anything very big, because we're planning to move in five years. So far, that hasn't been working. Let's see, new living room furniture, new refrigerator. It would be nicer to just sell off all of our "old stuff" before we move, and buy all new when we get there!

Gorgeous day here, simply gorgeous. I hear lots of baby birds out my window. Spring is the best time in the desert!

Time for me to work too...

Wow - really quiet day here on the thread!

Don't have much to add so let's start a discussion.

Two quick questions:

1) What made you book the 10 day cruise?

2) What brought you to the DIS originally?

Hi! Home from work!

Diana, yes, they were from the Disney catalog. The Dwarfs are each approx 12" tall. They're not very heavy, and come nicely packed....so if you did move, and you saved the box......

Mary's questions....let's see....I'll go backwards....I started on the DIS boards to get answers to questions I had for the wedding cruise. We had done a 3-day before that, and I felt like I had missed so much, because we weren't very well informed. Once I found out how wonderful everyone is here, I was hooked!

Booking the 10-Day? Lots of reasons. The length of the cruise, we hated getting off the ship, so this was a way to get to stay longer. The ports....when else might we have a chance to visit so many islands all at once? The uniqueness of this particular sailing....(okay, I'll admit it....I wanted to be able to say I was one of the ones on the "special Christmas Sailing")
And the best reason: I had heard rumors that there was this really great group of DIS'ers that had gotten a thread going, and were going to sail together......

Good Evening

Just wondering if anyone is planning to go to any Star Wars Weekends this year. We will be there the weekend of May 14-15-16. Thought maybe I could put a face with a name from the board.
:space:

Notice I finally got the countdown to work - well, actually, my 15 year old Star Wars fanatic son got it to work.::yes::

Guess I should answer my own question huh?

! found the DIS back when we first bought into DVC. I actually found it when I was doing DVC research. We had already taken our first cruise - a 3 day as part of the land/sea package.

I think my first posts must have been on the DVC board about our first trip home in Dec. of 2000. Our next cruise was May of 2001 so I think that's when I came to this forum. Now I stay trying to help others as I was helped.

As for the 10 day. DH and I went to the Captians Corner discussion on our May 2003 cruise and they were talking about the opportunity then. We really liked the uniqueness of it and as Stacey said - all the ports. Especially Antiqua and St. Lucia since we've never been to either.

The bonus is finding out what a great group of people this is!

We arrive the night of the 22nd of May. Don't have plans to go over to MGM at all this trip. We leave early Friday morning the 28th so we'll be missing all the Star Wars stuff.

G'evening everyone :wave2:
It is absolutely pouring here :umbrella: and I am not smiling about it like the smiley is doing.
Between the :umbrella: and the :badpc: it is enought to drive anyone to :drinking1 .

p.s. Can you tell I like the new smiley?!?

Barb - just remember...

Mary,

Good questions.....

1. I found the DIS when I was doing research on taking the 3 day on 09/25/03. It was incredibly helpful... I don't know what I would've done without it and my Passporter......

2. I noticed the 10 day in an advertisement somewhere.... thought it sounded great.... was trying to convince the DW to go on it... but she wasn't sure about this cruising stuff..... Of course - she's the one who suggested I "look into" the 10 day when we were on the 3 day. She wasn't surprised at all when I came back and told her I had booked it.......

The fun i've had the last few months.... and all of the fun yet to be had... makes this special cruise all the more "Magic"al.......

I was watching the thread sink slowly to the bottom of the page - I was going to rescue it once we made page 2 - but thought it would be interesting to see it there......:earseek:

Well - heading off to bed... maybe.... Meetings tomorrow.......

Take care!

Mary,

I'll take a stab at your questions.

1. I found the DIS by accident while doing research on our first 4-day Disney cruise. I was what you would call a "lurker" getting as much information as I could but not doing any posting. (I'm really quite shy, just ask Stacey)!

2. I found out about the 10 day on these boards when the rumors first started circulating. We booked on the first day that we could. I like the idea of being on the ship longer and visiting the 2 new ports.

Now that's my answer and I'm sticking to it!

Paul

 All the Vegas Men are shy at first. But just get them talking about Disney!:hyper2: LOL!!

I'd like to see a group of us girls all together in one room....holy cow!! The fellas better look out. Can you imagine what it's going to be like when we all get together?:happy2: :hyper2: :chat: :cloud9:

Are they shy at first or are you doing all the talking?!? :) (I had to ask that question.)

I don't know if the walls of that room could handle all the talking.

Well, Jay does say that I could talk the legs off a table........
but I think I'm shy!;)

One who collects Disney men should know better than to ask such a question!

Bed time....finally had that all-important landlord talk with the newlyweds tonight, and I'm beat. It went well...they're finally learning about budgeting. All you parents of little kids, rejoice! They learn it by the time they're 22 & 24!!!
By the way, what IS a budget????

TERRIFIC TUESDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE HOLIDAY CRUISERS......and our little dog, too!

Stacey

Good morning all!

Nice to see that the question has generated some more discussion. :D

Heaven forbid our thread drops to page 2!

We have to be prepared for the cruise meets threads that might be generated by the new cruises. You know those will be filled with many repeaters looking for something new and it looks like a lot of DIS'ers are interested.

I've got a 1967 Mustang...Mom's using it...She's 75. I will sell it when she's through driving...you prolly don't want to wait, though....

Hi Guys-I am soooo busy, I haven't had time to look, read, or catch up on what's going on. Wanted to let you know I am still alive. If there is anything critical, can someone PM me? Leilani-I did glance over your trip reports and it looks like you had a wonderful time. Glad you enjoyed that Hummer! We are debating about whether to book the PC cruise if the ship repositions to California. Gail-can you PM me your TA that you were telling me about earlier? I can't seem to find that persons name.

Thanks everyone. Hope all is well.

Linda

My brother is an old Mustang fanatic. SIL had a really old one when they got married. Bro just bought a hot looking 2001 Mustang for my 16 yo nephew. Not sure what he is thinking.

:scratchin

Look Jilljill, I used a smiley! This could be addictive! :hyper: Except it takes a long time to post, because you have to decide which smilies to use.

I first found the DIS when planning our second trip in summer of 2001. Wow, did that trip go through some permutations. We even bought DVC before we left on the trip. Reading on here got me interested in cruising too. Took our first cruise on points in Oct. 2002, and we then decided to cruise again in 2004. Of course, when trying to plan the 2004 cruise, the 10 day was announced. Hmmm. 7 days vs 10 days. What a no-brainer that was!

:wave2: A very quick good morning all!
Off and running!

Someone please tell me what the Star Wars weekend is?

Lynda, I think it was originally gaRry who was looking for a Mustang. I have all the cars I can handle for now.
You must be getting really excited....you're halfway out the door! Have fun!

Paul, we want a report on the backstage Safari.......we'll pull the shyness out of you one way or another. ::yes::

jilljill....forget the move, and get back here and talk to us!!!!

I'm off.....great day everyone...getting hot here, may have to go somewhere cooler!
