Hi Stacey!

I booked the flights for the Christmas cruise. I have my FF miles through United and their advance booking fares were pretty much gone for our return week. You know me I'm just extremely paranoid about these things and just wanted to feel better about actually having a seat on the plane!

Me. too......I've been looking at American and AmWest for months. I'm just torn.
American's times are good....but no FF miles, and $700 more than America West.
I have a free flight with AmWest, so total for the 4 of us $1010
But, AmWest only has a flight departing MCO at 10:00 am (too early) and 5:55 pm. That would be almost 8 hours at the airport.
AmWest is non-stop, American stops in Dallas (which is okay...not a deciding factor)......but the seats are already filling on both of these.
I can wait until July and book with Southwest, were I have 2 free flights, but I don't think I can stand to wait that long.
Just like you said, I don't want to end up with no flight at all!
This is the part of the travel planning I hate the most. DH doesn't do it, because: A. He doesn't know how (honest) and B. He doesn't particularly care.
Any ideas? What would you do?

I have read where some people get a "day room" at the Hyatt.
What's that about?
Don't want to stay over another night.

Stacey gonna give you my opinion. I would wait until July when you can book with Southwest, that way you have more money to spend on both cruises. This would be especailly good if you like the times they offer.

A 'day room' is just that - you use it for the day and don't spend the night. You get to use the hotel amenities and have an actual room for the daytime only. I have heard that a lot of people book a 'day room' at the Atlantis in Nassau just to use the pool and the beach.
I do not know what the cost would be on this type of room.

Paul & jilljill....I'm really kind of afraid to wait for Southwest. I guess if I'm ready to jump on it as soon as their booking opens.....have had a little practice with that lately!!!

Guess what!!!!!! My loving husband just offered to take me to Taco Bell!!! Whoo Hoo!!!!!!!! Think they'll be giving all the moms a rose??

Hi all! Sorry I've been away from the thread for a while. Had to sort a few things out.

First off Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's on the thread. This was kind of a hard day for me. Today would have been my mom's 75th birthday. DH and I took flowers out to the cemetary for her.

Congrats to all who have booked the repositioning cruises and Mexican cruises. Not for us, but can't wait to read all your trip reports.

I hope hygene99 is wrong and no one drops this cruise in order to do one of those. I'd hate to lose you guys.

Here we are starting out the week in a very soggy way - lots of thunder, lightening and going on now. Our house will never be finished with this weather .

Hi all and Happy Mother's Day!

Just got home from HersheyPark.....it was opening weekend and very light attendance today - no lines at all.
They said yesteday was packed. Several new things - they have a "Factory Works" area now at Chocolate World where you can make your own customized Hershey Kisses or chocolate bars. Looked cool - but we didn't do it as the boys were anxious to get into the park and ride the rides. Also, a new 2nd floor deli/cafe called "Give Me A Break" cafe (after the KitKat candy bar theme) -- menu looked good and they have Starbucks coffee, too.
The new StormRunner roller coaster looks unbelievable! (Did NOT ride it - chicken little here.) It goes straight up then drops straight down, then a series of extremely tight/fast spiral loops - many, many screams coming from that area all day. Goes from 0-72 mph in 2 seconds.
The rock climbing wall is there again this year - but $5.00 a climb. A couple of new little kid rides, too.
And HersheyPark now has a collectible pin! Apparently the first one was last year (didn't know)......this year's has a roller coaster and the Hershey "kiss"-ing tower on it - says HersheyPark 2004. Very nice looking pin!

LeiLani - Good to see you posting again and congrats on the Cat. 1 for the June cruise! Hmmmm.....a Cat. 1 cruise and Hawaii - I think I could do that itinerary!

jilljill - we're about to get a whopper of a thunderstorm, too. The skies just opened up as we were leaving Hershey and it was a downpour most of the way home. Now, it's loud thunder and lightning here and the rain is really picking up -- so better get off because we usually lose electricity at the drop of a hat.

Mary...so sorry that it's a hard time for you. I bet your Grandma felt the same about your mom as I do, with Jordan being born close to Mother's Day. It's special to me....and I'm sure it was to them, too. Flowers for you!

There is NO WAY that we wouldgive up this cruise, and this group for the repositioning. I might have done it in addition to , but never would I not go on this Magical cruise.....like I said before:
WE'RE STILL NUMBER ONE!

Well - Another fun night in the ER.... Only 10 patiently waiting for me to arrive.... and then another 10 decided to check in after I got here.....

Hmmm - Taco Bell - didn't think of that.... We took DW to Red Lobster (her choice) for dinner. It was crowded - but we ate at the bar - Lauren loved that . Since I'm not a seafood fan - I ate the pasta with chicken. DW had the "Admiral's Feast" - and we both had margaritas. I'm glad we went early - so that mine was witha and not a nada....

Hmmmm... I'm sure garRy didn't disobey his physician and do too much today.... yea - I bet.......

Well - Since I didn't win the Powerball either - back to work I go....

Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Monday! Lots of storms in the area last night. We got rain, but other parts of the city got nothing. They just seemed to pop up on the radar.

Here's hoping they don't do too much damage as they head east.

Stacey - here's hoping you get a nice steady rain soon.

We are in the home stretch for WDW. My dining room table is full of things we need to pack or take with. Mark has made over 60 buttons for the DIS meet we have planned. Many there will be old friends of ours from the Member Cruise.

Are Lynda and Cash due back today? Can't wait to hear how their first cruise went.
