Good morning all! Just checking in before I head out to the airport. Flying East into Providence. Got meetings this afternoon, dinner tonight and then I fly home in the morning.

I should be back online by tomorrow afternoon (taking a 1/2 day vacation).

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hi everyone! Busy day at work, so I got behind! Mary, have a great trip! or at least not too boring (I know work travel is never fun!)

Leslie, Count me in as another "dope" who should have known the answer to that one!

Charlotte/Gail, did you all survive the rain? It's pouring again this morning here. We had a flood down our road, which usually doesn't happen. It was still drivable, but lots of puddles.

Lynda, I would have freaked over the scorpions!!! Yuck! I'm glad Cash is okay!

Doc, glad to hear you're having fun, despite the weather. Can't wait for the report/pictures.

As to where else I post on DIS, I started with the cruise board, and I usually read the interesting posts on the community board (the only group I follow at all is Christian music, and that's just occasionally). I post on the WISH board for my daily journal, but don't usually do much else. I post on a couple people's journals who encourage me. My secret vice is the trip reports. I LOVE to read peoples reports. I almost never post on them, but I love to read them. Del's Wife RULES!

Happy hump day everyone!

Happy Wednesday everyone. I can not believe how much rain we are having. I hope today is the end of it for us in NY and it ends today everywhere else too.

Mary, have a safe trip. I am going to e mail you. I received your pm.

Stacey, I am thinking about Las Vegas for hubby's 40th next April for a long weekend. I have two free airline tickets( through AA that have lots of black outs) that need to be used by 4/15/05.
How is the weather the begining of April???I was thinking of using my Marriott points and staying about 10 miles off the strip(JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa. It is 221 North Rampart Blvd) and renting a car. I know we should stay on the strip. I know the hotels will be expensive on the strip. There are no Marriotts on the strip. What do you think. IT WOULD BE A TOTAL SURPRISE. I could use the AA tickets and go somewhere else??????? I really do not want to go back to the Caribbean again. We have been SO many times. I would only consider Bermuda but they do not have a Marriott anymore.

Leslie, I was so bumbed I missed the Crayola Factory on the Travel Channel. I did watch part of the DC again at 11:00pm but I drifted off to sleep dreaming of it.

Talk to you later. Gail

Leslie,

when we hit 5000 pins, I stopped collecting "all" pins... LOL

Now I try and concentrate on DCL pins, and just a few of the really special pins that tickle my fancy from any of the 4 worldwide parks.

I end up getting alot of Paris pins since they make great traders here in the states.

I really try to trade for as many WDW pins as I can since there are so many traders going to these parks each day.

Thanks for the thought, and I look forward to some great trading with you on the ship!

- David

And a very good morning to everyone!! I didn't want to get up this a.m......anyone else??

Not too much time, since I'm so slow today.

Mary....safe travels!! "See" you when you return....I'll try to keep these hooligans in line for you! (Spoken from the #1 trouble maker:rolleyes: :p )

Gail...the weather in Las Vegas (and here) in early April is, for the most part, in the low 80's during the day, and perhaps down to the high 50's at night. Vegas is a hair windier than we are, but not alot. Chance of a little rain....very slight. I'm going up there Sunday....could offer a better report. Wish I had a lap-top!
The Marriott Resort there is probably gorgeous...haven't seen it, but I may be able to find out for you.
How far will your AA miles & Marriott take you? I know you said you were tired of the Caribbean....but the Dutch Caribbean is a whole new ball game, and Curacao has a beautiful Marriott. Since I'm no good at geography, I don't want to insult you...but just thought in case you didn't know....Curacao is next to Aruba.

Best get moving. I don't plan on a whole day at work, so maybe I'll check in after lunch to boost us back up the line (we were WAY down this a.m.)

Have a great one!

Stacey :sunny:

Lisa.....you said you liked Christian music...my sister in law's whole family is involved in the Christian music industry in one way or another. Some teach, some produce, and her nephew, Tyler Burkum has a band that is working it's way up to becoming pretty famous (if that's the correct way of putting it)...I can't remember the name of the band, I want to say it's something "Explosion"?
They won an award and performed on the Grammys (I think it was) this year.
Since my whole family is in the midwest, and I'm down here, I miss half the information I should know.
Have you any idea what I'm talking about??

Stacey

You sound like me, David. We started pin trading in Sept. 01, and we have TONS of pins, I have no idea how many. You counted, huh? I now look for LE Tinkerbell pins for DD, and DCL pins for me, mostly the Artist Choice. I'm lacking the first one, of course, Scuba Mickey, and last month's Chip & Dale. I also try to get DVC pins, but we haven't been to WDW this year. Hope they still have some of those in August. Hey, we should share PinPics ID's! Mine, oddly enough, is Dancind.

Gail, hope your DH finished the roof on that addition before it started to rain! I'll be e-mailing today.

Stacey, so glad you didn't have to sit for that trial, that would have been horrifying. I wouldn't sleep for years after something like that.

Mary & Lisa, I get over to the WISH board too, sporadically. I'm in the 6 week challenge right now. Enjoying my Lo Carb breakfast bowl with Carne Adovada and green chile right now. 2 more pounds to a new clippie! I also visit the DVC board, Community board, Theme Park and Budget boards. The last one has the EBay discussion group. I've started enjoying EBay's own discussion boards more, though, since they have boards specific to what you sell or collect. Actually, I'm spending more than my allotted hour per day on all these boards, I need to get back to work!

Great minds think alike!

I have an extra Chip and Dale Anchor just for you. What do you got to trade !

My id is obviously djs113 as well

- David

Hello again everyone live from the Magic.

I haven't had time to read all the posts so I hate to see how many pages I am going to have to catch up on when I get home.

The cruise has been great so far. It was a little rough Monday afternoon and evening and rough last night. The swells were 8-13ft so we were rocking and rolling quite a bit. We are docked in Cozemul right now but because it is so windy they have cancelled all the Disney excursions for the morning. The girls and I have the Dolphin Swim with Dolphin Discovery set up for this afternoon so we should be okay.

We did the jet ski tour in Key West and had a blast. In GC we went on the stingray city snorkle with Capt. Marvin's which was really great. We got to see the stingrays and snorkle at two different places.

I will try to check back in again before the end of the cruise and I am trying to do trip reports a few times.

Everyone have a great day.

LeiLani

Afternoon everyone. Good to hear from LeiLani. I'm glad you enjoyed Capt. Marvins. We really liked it too. Hope you have fun with the dolphins!

Stacey, I forgot about the jury duty thing. I'm glad you weren't picked too. That wouldn't be a fun trial. I've been called for jury duty twice, once in Indy before we moved, and once to federal jury duty up around DC. In Indy, I was one of the last two in our group, and they got enough juror's before they got to me.

For the federal case, the trial was expected to go over a week, and I had already been excused for the next week because of a business trip. In both cases, it took at least 1/2 a day to be excused. The federal case was a drug trial captured off the east coast, so it probably would have been interesting. In Indy, the case was a "armed" robbery, and a lot of the interview questions were focused around whether you would consider it "armed" if you found out later the gun wasn't loaded. Interesting twist, one of the jury pool was 1st cousins with the arresting officer. The defense asked that the juror be removed from the pool, and the judge made them use one of their (the defenses) elective strikes. Didn't make sense to me, but that's the way it went.

Hello and good afternoon everyone! :wizard:

Ugh.. I hate to even see the words "jury duty" I went for what I thought was a normal day of jury duty last October .. and ended up on the GRAND JURY for Broward County! Two days a week for SIX MONTHS!! I just finished in March and I was never happier to be done with anything in my life!! It was all capital cases, in other words..... murders. Very depressing. Plus the fact that I had to drive to downtown Ft. Lauderdale.. which in rush hour traffic takes about an hour and a half... each way! I don't care if I ever see downtown Ft. Lauderdale again!
Okay... sorry for the venting. Ugh.. be happy you got off Stacey!

David... I know exactly what you mean. I stopped counting a couple years ago somewhere after 3500. I don't even WANT to know how many pins I have now! I am trying VERY hard to stick to Sorcerer Mickey, Villains, Stitch, and DCL. Yeah.. right.....
I've been collecting for a long long time... back when I wish I would have had the foresight to get more than 1 of some pins..LOL Trading since it started in 99.... which I promised myself I wouldn't get into... but then got addicted anyway. I'm also trying to trade for a lot of the pins I want... but don't have the willpower when I'm up there and they are right in front of me on the rack... I need a 12 step program...LOL:rolleyes:
I do have some DCL's to trade... I don't list my more "serious" pins under RADPinLady.... get too many junk offers... Is there something in particular you're looking for?

Hey Leslie,

I have most of all the DCL pins, except the 2004 ones.

Cheak my pinpics (djs113) in case you need anything, I too, keep most of my cool stuff offline. I'll save the good stuff for you and Diana on the ship.

- David

Since nobody replied to my question on the previous page, I'm assuming no one has ever taken the backstage tour @ Animal Kingdom. Oh well I hope it's fun!

Gail - I'll be in Vegas on Monday. I too might be able to help you out with a weather report. I know when I went the first part of April last year it was a little on the cool side. No pool time last year. I'm hoping that going a couple of weeks later will make a difference in temperature.

Paul

WELL.....so much for getting off work at lunch time! Just now getting home and starting laundry. I guess I am really spoiled.

Got the final word on our personal taxes today. Nowhere near as bad as I thought, thank heavens! Thought for a while there I was going to have to sell one or more of my children!

Paul, I'll be in Vegas on Monday...where are you going to be (not the Bellagio I hope ;) ) and is it for fun, or business? Think we might be able to meet? Or did Virgil send you a PM and warn you to RUN? Let me know if you're interested. I'll be at the MGM, and I'm just taking my mom for a little R & R.
Also, we did the Kilamanjaro Safari, but not the backstage. The backstage tour sounded like fun, but our time was limited. I've heard a lot of good things about it. DD stayed at Animal Kingdom with a view of the Savannah, and said it was amazing!

Back in a few,

Stacey

Stacey- I'm in Vegas for a convention but I do it on my own so I would say it's part business but mostly fun. I'm staying at the Orleans. If you want to meet up just let me know when and where and I'll be there!

Paul

Good evening all!

Just popped by to say that Mary did make it out to Boston ok. :)

She's probably already done with the buisness stuff and on her way to the hotel for the night by now.

Well...Hello MarkRG!!! You shouldn't be such a stranger! Thank for letting us know that Mary made it okay. Hope she manages to get a little bit of rest.

HI MARY!!!!!!!!

:bounce: PAUL GOT A T.O.P.!!!!!!!!!! :bounce:

Paul, I know that I know whre the Orleans is....I'm trying to picture it, but it's already been too long of a week.....will have to look on my map.
We arrive on Sunday at noon....Monday is totally open, though we probaby will sleep late!! :p We are there until Wednesday at about 3:30 p.m. I have absolutely no schedule to go by whatsoever.....so it's up to you, you will have more a of schedule.
When do you arrive? After you get settled, you could call the MGM and leave a message and we could go from there. Will you have a cell phone with you? That worked a whole lot better for Virgil and I. PM me with your #, and I will send mine back to you.

Dinner time!
Back later,
Stacey

Hi everyone. Very busy day with DD. I also think that I am coming down with a cold from all this wet damp weather. This weekend it is suppose to hit 70. the sun is suppose to shine tomorrow afternoon.

Mark, I am glad Mary had a good trip and at the hotel.

David, I got your pm. I will get in touch with you this week.

Stacey and Paul thanks for checking the weather in Vegas for me.

Stacey, I have been to Aruba at least 10 times since I was about 16. I have also been to Curacao about 3 times via land and once on a cruise. The last time we were there was on Adventure of the Seas in July 2001. The town was so dirty. We took a cab to a beach with another couple and it was the scarest ride of our life. We all honestly thought it was over for all of us. We saw parts of Curacao that I will never want to see again. Thank you though. I appreciate your input. I am sure the Marriott in Curacao is beautiful. We love Aruba. Between cruising to the caribbean in December on DC and again on Carnival Miracle with the kids the end of April (spring break 2005)I wanted to do something different. It will just be for 3 nights. We will go Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Monday. I will just book 3 nights as DH can not take any more time off. The tickets are good anywhere AA flies. The glich is there are SO many black out dates and it has to be used by 4/15/05. They are blacking out weeks at a time. The weekend of April 9th is not blacked out.

The kitchen and great room are coming along. DH is working on the tile floor as I am writting.

Talk to you all later or tomorrow. Gail::MinnieMo
