20041009 - 10/9/04 - Western

I dont see the dates that we would be there on the website, looks like its the 10th. We will be there on the 8th. Looks like fun .

The MNSSHP dates at the link above are from last year - this year's dates have not yet been released. Board wisdom has it that they will be released at the end of April. I'm hopeful that Friday the 8th will be on the list so that we can go!

Like I had said before, it probably won't be an issue to do the Disney Dolphin encounter at Cozumel. There's no swimming, you stay on a platform.
We really liked the catamaran racing in Key West, that was a blast. Also, the horseback riding in Grand Cayman was great.

Wayne, thanks for letting me in on the abbreviation! And thanks for any excursion advice. I know my kids would love the dolphin encounter, but I'm still on the fence with the stingray thing. I believe my 6 yr old daughter would be terrified and probably stay in the boat the entire time. Would also love to see some ruins but it seems the trips are all day ones and don't really want to spend the entire day doing that. So many decisions!

My family will be joining all of you for our first Western cruise (myself, DW [S.S.Wilson], DD will be 7, and DD 5). Looks to be a great time. Can't wait to meet some of you.

Mr. Shannon

Hi, i'm so excited that i'm going to be travelling with you all, its great to see lots of teenagers , i'm taking dh and ds13 and worried that ds would be bored but don't think so !
Any tips for a first timer on trips / excursions/ must sees / must avoids would be great, we only booked on thursday and could only get cat 10 on deck 1 or cat 11 on deck 7 so i chose deck 7 , has anyone stayed in cat 11 and is there enough room for 3 - don't plan on being in it much anyway :)

Welcome traceie2201! We're travelling (DH & I) with DDs 7 & 11 and its our first cruise as well. The best advice is to scour these boards - somebody (or several somebodies) know the answer to just about anything I've ever thought to ask!

Carla

Hi Carla, thanks for the welcome, i've been scouring for 7 days solid since we booked, am compulsive planner :) and have managed to find nearly everything i ever wanted to know, just want to be sure i don't miss any secret hints or tips so will probably spend the next 184 days still scouring ( how sad am I ?) i'll need to see my optician soon , am going bug eyed from over use of the dis boards !
Have a fab cruise , see you there.

Hello everyone - I had a question for Surfergirl - I am trying to book Royal Swim in Cozumel and was wondering what time you chose? I read earlier that you are a party of 4 - possibly 6 and I'm not sure how many they allow at each time. I hope I can still get in - did you have any problems getting your booking? Who did you book through? Thanks for the help.

Michelle

Jeff and I booked the royal swim a few months out, Jeff and Gaby booked while we were embarking at Port Canavral. Orginally, they had a 3 pm swim, but were able to move into our swim time when we checked in. Our swim was at noon. There were 6 of us in the swim.

WDWgirls- We booked directly online at their site www.dolphindiscovery.com and had a prompt reply from Marian Davies.
There are 4 of us and they only allow 8 people per Royal swim. I don't know how booked up it is but our first choice of 11:00 was full so we have 2pm booked.
I would try right away if you are interested.

Thanks Surfergirl - I booked through shoretrips.com and requested the 2pm also. There are four of us also so if we get it we'll be going together.:sunny: They said they would contact me through email within 72 hours. I dont know if I can stand to wait that long! Maybe I should book direct like you did? I'm so impatient. Thanks again for the quick answer - I hope we get the 2pm it would be nice to meet you.

Michelle

Thanks for the crossed fingers Jane because it worked! We got the 2pm Royal Swim so we'll be kissing the dolphins together! It will be nice to meet you. It will be me, DH, DD8 and DD8. :cool1:

Is it October yet?

See you there Michelle.
We are myself, DH, DD 13, DD 10
Only 6 months away.:Pinkbounc

Hi all, aren't we all busy little planners :)
just booked my stingray swim through nativeway , $80 for 3 of us for 35 mins with stingrays , 35 mins at coral gardens reef and drinks on board with all snorkelling equipment, total around 2.5 hours, what a bargain.
Anyone got any other thoughts on stuff to do in GC and has anyone done bottom fishing in CC ?

Are we there yet ????

Hi we are arranging transportation for 3 returning from 10/9 western on 16th oct to MCO airport, does anyone fancy sharing a limo , there will be 4 / 5 seats spare and it would be cheaper than the disney transfers etc if we could share , its $160 so for two families would be $80 per family & tip. pm me if you're interested, i'll be travelling with DH and DS 13 and we'll be heading straight to the airport after disembarking.
