Spend the day at Cedar Point in Sandusky (Ohio) with your DIS friends.

Cedar Point is open from 10AM to 10PM on Saturday. People staying in Cedar Point hotels are allowed into the park at 9:30AM.

Scheduled meeting times and places:

Due to the long lines for Top Thrill Dragster, I suggest that those individuals who want to ride TTD head straight for the queue for that ride as soon as the park opens. Those not riding will most likely be at the TTD Grandstand, at least for the first half hour after the park opens.

10AM - Meet at Top Thrill Dragster Grandstand (unless you are in line for the ride)
1PM - Lunch at the Burger/Pizza Place next to Cedar Downs
4PM - Meet by the Gemini Coaster for Dip-N-Dots Ice Cream
6PM - Meet at Coaster's Drive In to discuss where to eat dinner

If you send me a PM, I'll send you my cell phone number. Hope to see you there.

Friday Evening at Cedar Point
Saturday Cedar Point Day
Sunday 4th Annual Memorial Day Picnic
Monday Farewell Breakfast

Not sure if we be coming to this but you never know...
Should be up Sunday & Monday for sure...:D

You know we will be there!

Shep, you should come.. our kids had a blast last year!

Hmm...only 25 mins away, have season passes..........sounds like a go for us! :)

I would love to do this. My kids were so disapointed we missed the CP meet last year and haven't let me forget it. Katie and I will just be getting back from her DC trip that Friday late so I don't know if I can swing it but I am sure going to try!

Hmmm.....it's a possibility for me. :)

I was just checking hotel rates in the area, and rooms at CP's Breakers Express (end of CP Causeway - 2 queen beds - can accommodate 5) are only $71/night for May 28th and 29th. We stayed there in 2002, and the hotel was pretty nice. If you only need 1 bed for 2 adults, you can stay in the older section of Hotel Breakers (right at CP) for $85 per night. Warning - CP will charge you a $25 cancellation fee if you change your mind. The Days Inn where many stayed last year is $71.99/night AAA rate, but I think the Breakers Express is quite a bit nicer, and also closer to the park.

The Breakers Express is very nice and for $14 more, you might as well book it. You get in 30 minutes early if you're at the Breakers Express or any of the Cedar Point onsite resorts.

If you stay at the Hotel Breakers, you can get the parking/causeway fee refunded. Last year we stayed offsite at the Days Inn. This year we are booked into the Breakers Express. I hope that I'll be able to get around OK by Memorial Day weekend. Sounds like a pretty good crowd of people are planning to attend.

Well I won't be coming this year. This is the Day of my DD's Wedding!

Giving this a little bump. After thinking I might be able to make it this year, it's looking doubtful. Now that I work at the Disney Store, I can't take for granted that weekends - especially holiday ones - will be free. I'm going to take off work a week in June and 11 days in July, so I dare not ask off for Memorial Day weekend. :(

Rats. Darn old work getting in the way of fun. You'll be missed.

For anyone who was considering the purchase of a Cedar Point season pass, I just found out from Cindy B that Cedar Point season passes won't be honored at Geauga Lake this year (even though both parks are owned by Cedar Fair).

We're staying at BE Thursday and Friday night.
On Saturday we'll be at CP for the morning, then driving to PKI for the evening checking into the Ramada Limited 5 miles south of the park.

We're booked at the Breakers for Friday and Saturday night and at the Baymont for Sunday night. Now let's see if we can make the trip. ;) We come home from WDW the Sunday before!!:p

Well I believe I will be at a swim meet - as usual - the team hasn't decided on all long course meets yet - sigh

Marla - Sounds like we need to schedule a DISmeet at a natatorium.

Barb - You should be elected the official DIS jet setter. Bill needs to upgrade to a LearJet.

LOL John - between long course and summer swim team - at least everyone will know where I am - sitting beside some pool or other
