20040131 ~ Cruising Jan 31 2004 Western Who's with us?

Sounds like you had a great sale, Karyn! Randy is the garage/yard/house sale king! We would love to go on the 10 day Christmas cruise, too... if only I could convince the whole (extended) family that it would be the way to go...

So where's the party night? We're ready

Any more lurkers? Ask Juli, we don't bite  and there are no internet stalkers among us (I think)

Come on down and join in. We'd like to meet you, and, the more the merrier! :grouphug:

Gary, you are going to be quite the Dapper Dan

.

Karyn,
That's great! Now are you going to spend it on a new ballgown for our formal night or what? I'm so glad you got through today and can put your feet up with an umbrella drink. Here's to you:wizard:
For those interested, I booked myself and one brave family member on Capt' Marvin's morning half day and asked that we be put with other Disney cruisers. I'm sure looking forward to that:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :jumping2: :jumping3: :jumping4:
have a good night all, Renae

Hi Everyone,
You've all made me feel so welcome, Thank-you! No, I'd have to say to any lurkers out there, no one here will bite you. But you best not show up at the Captains Gala in your speedo, or at least make sure it is black!

Cap - Yes, you can add us to the list:
Juli & Tony Ryner
Peter & John (age 8 - yes they are twins)
Waterford, Michigan
(which is SE Michigan and we are frequently in Canton where Cap & Judi live as my BIL lives there and we have friends and activities that way at least once every other week.)
Cabin - 6032

Third cruise for Tony & I, 2nd for all of us on DCL. Can't wait to see if they will offer 12/18 on board booking incentives for DVC or through DCL. I would love to book that one.

One of the things that got me to post was that Tyler hadn't found a friend prior to the cruise. My boys are very friendly, and if you feel comfortable have Tyler send a note to them via my email or through the DIS group. They are major into Pokemon and Game Boy right now. A few weeks ago it was Yu-Gi-Oh. They have already told me that they would rather eat dinner with the kid's club every night. :( Beleive it or not, I would at least like them to join us for a bit and then take them off to the club. I know they like the shows as well, so we'll see. What am I saying? They can spend as much time away from us as they like!

Thanks again.

P.S. Dean, my DH keeps putting off trying his Tux on so we'll see if he can actually bring it. I sure wish I could justify renting some for my boys as they look so cute in them. It would be easier to do so if was Christmas or another holiday. As for me, I love to dress up but comfort is a big factor. If I have to worry about what I'm wearing all night it basically ruins everything. Basically, I'll be bringing one long dress for formal night, but it's really understated and pants or a skirt for the rest of the dinners. I keep trying to tell DH that simple is best if it is dressed up with some stunning jewelry. He's not getting the hint. Hmmm....should I leave that Mickey Pearl necklace picture out somewhere?

Dean, OKW is our home resort as well. My DH's favorite, but I enjoy staying all over WDW.

Nikki - we don't have a TA! I booked the Romantic Escapes through DVC with $ and they said someone will be calling us. I figured I'll wait until next week and start calling. I am anxious to see if they let us book everything in advance as well. The DVC CM said there was no cancellation policy, so I decided that if they don't let us book everything I'll probably cancel. DH does not want to go to the massage and I'm hoping I can talk them into letting me book something for myself instead....was told no, but I will continue to ask when the DCL rep calls me. It would probably be for something a bit lower priced anyway. Can you beleive I did all this just b/c I didn't want to wait in line for ressies? The thought of going on board, having lunch and hanging out at the Mickey Pool with my kids was such a great thought. Well, the thought of surprising my DH with some rose petals at turn down isn't a bad incentive either. He would be so torqued (not toqued) if he knew how much I spent on the "package". He's an accountant and finance guy by education. That's ok, he keeps me supplied with Disney Jammies and trips to DVC. Gotta love that in a guy.

From the notes today, it sounds as though everyone is having a good day.

Karyn, congratuations on the sale. Big parts of the work of the move are behind you.

Hi, Juli, I think you'll be a welcome addition to our group. We don't even have initiations - you're jump in and you belong! But, just one little itsy bitsy thing to point out. Gary is the one that has the tux and is OKW. Remember, he's the smart one with the Haines etc., etc.. Me, (Dean) I'm the handsome (and modest) one with the lime-green sneakers that everyone is so envious of. :smooth:

DW Cheri says to say "hi" to all my new friends. She's too busy watching after her elderly kid to have time to post. But she is looking forward to meeting everyone too.

Have a good evening all. Talk to you tomorrow.

DEAN

Any scuba divers with us ? I'll be diving in both places.......what diver wouldn't:cool2: . Two of the top dive dive spots in the world on one cruise .

It's l'il ole me again, about to turn in,
I'm not certified yet, but I have to ask about one of the dive sites. I know about the reef at Grand Cayman, but what is the other? Hopefully in the next year my DH and I will both be certified and then we can REALLY play! We are avid snorkelers, though, so that will have to do for now.
Now on to my big question, are there any scrapbookers out there in our little club? I am totally addicted, and have already done most of my book from Oct., but I can't wait to get some photos I didn't get last time and add them to my growing collection of cruise pix. I even managed to schedule a crop on the Oct. cruise, to do the pages from the one before. That was really fun! Speak up croppers, any of you out there?
Night, (I hope) Renae:wave2:

Sorry about the mix-up of Gary & Dean. I'm really bad about keeping names and online monikers(sp) straight. Even when I have pictures with them, until I meet the folks, I just can't seem to match every body up. I'll do my best.

Juli

I hope everyone has their dancing shoes ready! This is the third from the last dance. The next two are the ten day dance an the (Dare I say it?) SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :jumping2: :jumping3: :jumping4:

Be there or be square!!!

Hey Nikki! How 'bout those Patriots!!!! :hyper:

I'm still wearing my Steeler party shirt in Key West on Superbowl Sunday, however. With a bag over my head, of course.

HADN!!! :wave2:

Dean, you're smileys totally rock, dude!!!!

Dean--that was a good website for ties. I also took a quick look at EBAY. They also have Disney ties for sail. BTW, where do you get all your crazy icons?

hi every one is sleeping the night shift makes it hard to sleep on your day off. so i am getting things packed a littel at a time. it is cold we had the boys yesterday . the 3 year old wants to go now just like us he saw disney picturs want's to see all his frends micky minnie and the rest. he gets that from me.well hope you have a nice day cheryl:sunny:

Good Morning everyone! How are all my best virtual-soon-to-be-real friends today?

Wow, what a rough/long day yesterday was! I'm still tired. But, in case you were wondering, we made almost $700 yesterday (mostly on little stuff)! Well, I'd love to chat, but I have to finish preparing the lesson I was going to do last week. Got to refresh my memory and collect my thougts - an increasingly difficult thing to do, now in my old age!

Have a truly blessed Sunday!

Karyn

From screaming the Pats on last night. I didn't expect it to be such a tough go for them, those Titans did a good job and we didn't do as good as we should have - thank goodness we got that last conversion so we could just run the clock down - not a truly honorable win, but a win nonetheless. Gary, Tyler will be wearing his Tom Brady jersey on Superbowl Sunday! :)

Juli, Tyler sounds like a perfect match for your DSs! His favorite gift from Santa (yes he still believes, but ONLY because we managed to FIND this for him!) was the YuGiOh Duel Disk Launcher! :) He is good at that game, and a Pokemon expert, and because I write for a video game magazine, and GLenn and I are so into video games, he is a huge fan of the GameBoys!

Why doesn't DH want to do the massage? Glenn was a little uptight about it, but when he found out we'll be in the same room he is feeling better about it and excited. I thought you could exchnage the couples thing for a massage and facial for you instead.

I'd call them as soon as you can to check on the ressies, as they "lost" us in the shuffle and might have done the same for you, it's getting close now. And mention that if you do not get the spa ressies now, you might consider the cancellation, I bet that helps!

Talk to you guys all soon!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, welcome to the 20 Day Dance!!!
:cool1: :cool1:

Nikki, it's not how, it's how many! And the Patriots had more than the Titans when time ran out!

Nice job on your sale, Karyn!

Good morning!

Was just watching the Wonder in port this morning, wishing I was at the terminal. But, just 20 days to go and I'm dancin' with ya'!

I pick up the icons from several different places. Just have to be careful because some have adware attached and once they get started, whew, can't stop the pop-ups.

Have a great Sunday.

Dean

Wow -- I miss a day and I can't even barely catch up... I am going to try, but I know I am going to miss something. No time to take notes today either, because we are getting ready to take down the Christmas tree and decorations.

Juli and Tony -Welcome!!! Glad you introduced yourself.
Nikki - congrats on the docs arriving.
Karyn -- good job on the sale!!! That's great.
Gary - Thanks for the hat update -sounds good.
Dean - good job updating the list!

I know there was more. It's been a hectic weekend for us.

I am hoping to get DH to log on!! I was telling him about the formal wear thread the other night and some stories from ours and what a great group we have! He mentioned that he might like to log on. We'll see. Maybe I will be able to get him to say 'hello' tonight!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Well the tree is down, and the ornaments are in their boxes, and now we just have to get it all down to the basement and continue vaccuuming the silly needles that are everywhere - that'll have to wait till after we meet the group DD is going to Australia with, AND try to get my car to the dealer so they can fix it (damn this cold, it killed my car *sob*).

Hey question - I posted this but I'll ask you guys too - we have a small travel iron, but the docs say no irons only in the laundry rooms - I don't want to wait in those lines for formal night, will they stop me from bringing it on board?

Juli, Tyler would love to say hello to your sons, we'll have to set it up, can he just PM them here?

ttys!!

:)
